Chandara Thai

Driven past Chandara Thai a handful of times, and the lights strung outside have always caught my eye. I knew when we had the opportunity to go out in the area, that I wanted to check this place out! I'll preface my review with this: I'm used to Bay Area Thai food. I usually order medium, and then add more chile or spice as needed because some places make their mediums pretty warm. The food we ordered medium here had little to no spice, I definitely would call it mild and will probably order hot next time. With that said, the food was all fresh and delicious. They served us in what seemed like minutes after ordering, and our dishes had great presentation. We ordered wine to go with our meal, which was surprisingly affordable. It's not posted in the standard menu, but they do have a separate wine list you may need to ask for if you'd like wine. Overall, the interior had nice ambiance, the staff were friendly and we had a good experience here. I'd say if you're a Thai food lover in Grass Valley, it's worth giving them a try.

My son, husband and I all looooove the soups and pot stickers. So delicious. Great for a cold winter day. Highly recommend theirs soups on a cold winter day.

We ordered takeout and were sorely disappointed that this is considered one of the "best" thai spots around. The pad thai had no peanuts, or sauce. The fried rice had less than 5 pieces of chicken, and stank like dirty feet. The only edible item we got was the chicken basil dish, which was yummy and the only reason we gave it a second star. After spending over $60 in food, more than half went into the trash.

My mom's birthday week merited her choice of lunch one day, so we ended up at Chandara. Refreshing iced Thai tea started us off right. We had the appetizer spring roll - insides were tasty, but rice paper was very tough (maybe they make the rolls ahead - could benefit from another dip in water just before serving so they would be more tender). Plenty of peanut sauce. We paired that with a yummy chicken pad Thai and cool sweet/sour cucumber salad (and some more peanut sauce!). We will be back!

Once again, this is the best Thai Food in town! Hands down!! Service is meh, but the food is legit! We need to support businesses like this because if we don't, they'll be gone and we will no longer have amazing Thai food. Chandara is great!!

Ordered delivery with door dash this evening. 1st time getting Thai since moving to Grass Valley. Food was good. Unfortunately the tied bag they gave the dasher was missing an item I was looking forward to the most, the $17.99 pineapple curry. I suppose $20 shouldn't seem like much when you spend over $100 ‍ the prices definitely seemed high but like I said it was my first time ordering Thai up here...

Had my friend's birthday dinner here! Great service and food :) The environment is super cute, we will be back!

I have been wanting to eat here but honestly the reviews are so awful I was skeptical. However tonight we were in the area and my daughter wanted thai coconut soup. The soup was great. They didn't follow exact instructions on spice level or veggie omissions, but it was great and easy to look passed. Also ordered the tofu with thick rice noodles spicy. Oops. It was really Spicy. But also really good. And I ordered the yellow curry. It was so-so not very much to it. Asked for other veggies and no potato and there were just onions and curry. But not bad. Not bad for grass valley

Very good food, prices, reasonable, and nice ambience and staff we will be coming back again

-What a great find!! Some of the best Thai food my husband and I have had. We had potstickers and Panang chicken. We will definitely be back!
