Cappelli Wine

I came here for a tea party for galantines with the girls and was not disappointed. The food was great but the true star of the party was JOHN!. Every wine that we tasted was beyond amazing however it was because of John's energy and enthusiasm for the wine that we had such an amazing time. We started with the 2023 Bianco however the true star besides John was the Chardonnay and the Angelica port was beyond amazing. The service and ambiance was beyond amazing and that's all thanks to our server and wine connoisseur John. I live in Sacramento no I will definitely be back for this amazing wine bar.

Cristine is the best! Thank you for yet another amazing tasting experience this weekend. I love coming in to pick up my monthly wine club order and sampling Cappelli's latest offerings. Cristine is always so knowledgeable about the different varieties and makes great recommendations for pairing. Thanks again for a fun afternoon! I'm so glad I stopped in for a wine tasting flight with some friends! The tasting room is adorable and comfortable, and the woman pouring was so nice and efficient. It was one of the fastest tastings I've ever done which wasn't necessary a bad thing considering we were just wasting time until we could check into our Airbnb. Just note that the tastings are very small.The whites were good and I went home with 4 bottles of the Chardonnay (can't beat that price!!). I didn't like the reds, but I rarely like red wine anyway so I can't blame them for that--they were all very bold which just isn't my thing. The splash of their Angelica with some biscotti was SUCH a lovely touch. That was a treat!I love the bottles and the glass stoppers. So cool that you can get them refilled at a discount. I don't live close to do that but I'm definitely going to be using these for water when I have guests over. Will definitely add this to my list of stops during my yearly trek up to Apple Hill!

This review is for our specific experience with the manager (tall blonde lady). Came here w a group of friends as when we were walking by, two really friendly gentlemen said hi to us and told us about the place. They were really friendly so we decided to go inside and try their wineWe were seated right away and greeted by one of the friendly employees (long dark hair chick). We ordered our wine and it came out right away. My friends ordered two tasting flights while my boyfriend and I each ordered a glass. We were having the best time and the wine is actually not bad. We immediately decided to make this place a must visit every time we're in the area. Towards the end of our tasting. We noticed a couple sitting right behind us who were also having two flights and we noticed that their carafe is way much fuller than our friend's who also did two flights. The difference is almost halfway. When the friendly employee approached us to close our tab, we kinda mentioned that although our friends got two flights, they weren't as much as the couple right behind us (we did confirm that theirs is two flights). She felt bad and said she was gonna charge us for one flight and that's when the manager interrupted and told the friendly employee to charge us for the two flights. I mean obviously we paid, gave tip, and immediately left. Will we comeback? Most likely no The service didn't feel honest and equal among guests. No thank you.

Cappelli visits are always a joy -- thank goodness I'm a member and "have to" visit at least monthly. This Sunday was even better! Local musician Adam Beasley played live while a cozy group of us enjoyed Cappelli wine and caught up with each other. He was his usual talented self, and I was happy to sing along with a few of his offerings! Every Cappelli wine I've had has been stellar, so I'm especially bummed I didn't try the hibiscus mimosa Sunday. Wine Social Sundays at Cappelli are an absolute treat! Special shout-out to Christine and Nicole -- thanks for a great start to my Sunday!

Very friendly service from Stacey and beautiful ambiance. All of the wines are poured straight from the barrel, and are very delicious! Innovative and sustainable business practices by rewarding discounts for wine bottle refills/ returns. Don't be fooled by the amazing prices, the wines are very affordable but do not lack in flavor or depth!!

Came in a few days ago on a date, the wine assortment was impeccable, and the Angelica is a must-try! Also the sustainability model of their wine bottles is incredible. Unfortunately have to subtract one star as there was some strange tension in the tasting room - the blonde woman who was pouring wine was being weirdly aggressive towards another employee, it made the overall experience a bit uncomfortable.

We love this place, the wines and the staff. Stacy, the tasting room manager, is great and always friendly, so much so we feel like family walking in! Great local wines and extremely affordable prices. We recommend it to anyone in the area.

This is a beautiful place, with a cozy setting that invites anyone to come and relax with a tasting flight. It is quiet and friendly, a most welcome reprive from loud crowded bars. The view of downtown Placerville is wonderful, and we were impressed by every wine we tried. The dessert wines are particularly amazing.
