I love our local Farmers Market. It's open mainly in the summer and is my main source of fruit. It's more expensive then Safeway, but it's more convent and you can buy each week only what you eat. They also let you taste the fruit before you buy it. This farmer's market is much less expensive then then one on Saturday's in Midtown on J &20th. Sometimes I also get veggies. They have good deals on bock Choy, corn, cucumbers from time to time. They also have pastries, but they seem expensive and the open air ones tend to collect flies. The tamales used to be great, but now tend to be dried out or it was just that batch. And sadly the chips are overpriced. I don't get why.I keep coming back every year for their fruit. I'll be sad when they are gone.

My #1 Favorite Downtown Sacramento Farmer's MarketSITREPAt the lunch hour in downtown Sacramento, there are several different Farmer's Markets that occur during the week between the beginning of May through acceptable seasonability in October.Depending on the day of the week, the schedule of markets runs something like this:* Sunday Farmer's Market - Under the Business 80 Freeway @ 8th Street* Certified California Grown Farmer's Market at Roosevelt Park on Tuesday* Certified Farmer's Market at Fremont Park ALSO on Tuesday* Farmer's Market at Cesar Chavez Park at 8th & I Streets on Wednesday* Capitol Mall Farmer's Market between 5th & 6th Streets on ThursdayTHE OFFERINGSIn terms of market offerings, there are many things available, including fresh produce, breads, and food vendors. All things being equal, many of the same produce vendors here are found at the other markets as well on different days.MY FAVORITE MARKETWhy this market is my favorite is because of a couple of reasons:(1) There is a bread vendor that has the most exquisite Cheese Breads, and the two that I enjoy the most are their "Jalapeno Cheese Bread" and their "Jalapeno-Garlic Cheese Bread." Each loaf of bread is $3.75.(2) There is also a Tamale lady who sells the best chicken or chili relleno tamales for $2 each. FURTHER WALKThe irony is I have to walk SIX (6) BLOCKS past the Farmer's Market at Roosevelt Park at 9th & Q Streets in order to walk to the Farmer's Market at Fremont Park since they occur at the same time (or I time it right, I just hope the light rail with stations near both of the markets).THE LOWDOWNWorth traveling the extra distance to get the yummy items I want.

Farmers Market on a Tuesday! I am going to try to keep this a tradition on every Tuesday. Wake up early go jog in midtown, then go to the farmers market and pick up some fresh fruits, veggies, and flowers for mum. Then go across to Insight coffee and have a nice warm hot latte. This Farmer's market is located on 15th and Q street, on Fremont park. It is not too big, there are a limited selections for flowers and fruits, just fyi. It is quite small but hey everything looks great! I almost couldn't resist and just want to throw everything in my picnic basket. Anyways my main point for this destination is to grab some fresh flowers for mom. Just to surprise her because i love her! I was hunting down all the flower vendors, but there is one vendor who is nice and sells a big bouquet for only $7! It is so pretty, big, and colorful. The bouquet really brightens up my morning, day! The first thing i did when i went home is find it a beautiful vase and put fresh water and threw in some ice in it to keep it refreshing. Some helpful hints is come here before 10:30am for first pick on everything. Because once those state workers get there it be crowded and a long line to fight, and no more first picks. Overall this is a small and limited farmers market, i will keep continuing to support this one vendor my friend recommended me to get my flowers. Also great place to get everything i need, and its across from insight, so that means one stop for everything and I'm all set! If your hungry they have Rosa's Tamales, where their horchata was calling and written all over me, but i was good to resist that temptation while i walked by it. hehe.... Anyways thanks for reading, stay fresh! Stay cool in the upcoming warm weathers.

I just love taking a walk in the park and seeing what fresh produce is available at the local farmers market, The air is filled with so many good sniffs at this place. I can smell everything from fresh strawberries to the flower bouquets! The whole park is lined with tents from local vendors and the quality of the produce is amazing! The vendors here are all very helpful and friendly too! There is a Greek food truck that smells amazing and I'm happy to see others enjoying the day! Now enough with this yelping nonsense, I'm going to start shopping!

Fremont Park.. mMMm.. It smells like that because bums congregate there. The market is from 10am-2pm on Tuesdays.. I made my way over after 1pm and it was close to shut down. Only a few stands were still up. They line the perimeter of the park on the side across from Mochii, mostly. I saw a lot of bundled items into bags for a flat price. Or maybe it's because I was there so late that it was all or nothing..

Really cool farmers market held on Tuesdays in the awesome Fremont Park. Great place to go during a lunch break and have a picnic. They have tons of fruits and veggies for sale and a few food carts selling their treats too. You might have to circle the block a few times to find parking though. Can't wait to go back and try more BBQ from Joshua's Ribbs.

I'm one of those state workers Eduardo C. mentions quickly escaping from my building at lunch time. I love that I'm within walking distance of this market, so I definitely make use of my Tuesday lunch break and stock up on produce for the week. This week I scored mix n' match nectarines, peaches, pluots, and apricots for $1.00/lb. Apricots were pretty tasteless, but the rest of the stash has been yummy so far. Also picked up some cucumbers and bell peppers for a great deal. It isn't the biggest market in town, and it does get crowded, but it works for me when I don't want to head out on Sunday morning to the larger ones.

I bought the teriyaki chicken (well I tried to) and the prices have obviously gone up. I bought (or I tried to) 2 pieces of chicken on white rice with 2 eggrolls. When I brought it back to my desk all I had in my box was white rice and shredded iceberg lettuce. And 2 eggrolls. That costed me 11.50! Never again.
