I have been eating at Cattlemen's my whole life and I love it so much! The blue cheese dressing is like crack! The prime rib here is top notch. I hope this place never ever closes! Lifelong customer here!Pro tip, if it's busy, the bar is open seating and you can order dinner in there!

The service was great and wait wasn't that long on a Monday night. I sat in a booth and the lamp was bright which makes the red meat look brighter red. The sourdough bread was fresh and amazing with butter. The Salad though simple, but fresh and tasty. The ambiance and decor has a rustic look with old memorabilia. I ordered the Prime rib - "Cattleman's" cut on 10-28-24 at around 7PM. Medium Rare. It comes out looking purple, then there's a hot metal plate the server trickles some juice on and it sizzles slightly then the slab of prime rib gets placed onto the hot plate and sizzles maybe a tiny bit.The resulting prime rib was almost inedible how chewy it was. The spinalis part was even chewy and the outer seasoned skin was inedible. I had to chew it like gum until a ball of silver skin like material would be small enough to swallow. There were about 5 bites I'm pretty sure Gordon Ramsay would have blurted out a curse word and sent it back to the kitchen.Seeing as how I've always loved prime rib since I was a young meat eater, this experience had me questioning whether or not I should take a break from prime rib... I think it might have had to do with it being close to being raw. Now rewind time when I've been here before and ordered a ribeye and it was fantastic. It's just the Prime Rib experience needs some improvement. The raw horseradish was incredibly potent and nasal clearing, it also came with some tasty aus jous and creamy horse radish. The Garlic fries came out not very crispy, almost suspect that it was baked french fries and it might have waited a bit before being served as it was not hot.The thing is I've purchased Harris ranch beef before and have encountered similar "chewy" cuts of meat so it didn't really come as a Suprise if the prime rib did come from Harris Ranch plus it could have been undercooked with the intramuscular fat and tissue not rendered.I do have to compliment the attentive service, and I also disclaim that I did not have an upset stomach the day after. But for $39.99, i'm not expecting "steakhouse" prime rib, but at least give me something I'm not leaving chewed up connective tissue all over the plate. I used the included serrated steak knife to try and cut smaller pieces of prime rib but it required lots of tearing and pulling. On a good note, the small little kettle of smoked beans was tasty and perfectly seasoned so I gobbled that up.

My husband really wanted to go to Cattleman's to celebrate his Birthday, with hesitation I agreed to give it another try after our last experience was bad. After waiting quite awhile for a table (we had reservations) we finally got seated. After about 10 min. sitting there our waiter finally arrived at our table to get our drink order. They arrived timely, less my drink. I was informed I would have to wait because there were no Clean glasses. (OKAY). I finally got it after another 10 min. We decided we better order our appetizers since the server seemed very over whelmed. After about 30 min. no appetizers yet so we asked if we could have some bread. Got that ok. Next thing you know here comes the salad. ( No appetizers yet) He forgot the tongs for the salad, dressings were incorrect. At this point, we figured just eat it. The server sucked. We finished the salad, still no appetizers. When we finally saw him. We decided to cancel the appetizers. After another 30 minutes here comes our entree order. We then noticed that the 4th entree never came. When we asked about it we got the deer in the headlight look. They ended up bringing the entree as an appetizers after we where almost done with our entrees. This by far was the worst experience ever at this place. Happy Birthday to my husband! Also, I don't know who the person is that kept coming down our row taking inventory on what was going on at each table on her tablet. It was VERY annoying. We saw her more than our dam waiter. We have been coming to Cattleman's for over 30 years (Starting in Livermore). It's really sad that this will no longer be our go to steak house. So disappointing.Update: I want to thank Cattleman's for reaching out quickly on this review. They explained what may have happened and invited us back to make it right. Thank you Cattleman's.

We have been dining at Cattlemans since the 1970's. We ordered the Tuesday special sirloin steak meals. The salad bowl was light on lettuce and it was barely enough for the 2 of us. The thousand island dressing was not thick as usual, it was thin and runny. The steaks arrived with butter on the top. The butter never melted because the steaks were cold. They were also over cooked, and very well done, which makes these low quality steaks very chewy. The potatoes were also cold, and the butter did not melt. The bread and beans were fine. The service was good.We have had so many poor meals at Cattlemans, that we decided not to complain on this visit, and instead to never return.

We walked in on a Saturday night . It was busy but that's to be expected . We were lucky to get 2 seats at the bar with in 10 minutes . Our two bar tenders Mike G , and Kaylee took care of us right away . Our drinks were served up quickly and the appetizers followed right after . We had the Brussels sprouts and the calamari. For our main course I had the ribeye cowboy cut . And my wife had the prime rib. . If you're looking for a great steak , great service and fun time .... Check out Cattleman's for a great family dinner . our servers were awesome! Mike G and Kaylee hooked it up .

Main course food was good, but overpriced for what you get. The appetizer whose name I forgot was just o.k. Service was o.k. Waters got topped off but the only soft drink at our table didn't.The sitting area has open dining with tables in the middle and booths along the walls. We had reservations for a Friday night and it was pretty well packed so the noise level was loud. We've been driving by Cattleman's for years and it was on our bucket list to try. I'm glad we got to taste it for ourselves but unfortunately, service as a whole missed the mark and wasn't great enough to feel the need to return.

Our second dinner here. Our first was more than 10 years ago for a steak and rib meal. This time was to try out Cattlemen's Happy Hour. We sat ourselves on a table for two in the saloon area. Our server got our waters and took our orders from the HH menu a short while after. For drinks, I got the Diily red wine deal and Pendleton Sour. My wife opted for the Horseshoe Margarita and Raspberry Lemon Drop. These libations would score a 5 of 5 for us.For bites, we got the Beef Kabob, Garlic Fries, Prime Rib Tacos, Baby Back Pork Ribs and Lamb Lollipops. A bit underwhelmed with the dry meats except for the succulent skewered sirloin on the kabobs.Cattlemen's made a great excuse for us to spend time during happy hour saloon specials from 4-6 p.m. & 9-10 p.m. It's good that business is doing great judging by the foot traffic coming in during a week night.

I love Cattlemens for its reasonable prices and generous portions.Happy Hour happens 2x a day EVERY DAY in the Saloon: 4-6 PM & 9-10 PM!I'm still working my way through the Happy Hour menu, but so far, I like the $10 LAMB LOLLIPOPS and $6 GARLIC FRIES. The tender lamb lollipops aren't that big. I think I could eat 2 orders of it, but 1 order is likely the healthy meal portion size of meat. I didn't care for the $6 Loaded Potato Skins, which were too overbaked by the end of the day. I was lukewarm about the $8 Prime Rib Tacos. I am not big on tortillas and like to have access to lots of salsa or aioli, which is not the case here. I ended up using the steak sauce on the table. The thin slices of prime rib are good. I want to try the $8 Baby Back Pork Ribs and $10 Beef Kabob with its 3 different cubes of steak one day.The Saloon Sandwiches menu looks enticing as well: $17.99 Prime Rib French Dip with Au Jus OR $15.99 1/2 Pound Smoky BBQ Bacon Burger or Classic Cheeseburger. Sandwiches come with French fries.I love the $27.99 PETE'S SPECIAL classic 10 oz SIRLOIN STEAK dinner! You get warm sourdough bread with butter, ALL YOU CAN EAT SALAD (my favorite!), baked beans, and your choice of side: Rice, Baked Potato, Mashed Potatoes, or Veggie Medley as of 3/27/24. For a $2.99 upgrade, you could choose the signature Rustler Spud (twice baked potato), Sweet Potato, or Garlic Fries. It was so much food that I had leftovers to bring home. You could just order the AYCE SALAD for $11.99. I often think I could be content and healthier with just that. Meant to be shared with the table, the salad comes with red onions, cucumber, tomatoes, and croutons in a large stainless steel bowl. You choose and mix in the salad dressing yourself. The Beef and Bean Chili comes with pineapple chunks! Unusual, but still edible. You can get a cup for $4.99.The Beef & Reef or Surf & Turf Combos seem affordable. You can also Create Your Own Combo, adding your favorite seafood to any dinner entree: Lobster Tail, Dungeness Crab, or Shrimp (Grilled, Scampi, Fried, or Bacon Wrapped). There are also shrimp appetizers and shrimp dinner entrees that seem good value."The Chopper" with 1 pound of ground sirloin, 2 cheeses, bacon, and mushrooms sounds meaty and filling.I'd be interested in trying the Seafood, Chicken, & Pasta entrees someday: Grilled Salmon, 10 Jumbo Shrimp Your Way, Porcini Mushroom Ravioli, or Dakota Chicken with its bacon, mushrooms, melted cheddar cheese, and honey mustard sauce. All sound yummy to me.The dessert menu has variety: Warm Chocolate Chip Cookie with Vanilla Ice Cream, Brownie Sundae, Triple Chocolate Cake, New York Cheesecake, Carrot Cake, and Deep Fried Apple Pie. I'm most interested in the chocolate cake, carrot cake, and deep fried apple pie.Huge list of wines, cocktails, and dessert cocktails.Service is polite, attentive, and generous. Despite going to the later Happy Hour, I am never rushed out. Ask and you will often receive. I am allowed to pick anywhere I'd like to sit in the saloon, which has bar counter seats, booth seats, and regular tables.I like the dark wooden country western theme carried throughout the restaurant (even the restrooms!).There is a party or banquet room for private events. Catering packages are available. You can also do takeout on custom cut raw steaks! Here are all the menus for you to explore:https://www.cattlemens.com/menu/downloads/A kid 12 and under can become a Junior Deputy and get a free meal by buying a $18.99 Jr. Deputy T-shirt and wearing it to the restaurant each visit. The Cattlemens Steak & Barbecue Sauce doesn't seem too unhealthy. 2 Tablespoons is 1 g of fat, 150 mg of sodium, and 10 g of carbs. I assume it's available for purchase.I'm sure there's something to suit everyone, so mosey on down to Cattlemens!

I am now convinced, after my second trip here, that this is very mediocre steak house at best. My complaints range from chewy grisly meat, butter that is too hard to spread on the bread, blue cheese dressing that really does not qualify for a decent blue dressing, and please stop putting those tasteless, cherry tomatoes in your salads. Like most restaurants these days, marginal food and high prices.

Great place to grab a delicious steak! I like my steak black & blue & it is rarely cooked the way I order it-Not the case at Cattelmens! Every single time it is spot on! Seasoning is so great you don't even need salt & pepper!!!They have a 2 lb Porterhouse- $49 bucks & I have steak for dinner next day- I strongly suggest if you are looking for a good carnivore meal- Cattelmens is just the place!!
