I was really hoping to give a five star review but was quite disappointed. I called ahead to see if they sell Tri Tip by the pound. The gal that answered the phone told me they do and it was $8.99 per lb. I thought it was a great deal and drove over. I've heard great things about Carol's through our local news station, so I was expecting the same. When I got there, the gal at the counter asks the kitchen and she says, it's $24.99! I was a bit annoyed and irritated but didn't refuse it since I drove a half an hour to buy it! Really??!! You're going to charge me triple the price you quoted? UhhhhWhen I got the Tri Tip, it didn't look so good either. It was really disappointing. I guess if you put it in a sandwich it would be ok? Oh well, I guess I'll know next time, if there is a next time? Really a terrible experience, we didn't even eat it, gave it to our dog. At least she's happy! I'm hoping that Carol's can maybe train their workers better? At least in my experience, to charge a customer 3x's the price is a bit ludicrous!

Such a cute deli and market with a huge selection of hot food. Options for sandwiches. They also bbq daily with some of the best tritip sandwiches. Staff is always friendly. They also carry a variety of products local to the area bbq sauces olive oils wine.

I usually get a sandwich out of the refrigerator case and those are worth driving from Antelope but today I grabbed a hot tri-tip out of the heated case. Then I noticed 1/2 order of biscuits and gravy, let me tell you this is the best location west of the Mississippi river. The sandwiches are worth a 30 minute drive but the biscuits and gravy are worth the drive from Texas.

Market and deli in Newcastle I underestimated how bit of a drive this market and deli was from Roseville, it was a good thing I didn't go during my 30-min lunch during the week because there was quite a bit of traffic on I-80 too both ways.I arrived at the location in Newcastle. It's a small town country convenience store and deli selling a variety of local favorite goods. I visited twice to try their sandwiches. The first time I was here I chose a turkey, cheddar, avocado cold sandwich and picked up a Hawaiian fruit salad type of dessert to go with it. Today I came back to try a hot sandwich and got the Tri tip garlic. Both sandwiches were fresh, good and tasty.There is no seating inside so you basically just grab and go and eat your lunch somewhere. There are benches just outside the store. The owner is friendly and helpful especially during my first visit. I've seen many locals drop by, and truckers too (w/o the load on their trucks). This is not a truck stop. The parking is small. If you want something quick to munch on on your way to Reno this is a good place to stop by. Very close to Interstate 80. They do catering service too. Located on Taylor Road in Newcastle. Carol's market catered our 42 person family reunion and did a great job preparing all the food.We had sliced brisket and smoked pulled pork and it was delicious. All the sides were great as well!Salads, baked beans, corn bread, dinner rolls

Had to order a sandwich to be made because I am allergic to tomatoes! Terrible sandwich! Made from the heal of the bread! Dry! I asked not to put tomatoes on my sandwich because I'm allergic!!! She put tomatoes on my sandwich!! Not going back!!

I'm almost positive this was a fluke because the other reviews are great but my experience was not nearly as nice. I ordered a tri tip sandwich and a large hot coffee from doordash. Hot coffee was ice cold as was the tri tip sandwich. The coffee tasted good but the tri tip had a plastic taste. Overall not a great first experience but I'd be willing to try again.2.5/5

Best smoked Tri tip I've ever had! Great service and amazing family owned business. A store with small list of amenities, but you can get pork ribs, Tri tip, smoked chicken. Carol's market is not only great for sandwiches, groceries, and drinks. It is also great at catering meals for nearly any sized event. We recently attended a family reunion which was catered by Carol's Market. Tracy and crew did an amazing job, and the food was superb! Everyone was extremely satisfied, and no one left hungry.We have used the services of Carol's Market before when my Newcastle family were all ill, I called Carol's Market and inquired about a food delivery to my family's home.
