Let me introduce you to Chicha, in downtown Sacramento, an excellent Peruvian restaurant, that provided excellent and friendly service, food, and vibes. Here on a work trip, friends and I ordered the popular (lomo saltado), the vegetarian (vegetables cubanos), and the social-media-recommended (chaufa). All of it good, plated beautifully, and very filling. The pisco sour was a nice touch as well. About a block from Capitol Park. Enjoy!

Was inspired to try Peruvian food, and came across Chicha Peruvian Kitchen in my search. The food on Yelp looked amazing, so I did that think it would disappoint...and I was right. We dined her this past Saturday night, and walking up we could tell it was really lively. We were seated to the left of the entrance, in the area where the murals is adorned with colors and patterns. Like that of traditional Peruvian clothing. We looked over the menu for a little bit and my girlfriend first ordered the Chicha Morada which she'd been wanting to try. We also ordered the following:Drinks:Chicha MoradaAppetizers:Yuca & Platános FritosPan Con ChicarrónMain Courses:Pescado A Lo MachoPollo PachamanquerdoDessert:Peruvian FlanFrom the drinks to the food, everything was amazing! The spices on the Pollo Pachamanquerdo were so delicious, it was for sure my favorite dish of the night. But I also loved the fried platános, and the Chichi Morada drink. It was also nice that the live musician played a nice song for my girlfriend and I, after our appetizers arrived. He asked if she preferred it to be in Spanish or English and asked what vibe we preferred. So that was a nice touch on the night, but overall he brought great entertainment to the evenings dinning experience.Overall:Good environment, great live music and delicious food. I'll definitely be back again to try more!

I'd never tried Peruvian food before and this was such a great start. My friend took me here straight from the airport for dinner, insisting I'd love it.The ceviche was so incredibly fresh and I really enjoyed the balance of flavors and textures. The paella was rich and the seafood, just like the ceviche was so fresh! I especially enjoyed the shrimp! I wish I'd saved room for dessert, but definitely will the next time I'm in Sacramento!

This was our first time here. We had a reservation for 6:30. We went to the bar since we were early. The bartender was very nice and explained a few of pisco drinks that I was wondering about. He gave me a small taste which was so nice. I ended up with the pisco fruit and my husband had the lime pisco. The food was good and everyone enjoyed what they had. We had empanadas for an appetizer which were tasty. The restaurant had someone there singing so that was nice for the ambiance. The restaurant was clean and had nice decorations. The map tells you it's in an alley but it's not it is on the corner. So watch out for that. Give this place a try!!!

The menu options are somewhat limited. I had the Lomo Saltiado a la Antigua. It was delicious - the sauce had a really good flavor, the buttery white rice and seasoned veggies made a good combination. My niece had the pepperoni pizza with pistachios - it was ok. I also had the House Peruvian Bread Pudding with vanilla ice cream. The bread pudding was a bit hard to cut into but was actually soft in my mouth. Service was great, our server was very attentive. The restaurant had an upscale ambiance. Parking can be a nuisance and should be factored in to your decision of visiting this place.

This review is from October 19th. Had it saved and never hit submit. When we went the restaurant was roughly 3 weeks old. And even in that sense the quality of service was very nice. When we were greeted at the door the hostess was very inviting had a big smile on her face and said she was going to get some additional help. The additional help was due to the fact that a lot of people had just come in and they needed to seat three other parties ahead of us. Context we did have a reservation and they were aware that we were on the list so no issues there. The person that helped us afterwards was very kind he showed us to the table explained the restaurant, the backstory of why it was created, and explained the specials of the day. The mood itself in there and the vibe was extremely relaxed. You felt very invited to the space and they were beautiful nods to the Peruvian culture around the different walls when he came to artwork or just decorations. Quite lovely seeing all the different colors in the room. The food we had was the combination of ceviche. There were three types that were brought to us one little tangy one little spicy and one mild with a citrus aftertaste. All of them were extremely extremely delicious. The plantain chips that came with them were superb extremely thin fried to perfection and the hint of salt really added depth to the different styles of ceviche. The salsas that came with them were extremely nice and we actually asked for seconds of each. When it comes to the two main entrees we ordered there was the paella with mixed seafood and the grilled I believe sea bass with a citrus salsa's top. Both of those again were cooked to perfection the flavors were bold but not spicy more of a good mix of salt citrus fat that really made the experience enjoyable. I would highly recommend going to this establishment as again the initial invite into the space was welcoming, the food was extremely deluctable, and our server was very attentive the entire time we were there

Absolutely wonderful experience here at Chicha! My first time having Peruvian food felt a little daunting but the server made wonderful recommendations of the popular dishes on the menu that we ended up ordering. We didn't get any bread or rice with the ceviche, which I would recommend to do but being able to taste the difference between the three was unique! The pork belly blew my mind! Cooked very delicately and the meat was very tender. It seems like a high-end restaurant but service is great regardless and I would 100% come back again!

This is an extension of Chicha in roseville. The food had the same deliciousness but in a downtown location and a slightly more upscale ambiance.Unfortunately it does not offer the weekend buffet style reservation that happens once a month at the roseville location. I love their ceviches.
