Quesabirria tacos. So greasy I could not eat!

Okay, real talk - we've all been there. That morning after where you need something greasy, delicious, and life-affirming. Enter Chondo's on J Street, my unexpected savior. We were desperately craving Mexican food and zero human interaction. Their online ordering? Absolute lifesaver. I clicked, they prepared, and within minutes I had a feast that was delicious! The staff were great! Warm smiles and quick service. And can we talk about these portions? They did NOT hold back. My burrito was basically a delicious weapon of mass satisfaction. My only tiny critique? Their online menu is a bit of a mystery. There is no detail as to what is in each item. What's a vampiro? Are there beans in this? A little description would help us culinary adventurers know what we're diving into. Overall, The food was incredible, prices were totally fair, and they turned my rough morning into a "Netflix and recover" dream. Our chorizo nachos and el pastor burrito were amazing and definitely hit the spot!

We come here when we go to Jackrabbit brewing Co.Their salsa bar was a bit messy and needed the green salsa to be replenished. We ordered a burrito (adobada), taco de papa, and quesataco (fish). The piece of fish was small, but the burrito and taco de papa were good. Service could be friendlier. They have a Happy Hour menu now, but not sure that we'd come back.

My work has ordered a few times from this location. I always call in the order (vs. ordering online) to make sure a real person hears my special requests, in case something gets lost in translation or left out. Most recently we all jumped on the "Taco Tuesday" deal, $2.50 per taco. I picked it up at my designated time, and was lucky to get a parking spot. The lot is small but there is also street parking in the neighborhood. The cashier (manager?) was friendly and polite and gave us chips & salsa (not sure if that normally comes with any order, or if it was a freebie because we had a large order?). There was an issue with one of my orders but the cashier/manager took care of it right away. I love and appreciate when I receive caring and efficient customer service! Thank you to the staff at Chando's. Great food and service!

Absolutely the worst service in town ! Aside from generic Mexican food with excessive grease, the two ladies working the place on 1/4/2025 had no customer service skills at all. Lazy, rude and with no concern for a question I had regarding the menu they chatted away and ignored our questions regarding the types of meats the place provided. If a company does not want your business they should continue to hire these types of people. We left disappointed and will never recommend this garbage of an institution to any of our friends or colleagues who live in LA or Sacramento, just and FYI to the owners.

Food - ordered two taco's - fish taco and asada taco. the fish taco was good, but the sauce was a little spicier than what I'm used to. The asada was ok. The meat wasn't super tender and the flavor was only alright. My friends did order the buche and said it was AMAZINGLY tender and awesome. The chips were free but they were so bland. Also their options for sauce were limited - they had mild, spicy and some other option but they didn't have pico unless you ordered an item that came with it and other sauces.Service - staff were super friendly. They did have a machine to order on, but you can't pay with it, so you just order there and pay right next to it with the cashier. It's probably easier to just order and pay at the cashier, unless there's a long line then you can get a head start on your order but you'd still have to pay at the cashier next to it.Ambiance - a bit run down, a bit small (there weren't a ton of seating available on a Saturday afternoon) but when we arrived, we did find seating. It just filled up rather quickly but people do eat pretty fast so it doesn't seem like too much of an issue.

Have loved Chando's since their early days with a single walk up window out near Del Paso heights. But due to long lines and locations not particularly close, and really best when dining in so the food isn't cold and somewhat soggy by the time you eat it, it's been a few years since we've been. Never been to this location where Opa Opa used to be. We were glad to see that there was no line, but sad that on a Friday night there was no one else in the restaurant for essentially the entire time we were there. But the flavors of their meats are still fantastic. So many places under-flavor their meats, depending on the condiments to add the flavor, but Chando's meats never skip on flavor. The asada tacos are always great. Tried the birria tacos for the first time and they were delicious but already soggy and falling apart at first bite. Definitely reminded me of why we used to frequent Chando's more often, and why it's so important to not do takeout. But I think times are tough for the restaurant industry. Eating out is just too pricey. Compared to the cost and poor quality of other fast food places, Chando's is worth the additional cost. But just can't afford to do it too often.

Lunchtime visit with little brother. He likes burritos so I decided to copycat that. Birria burrito, no guacamole or avocado (allergic!) He got the carne asada burrito, which comes with a good shmear of avocado. Fresh made on the spot. Tasted fresh and good! Pleasant and professional staff.

During busy lunch hours, my partner and I were greeted quickly and the cashier was very friendly with better recommendations than what we had in mind. Our food came out 10 minutes later because there were so many customers, so it's understandable! The food was very filling! I got the birria combo and my partner got the adobada burrito. The birria tacos were a little stale on the outline more than crunchy. Overall, the saltiness of the meat and cheese was up to par, very tender and a nice full bite. The consomé was flavorful and herby with chunks of the birria meat at the bottom with fresh onions and cilantro floating in the consomé-- I always love a fresh crunch! As for the burrito, it was a little flat and in the photo it looks like I'm squeezing the heck out of that burrito but I was trying to make it look like there was full potential in a flat burrito, lol. It was little more on the bland side. My partner was not much of a fan. Next time we will try different meats/dishes!

I happened to really like chandos as a taco truck. Had not been to one in a while.I ended up ordering a door dash from here for a group of co-workers and I was disappointment. I got the fish burrito and it was cold when it arrived, the sauce was dripping out of it. I am guessing it might have been a frozen fish put into the burrito. My other colleagues got the norcal, bean and cheese burrito, and the bowls. No one raved about it. All somewhat mediocre. Plus they forgot one of our ordersWould not order from here again.

Very good. Tasty burrito bowl very much. Enjoyed with a kind staff. Couldn't have asked for a better and the salsa is good too.
