Great cafeteria located on the corner of R St and Alhambra Blvd. I've had so many great meals here, from a breakfast to some fantastic lunches. If you're lucky enough to visit on a day that they have chalupa as the daily lunch special, I'd highly recommend it. Breakfast burritos are a solid staple here, with choices of bacon, sausage, chorizo. You can also order a special burrito like I do with extra bacon. Open for breakfast and lunch on weekdays only, they're worth stopping in.

Breakfast is only served to 10:30. We arrived at 11 and they agreed to make an egg breakfast sandwich but I think that was stretching it because she said they were "very busy right now". But the place was almost empty so I strained to keep an understanding expression. (:-)I didn't add $4 chicken to my salad so it was just under $18 for the salad and sandwich. The location is tucked into the corner of a government building. Parking is across the street.

It's an excellent restaurant to work with for catering events! Cher is professional and knowledgeable. She helped me through the process and gave me great food and bar recommendations. Their pricing is fair, and I will hire them for my next event in Sac!

In this edition of downtown stateworker brunch / lunch time, we have a hidden gem named Casablanca Cafe. They specialize in breakfast and lunch and can be a tad bit hard to find due to doing double duty as a Cafe for a state agency, a catering entity and a restaurant that serves yummy food. Quick ratings: Sausage breakfast burrito 5 stars out of 5; it was so good I could have ate 2 if my stomach permitted. The star of this show was the farm fresh omelet which scored 100 stars out of 5. Sacramento is the farm to fork capitol and this holds up that reputation.

I walked in here and it was empty during breakfast. Usually a bad sign but I was starving. I looked over the menu, 11.99 for an omelet with toast and hash browns, bacon .75 extra. I felt that it was overpriced but again, I was starving so I paid. I got my food and went to my spot to eat. The sourdough toast was thick, toasted perfectly and flavorful. The hash browns were standard but I got two, so that's value. The omelet was THICK. DELICIOUS. Tons of bacon and cheese. I only ate half and I was full. The amount of food and the quality is above and beyond. This is a hidden spot in midtown that needs more attention because the food is awesome. And it was quick, maybe 5 minute wait. Great customer service. 5 stars.

The Casablanca Café is the spot, the food taste good, priced well with nice sized portions. The menu is simple with a daily specials and the soup they serve in the fall and winter is great and priced even better. The cooks and cashiers are all nice, and the ceiling to floor windows make for a nice place to eat.
