I just joined and have worked out twice now. Because it's shiny and new, it's appealing. There are pros and cons already. I like that the manager is responsive to Yelp reviews. Hopefully, they "act" on the issues people point out.I don't like that the only way to sign up is by providing your checking account number; thus, they auto-debit you each month. That takes away control from the client and discriminates against people who do not have a bank account. I'm just sayin'. Several plans allow you to work out at one or all clubs, take classes for free (or not), and use the lounge area (or not). I got the Premium package ($24.99/month), which is annual (not month-to-month) and has a yearly fee of $59--it feels like price-gouging. DITCH THE ANNUAL FEE and ALLOW MONTH-TO-MONTH for all plans, please. That being said, it's much cheaper than CalFit was. This is a big, clean, open gym with lots of options, and I "do" mean options. From traditional aerobic equipment (treadmills, stair-steppers, elliptical, etc.) to weights (stationary and free weights), this place has them. They also have a nice array of CrossFit low-tech equipment and a workout area (with the astroturf). I've not seen any CrossFit classes, which would be nice. They have a few places for those who really like powerlifting, so that's a plus. They also have about four studios for yoga, cycling (?), and OrangeTheory-style classes. This place is trying to capitalize on all the popular ways people like to work out. Kudos. They have a movie theater with more aerobic machines, but I find the idea dumb. Who has time or wants to watch 30 minutes of a movie? Short features, TED Talks, or award-winning short films are an idea. As a result, the area was less popular. In the main gym, they have TVs, but they seem permanently set to channels many don't watch. Not one TV had CNN (or any news channel). Please PUT CNN ON YOUR TVs with closed captioning. One negative: There's NO hand sanitizer on the floor. They "do," however, have wipes to clean the machine (that I used to clean my hands). Please install some hand gel dispensers to keep the germs down. Handwashing is the single most effective way to stop the spread of disease. The stretching area had only a handful of mats to lie on. They need MORE MATS!!They have an area with luxury massage chairs and tons more that I did not pay for and don't see myself using. Most people want to get in, do their workout, shower (or not), and leave. I appreciate that they have a juice bar (I haven't tried anything yet). They have a "Kids Area," which lacks proper punctuation. It's "Kids' Area"--plural possessive; you need an apostrophe! Many corporations get this wrong or spell it: "Kid's Area," which is entirely incorrect. The men's locker room is hard to find. They really need a sign right by the entrance, as a woman could easily wander down the wrong hallway. The signs are way up on the ceiling and hard to see. Locker rooms are small. They have one hallway and only about five small benches in total. So, you're SOL if you are shy about undressing/dressing. There are vast parts of the lockers that have no bench to sit on or put your stuff on when you're getting ready. Please ADD BENCHES to the locker area!! Same for the showers. There should be a place to put your bag on a bench (plenty of space outside the shower area is not used for anything). Also, there's no soap or shampoo, so bring your own. Shower heads are about 20 feet above, so the water is very dispersed; you can't direct the nozzle at all--a negative if you want to direct the shower to a body part, like rinsing your feet). To turn them on, you must get under the shower head and be doused with cold water--not a smart design. Finally, locker rooms would be much better with a steam room, but nope. This location does not have a pool or anything, either. That's where Calfit/InShape has an edge. Also, a HUGE negative. There is no paper towel in the bathroom or locker area. I wanted to wipe down my locker and had to get toilet paper. People have to use the damn (very annoying) air dryers to wash their hands. It's also so they don't have to stock the products, which is lame. If you're focused on cleanliness, you can have an attendant fill the machines every few hours on their rounds. The vibe on the floor was chill. I like the really diverse ethnicity of this location--people of every look, color, and ethnicity. It's very "Sacramento" in that respect. The front desk seemed to be full of young females chatting but friendly. I hope this is a great place to get fit and meet people. I'll check back in after a few months.

Great equipment. Half the time things are not working. Terrible staff. Staff allows their buddies to hop on the intercom and act like fools. When the GM is not present you can tell the staff does what they want and mistreat their customers. I've seen plenty of times that staff are rude to individuals that speak only Spanish. Your gym is located in a Spanish speaking community where over 70% of your members are Spanish speaking. It's unfortunate that the staff there are unprofessional and childish. I recommend those that can, attend the gym in Greenback. Everything there works and you don't have to worry about getting your car broken in to.

There's a good variety of equipment, everything's clean, spacious, cheap membership, and the staff are super friendly. There's also a theater room for cardio which is amazing. It's the only way I'll do cardio.

They do not ensure informed consent in filming group classes. There is no clear mention of filming certain classes on sign up screen on their app which they tell us to use, nor clear announcement about recording during the class, nor signage to inform students. During the class, there were Chuze employees staying at the front of classroom filming the whole time and it was extremely uncomfortable. Despite my request not to be filmed, they persisted. Their handling of this situation by the management was unprofessional, arrogant and completely lacked sensitivity. I was told that it was a special event that made it OK to film and I missed one instructor mentioned about recording before the class but all I heard was music blasting before the class and no one was paying attention - clearly no one is informed about this. This gym has had dangerous people including stalkers allowed in and they kept failing to implement adequate security measures. The ongoing failure to prioritize members' safety is evident in their poorly executed process - also their completely lack of respect to their members is apparent.

First off, this is my first gym membership. I went with the free trial but signed up after my first visit. The staff is super cool. The place is pretty clean and good temp. The massage chairs are killer. Always plenty of machines available, even when it's busy. The location isn't the best, but the people inside are friendly, and most are just focused on their workout. Only beef I have is that people tend to park on the machines in the circuit where they're supposed to use and move.... No big deal though. I would definitely recommend to anyone.

Train employees better -- different employees said different answers. Told there was a 5 minute wait for the hydromassage when I signed up. Still waiting after 20 minutes.

The reason why I come to this gym is for Sara S Zumba classes. She is amazing!!!!! Best instructor ever. I will move my schedule around just to not miss her class. Wish they gave her more classes. So many people have joined this gym because of her. She is super motivating and fun. I hope she never leaves Chuze, if she does, a lot of people will go wherever she goes including myself. Thank you Sara for being amazing & motivating me to come to this gym!!!!
