Charlie’s Cafe

An insanely long wait 1. For the table and 2. For the food. My food came out not how I ordered it but I didn't want to wait another 30 minutes for it to be corrected. It was not even busy. The food was not worth the wait. Just overall not worth it.

Slow slow slow. I just wanted to eat one meal, not spend all day here. Finally asked for our food to go. Staff are not friendly or engaging. They don't make eye contact or ask how things are. Twice I had to go to the register just to ask for service, help, information, etc. I raised my hand to get a server's attention and she stood at the register shouting "what do you need?"

I would've given this place a good review, because the staff was very nice, with the exception of the person who was working at the front counter, who was very rude to me. I felt unwelcome and won't be back.

Just had breakfast at Charlie's, very disappointed. Waited a very long time to be seated, then waited some more for a waitress that plopped down water, then left. Waited some more for her return, finally came back and took our order. Waited extended period of time for our breakfast. Probably 45 minutes or more and we were served burnt hash browns my Eggs Benedict had very little hollandaise sauce barely covering the eggs. Use to like Charlie's, that's no longer true

Service in this establishment is badly lacking. Our server was inattentive, rude and appeared very unhappy to be here. She kept ignoring even the most basic requests, such as getting coffee. It is a mystery to me why would people that have no desire to provide even nominal service are in the service-oriented business. P.S. if you keep driving past Charlie's Cafe, there are a number of other food establishments, with much better service.

Great service and tasty food. The restaurant was clean, bright and airy. I would recommend to anyone in the area

I don't wanna type this shit. Breakfast is good. BBQ meats are 6.5/10 but the sides need some work

Aileen LMy husband and I decided to take a trip down memory lane and celebrate our anniversary at Charlie's for breakfast. We were so disappointed. We placed our order and 30 minutes later we had to ask for a status update. 35 minutes later, an incorrect order was brought out. It was quickly fixed, but the food temperature was barely warm. Our waitress was cold and unfriendly, and when I told her my food wasn't hot, there was no apology for the extended wait or a plausible explanation why it was not hot. She did offer to re-do my order, but we had already waited so long that I decided to eat it. The quality of the food was nothing like I remembered it. Just a complete disappointment altogether.

Was a 30 min wait to be seated, another 15 to get a beverage, another 15 to take our order... we've now been waiting 45 min since they took our order and people who were seated shortly before us, just walked out after finishing their meal.... We could be here forever... at this point, I'm so hungry, even if the food is bad, it will be delicious...

Quaint breakfast and lunch cafe in older part of Grass Valley! Note: parking is across street!!!! Warm and friendly cafe! Steady business on a Thursday morning! Was seated and received my water with lemon and steaming cup of black coffee right away. Ordered Joes scramble with spinach, mushrooms onions & garlic with hash browns and sourdough toast- yummy and didn't taste garlic. Hash browns were crispy and tender inside. Really enjoyed the food and the attentive customer service. Will definitely come back. Closes at 2pm
