Charlie’s Cafe

Drove out from Rancho to try this place, and it was worth the drive. It's obviously a popular spot, because even at 9 AM on a Sunday morning, it was very busy. I Walked in, and I was seated immediately. The place is like a little country café, with checkerboard tablecloths. Everything was clean, and everybody was friendly. They took my coffee order right away. The coffee was good, and they kept my cup full. I decided to go with the roast beef omelette. Roast, beef, tomatoes, onions, bell peppers, spinach, and cheese. I asked my server if she could replace the bell peppers with mushrooms, and she said no. How hard is it to swap one veggie for another? I know it's not because it's pre-mixed, because she did have them take off the bell pepper.. And yet, she let me substitute my potatoes for fruit. One small glitch, not worth taking off a star over. The omelette came, and it was big! The roast beef was tender and seasoned very well. It had just the right amount of cheese, and the veggies were very good. I got a very nice bowl of fruit, and I could've had biscuits and gravy, but I just chose the biscuit. Light and fluffy. A fantastic meal at a decent price. If you get a chance, check out the flag in the back of the restaurant near the restrooms. It's in honor of a marine who served in Afghanistan. Very special, indeed. A great breakfast. Been in 3x in the last 6 months. The food was consistent with flavor, appearance and overall quality. May be the best tasting bacon on the planet. The burgers are always great, but I wish they'd cook the fries just a bit longer/hotter. The service is what's not consistent. Some staff are just amazing at their job while others seem lost in the sauce. Why does the young guy have to touch my coffee cup to refill it? He'll pick it up 3 inches off the table completely touching the rim just to refill it from the pot. Why not just leave it alone, not touch it and fill it as it sits on the table. I noticed he does this at every table. Great way to spread germs because he's not sanitizing between touching coffee cups. Just gross. Haven't tried any breakfast beside the biscuits n' gravy and that was pretty good. All Bfast orders I've seen look great. We will be back.

Food's not bad, medicore, the MAGA paraphernalia is a deal breaker. Way better breakfast spots without the Orange Messiah's stupid face spoiling the atmosphere.

Charlie's is like an old school breakfast spot. Everyone is like family the food is plentiful and the coffee is strong. The service was quick and friendly.

Wife and I ate at Charlie's Cafe for the first time this Sat, and let me tell you.. Service was amazing! Food was amazing! Super clean! Great environment and sweet ladies that work there.They are open early fristhose people that have alarm clock built in the mind for 5am.. able to get breakfast at 630. Wonderful

Let me start by first acknowledging how attentive our waitress was as well as the rest of the staff. We almost had everything without even having to speak. They were on top of it. Bravo for that. The location is very unsuspecting and kind of hidden... I almost didn't think this restaurant was in this plaza because how could it be? Well it is. It's clean and very cozy. The retro game at the front you can play while you wait is a fun touch!! And last but definitely not least... THE FOOD! So delicious. Just thinking about my plate is making my mouth water. The homestyle potatoes were like the traditional homestyle version and a potato wedge had a baby. I sort of fell back as I took a bite, surprised that this potato is among the best I've had in quite some time. This place is a pleasure and I will be back. Next time... waffles!!

First timers! Great experience. We arrived right before 10am and there was a little bit of a wait (as expected). We were seated as quickly as a booth opened up and the staff was extremely quick and friendly (and let me tell you, the place was busy)! The food was yummy and definitely homemade. My mom kept commenting on the country potatoes (pictured on both plates) because they were perfectly cooked and seasoned.I had the Battlefield Benedict and it was was flavorful. It was packed with bacon, avocado and spinach. Very filling. My mom had the Kitchen Sink Omelette and she enjoyed it a lot. It was huge (she took some to go).We will definitely visit again when we are in the area. I appreciated that they had a Christmas tree up already.

This review is for a breakfast visit. The overall atmosphere, service and food is like walking into a small town cafe but in a big city. It's a fixture in the community where a lot of locals come in with their neighbors or friends and have meal. Charlie makes an effort to get to know her costumer welcoming you when you return. The food portions is a value compared to what you pay. I have not had a bad meal here after several visits. I'm a regular of the "French Toast Combo" two eggs, four half's of french toast, two bacon, two links sausage. Plenty of free parking, and restrooms very clean.

It wasn't bad but it wasn't amazing hence the 3* rating. Service was great at seating with drinks but then we were forgotten about. Tables that were seated after us had orders taken before us. The coffee runner was on top of it so maybe it was just our waitress. Biscuit and gravy: gravy was bland and tasteless. Homestyle potatoes were very good. Omelette was good sized portion for sure. Upon going to pay the bill I saw their political leanings (MAGA and Trump) so we won't be back.

My wife and I went here for the first time today and We loved it!! I think everyone working came by our table to ask if we needed anything,fill up our water etc.The food was great!! I don't know if the biscuits are baked from scratch but they were so good.We got a cinnamon roll to go and omg it was great warmed up with some butter.I would suggest bring your own vanilla creamers for your coffee as they don't have any and we are fine with that.Everyone was so friendly and l loved the 49er shrine on the wall and the big Elvis Picture.This will be our Saturday morning spot from now on!!
