Carnitas we're amazing and so we're the tortillas. Service was friendly. Family friendly. Everyone one there was enjoying.

BEST CARNITAS IN TOWN. Period. Some of these reviews are funny. The guy talking about the "ambiance" is a trip. Anyways, if you know a damn think about authentic carnitas, you know there is no better place to go. They literally have a cauldron right in front of you to watch the process. The smell of lard hits you in the face as soon as you enter, that's a good thing. The tortillas are fluffy and delicious. EVERYONE is friendly.Only open on weekends and until food runs out. Don't go here if you are too bougie (Ryan!) for an authentic experience...

So here's the thing about this place. Their carnitas are really good, full of flavor and very soft. The problem about this place though is that their business hours are false advertised. They're only open on the weekend from morning to 3pm. I don't understand why? It's a shame for their business. One star for this business because their hours of operation is inconvenient for customers. Sorry.

I tried this place today. Honestly this is the best place in Sacramento for authentic Mexican carnitas. I read the past reviews and in my experience they do not do this place justice. Please note this place is not like a chipotle or Rubio's. This place is run like a business in Mexico they open early and stay open until the product runs out. The owner told me they usually close around 3 or 4 and are ONLY OPEN ON WEEKENDS. I bought 2lbs of carnitas and 1 dozen handmade tortillas. The total was 23.00. This is going to be as authentic food as you will find in Sacramento. I would give it 5 more stars if I could.

I don't normally write reviews if I don't like the food, but I felt compelled to write this as a warning.I walked in at 5pm on a Friday. The place smelled so strongly of Fabuloso that I couldn't smell anything else. Ambiance: 0 I walked up to the counter, where the lady just stared at me, didn't smile and didn't greet me. Service: 0Finally, I glanced at the kitchen area expecting to see that amazing spit of meat I saw in another picture. However, there was no meat, except for the multiple bags of raw pork just sitting on the island table. Food: 0 So- no slow roasted meat(which sounded amazing when I saw pictures), bags of raw meat sitting out, unfriendly staff, and the overwhelming smell of cleaning products- I just turned and walked out the door. I was so excited to try, and now I'll never set foot in there again.

Service is not the best, I wanted tortillas because there menu says" fresh handmade tortilla" and they dint want to let me buy any. That's dumb. Plus carnitas were dry. I suggest they remove the fresh tortillas out of there menu if they are not going to let people buy them. Funny how there was 3 women in the back making them.

I had tried the carnitas from my family . So I thought to try it on my own. Went there people were having a party. Nobody had a mask and were drinking a lot. The owner came up to me I could tell he was drunk. Turn out they were closed and didn't lock the doors. He was rude like I walk into something , when here and online said they are open till 9 pm . Never coming back

It's delicious! Authentic and you won't get better carnitas anywhere else., it very reasonably priced as well.

Unfortunately they don't have the tacos Al pastor anymore. The barbacoa just sometimes. The carnitas are good but it's the only thing... It is a shame...
