I don't think I've been here in about 20 years (maybe more). I'm over the moon to find all these solid reviews for this family owned and run (and at this point) legendary establishment! At first I was concerned that the place was so busy but the staff here hustle! We were tended to quickly, our food arrived swiftly, and we were checked on often.A great hearty breakfast meal, at competitive pricing, and the service is absolutely wonderful. Our server Joyce was attentive, kind, and helpful. She really made the meal and visit as special as it was today.

I can't believe, we've been coming to this place for over 10 years now, and I still haven't written a review! S/O to the staff, Rachel, Jamie, Holly, and Matt amongst others, are always so friendly and helpful. They make sure you have everything you need, and Carol's never skimp on the portions. The food is classic breakfast fare, but it's not your typical greasy spoon. You get a good-sized meal for a reasonable price, and it's way better than those fancy breakfast places that charge an arm and a leg for bland food. We've become regulars here, and we feel like part of the family. I usually get their breakfast burger, and sometimes I ask them to swap out the buns for grilled sourdough bread--it's amazing! My husband loves their Big Billy (secret menu) burger, which is a country fried steak-style burger. It's not like a regular burger with a side of fries. You get a whole country fried steak, and it's delicious. We also love their breakfast skillets (weekend specials or secret menu) which is an all-in-one meat experience. It's a must-try! When they have the cinnamon roll pancakes, make sure you get there early before they sell out--they're incredible! And their sourdough French toast is huge and so good. They're so good that the only downside is there might be a long wait time (15-20 minutes) on weekends at certain hours. But it's worth it. If you have a big group, call ahead for a table. Overall, this is that old-school mom-and-pop breakfast spot that will leave you full or with leftovers. I had the pleasure of meeting Carol and now her son Raymond taking over the legend. Keep it up!Sincerely The Boyz (Sundays)

I have worked close to this restaurant for 3 years. In that time, I have had a ton of different items on the menu. Let me tell you, that they never disappoint! The service is quick. The mimosas are huge. The food is hot and fresh, and it is all served with a smile. I love this place.

When I'm in the mood for a hearty breakfast, such a steak and eggs or pancakes, I head over to Carol's and grab a spot at the counter. Jaime is usually the one up front and has become my favorite server. The food is consistently solid. I have never had a meal that I didn't love. The restaurant is homey and comforting. It feels like a hug from your grandma. If you're a fan of bread pudding, you must try theirs. It's made in house and is a hefty serving. I still have dreams about it. My only qualm is that they don't have vanilla ice cream to serve it with. I just ask for extra whipped cream.

We aren't usually diner people, but needed something relatively quick and hearty on a road trip down south. We chose Carol's because of the close location to the interstate, their early opening hours, and the menu that had something for everyone. And it worked out great!First of all, there was one woman working the entire floor alone. I watched her service 9 tables, several patrons at the counter, and manage at least 6 Door Dash orders solo and she was incredible. Positive attitude, hustled, and worked that place like a consumate pro. Hats off to this woman and her incredible stamina and work ethic. The food was good, filling, and very economical. Less than $10 a plate for a huge amount of food that was pretty tasty! I ordered the corned beef hash (fresh corned beef, not canned) and it was good. Hubby got breakfast quesadillas and was very pleased. Kid ordered the kids pancake meal which came in cute shapes and she was unable to finish it all. Free coffee refill were appreciated, especially so early in the morning! We noticed a huge table of rotating WSPD officers occupying a side of the room, so this must be a popular spot to start or finish a shift. We enjoyed seeing our men and women in blue conversing and enjoying a local spot. All in all satisfying meal, quick and friendly service, and a great bang for your buck. We will likely return under similar circumstances again.

My most favorite breakfast place! It has been around for decades. There is almost always a wait, but well worth it. Servers are awesome and the staff is very attentive. My favorite thing to order is the Breakfast Enchiladas with Chil Verde, their green enchilada sauce is so yummy. the pancakes are also fantastic. This is a must try for anyone looking for breakfast.

Weekend (and sometimes weekday) breakfast is starting to become a trend and I love it! This is exactly the kind of place I love to come for a great breakfast :) The service is fantastic, even when they are super busy. Food is always yummy and the restaurant is always buzzing with folks coming in and out.Regular order is a westerner omelette, one chocolate chip pancake to share with my bf, and a BISCUIT! Don't miss out on the biscuit.

Saw a post on IG about Carol's and decided to try it. Apparently everyone else knew about this gem and didn't tell me because it's been around for ages. You definitely get more bang for your buck here and their food is soo good. If you're looking for quality food at a reasonable price, I highly suggest ditching IHOP and go to Carol's instead. You won't regret it.

Left Elite Dog Training and my wife was starving. She was a little skeptical of the area as we drove down West Capitol Avenue, and I convinced her the food was great. Been here once before.AmbianceIt is dated but very clean. They pack u in tight like sardines. Reminds me of Pancake Circus on Broadway but the food and service is way better.ServiceMatt was great, the menu is large so he made some suggestions. He kept the coffee coming. FoodChicken Fried Steak and EggsSo freakin good, gravy cooked perfectly. Hard to find good chicken fried steak in SacStrawberry Waffle Breakfast. Matt said the strawberries are fresh in a glaze, home made whipped cream. I get a little skeptical when it comes to strawberries in glaze, funnel cakes at State Fair never have fresh strawberries. Matt was right strawberries are fresh.Everything is a 5. When I am in area for breakfast this is the place.

I've been visiting my favorite breakfast place on Saturday mornings with my parents and brother for nearly three years. I absolutely love it here; everyone is friendly, kind, and polite. The food is consistently delicious every single time. I'll definitely keep coming back as my go-to breakfast spot. Thank you all! A special shout out to Rachel and Matt!
