Had a great meal here with friends. The decor and ambiance was very nice. Our server was very engaged and accommodating without being overbearing. We ordered a bunch of stuff including the smoked goat, octopus tlacoyo, shrimp aguachile, charro beans, refried beans, red rice, duck mole taquitos, smoked beets and roasted cauliflower. Food was all solid. For me the cauliflower was my favorite bite, but I also loved the goat, the octopus, and the charro beans. The rice was a bit basic for the price. We also ordered 2 desserts and both (flan and the pecan tart) were good. Very enjoyable meal overall. I will say the weak link for the meal were the mixed drinks. We ordered an assortment and I found the balance on all of the drinks to be lacking. Pretty much only thing stopping me from giving this place 5 stars.I would return here.

I recently dined here on Valentine's Day--had a reservation, and I really appreciated that even though they offered a set menu option, you can still order off the regular menu. Parking is free, but it was super busy that night, so finding a spot was a bit of a challenge (though I'd imagine it's easier on a normal night). We were greeted with friendly smiles and seated promptly in a new, warm, and inviting space. That said, the tables are a bit too close together, so it got a bit noisy. Also, there wasn't a seat at the bar, and overall, the atmosphere was on the louder side. Our server was very kind and took the time to explain the menu in detail. This isn't your typical Mexican restaurant--it's more elevated and curated, with a focus on flavors from the northern Monterey region. Everything we tried was fresh, flavorful, and the drinks were excellent. Portions are modest, and prices reflect the quality of ingredients and inflation. If you are looking for a 3 item combo enchilada, taco rice and bean plate with pre-made margaritas for $20 this is not the place. I gave 4 stars because of the space just fell short for me. I would love to experience this food in a more intimate location. It's a unique dining experience, great for special occasions or when you're looking for something different. I am glad this place is in Folsom and even the Sacramento area as it is a unique menu. I'm looking forward to trying their happy hour next time (they do have a ample selection of tequilas)

From start to finish, this restaurant delivered an unforgettable dining experience. The attention to detail in presentation made each dish as visually stunning as it was delicious. We began with the Caesar salad, which came with housemade flour tortillas--a creative twist that transformed the dish into an interactive experience. Chopping the salad and loading it into a tortilla like a taco was an unexpected but brilliant way to enjoy the flavors. The result? Absolutely mind-blowing.For the main courses, the grilled salmon was expertly prepared, balancing a delicate smokiness with a perfectly flaky texture. The birria, made with goat rather than beef, was rich, deeply flavorful, and a welcome departure from the more common version. But the biggest surprise of the night was the roasted cauliflower--bursting with bold flavors and proving that a humble vegetable can be just as exciting as any protein on the menu.Every dish showcased thoughtful preparation and a willingness to push culinary boundaries. This isn't just a meal--it's an experience that delights at every turn.

I had the pleasure to eat here again and I absolutely loved my time here. What a special place!I had a few small items, but the standout for me this time was the Caesar Salad. It is served with flour tortillas. To eat the salad, you cut the salad and eat it with a tortilla. A truly special dining experience is when you have a common dish that is changed in a way that is surprising and enhances the dish. The service as usual was top notch and I always enjoy sitting at the bar and watching people make gorgeous drinks and having someone to chat with.I look forward to coming here with a larger party and trying some bigger plates. So here's to visiting again soon!

I had been waiting to come here for a while now so glad we made it in . We drove 40 mins just to eat here. Walking in the decor is very modern and nice . The restrooms is for everyone. You walk in and the doors close individually but u do share the space and area to wash your hands with anyone that walks in . Not bad never really seen this before . Our waiter was amazing his name was Doug he explained the menu to us . It could be a lot but he helped us . Doug was very helpful and attentive. We ordered drinks my favorite one was called Sol Dorado . I wish they had more Gin drinks I had the only Gin drink called Brissa Del Mar but ,I was not a fan . For food we ordered the Caesar salad , sweet potato which was amazing. For our main dish we ordered the cazuela (Asado De Puerco ) which is pork stew it came with handmade corn tortillas . We made some delicious tacos out of it . I had to get dessert they all sounded so good! We got the Smoked Pumpkin Tres Leches delicious. Overall, it was a different experience the food is a bit different and I'm Mexican BTW but it's from a part in Mexico called Monterey every part in Mexico has their own way of cooking . The menu its self is different you order to share . It's a little on the pricier side but the portions were a good size for sharing . I feel like for the main entree there is not that many options on there wish to see more . Overall we had a great time . Great food and ambiance.

Tried several dishes, enjoyed everything except the rice which was bland.Nice surprise to see that the chips & salsa include Gordita's! Took me back to my childhood. Not as good as my Grandmother's but still tasty. The Caesar salad was really good, they grill the lettuce slightly which gave it a nice smoky flavor. The Carne Asada Tacos which is served with bone marrow was very good. The meat was very tender and perfectly seasoned. The flour tortillas are homemade and fabulous! Bought extra for home. The service was great and our server did a great job of "selling" several dishes on the menu. The restaurant captures Mexican culture with a clean modern twist. All in all, a really nice dining experience.

Our first time here on a Tuesday night at 8:30pm (30 min before closing). Staff were very welcoming and our server gave us some great background about the restaurant. It was described as inspired by Monterey, Mexico cuisine which takes influence from BBQ and Mediterranean. Dishes are shared family style and it's recommended to get a few different things to try.For appetizers, we ordered the guacamole which came with housemade tostadas and the Tetela (basically a stuffed pita pocket with succotash - corn mix and beans and yogurt - reminded me of a samosa. We also got the special which was a chorizo open faced gordita (which was my fave). For the main dish we tried the cortadillo (beef stew) and got a side of red rice and beans. It was definitely enough for two plus leftovers.Drinks were pricey - I got La Pila (which tasted like an alcoholic coconut horchata) and my bf got a Paloma (but it tasted more like orange juice rather than grapefruit)...so that is the only critique we had.Overall a great time, excellent service, aesthetically pleasing, and delicious! Hoping this restaurant succeeds because it's definitely a gem.

My parents had a gift card here so we made a reservation. The inside could use some work with making it feel a little warmer. We were seated at a table with booth and chair seating, the booth was a bit uncomfortable. We started with the classic margarita and the sol dorado. We all agreed the drinks were great! The restaurant has small plates and larger items to share. We started with the chips and salsa, I'm more of a classic chips girl not big round chips you break off but the salsa was good. We got the mushroom sope to start which was really good and I'm not a huge fan of mushrooms. We got the shrimp aguachile (insanely good!), pedregal salad (yummy), stuffed sweet potato (I would come back just for this), grilled octopus (yum), grilled black chicken, and refried beans. Overall the food was good, but it's pretty expensive. Glad we got to try.

BETTER THAN ZOCALO! People balking at prices here should just go to a taqueria. Top favorites were duck taquitos and the beef stew but each and every item ordered was amazing.
