The meat from this company is no different from any other meat I've had at the awful luncheons I go to at mediocre hotels. Its some type of solution they put on it, in it, however one would put a solution on meat. They have door to door sales men that came to my office. I said what the hell. You have to buy a giant amount. The prices are decent for the amount but there is no way I have that kind of room in my freezer.I successfully haggled them down to a lesser size and a lesser price. A case of chicken breasts, two pork loins and a bag of pre cooked shrimp. The shrimp was the best out of the three. I just cook them on the stove top or microwave for a few minutes then throw them on a salad for a quick dinner or lunch. If I could only just get a bag of shrimp, I'd keep buying from them. As to the other meat products I wouldn't buy again. I expected better quality and was horribly disappointed. Bad hotel food is not something I participate in unless my company is paying.

I was caught off guard by the mobile meat salesman upon arriving home from work after a long day of work. He claimed the beef to be local, have no additives or chemicals, and overall great quality meat. He started showing me boxes of the meat and it looked good in the couple of minutes I glanced at it. He even replaced a steak that was really thin. I have had fantastic frozen meats that are delivered this way through celebrity foods, but I defrosted 2 rib eye steaks and a t bone and they didn't look as good as when frozen. I put them on the BBQ and cooked them as I normally would. I eat steak with just salt and pepper and my family was all spitting out the first bite immediately. It didn't cut normally, the texture was the strangest I even tried, and the coloring was really off. There was even some neon yellow fat. I don't think I would even give it to a dog. I have tried to get my money back but I do not get any responses, at all. I am not sure what these people are trying to sell but it is not quality meat. I think you would have a riot if served at a jail. Don't even try this meat but if you are reading this, you have probably already purchased it.

I usually check yelp reviews before purchasing items or trying new restaurants. This time I didn't. I purchased meat from this company. A guy was driving near my house, he stopped us and told us about the meat selection. I was a bit leery but I listened to his sales pitch. My husband and I decided to buy the meat. We got it at what I thought was a really good deal. I then, right away looked on yelp and saw all of the bad reviews. I was mortified. So we decided to cook a good portion of the meat right away. The steaks, filet mignon and the hamburgers. We were quite happy with our selections. The food was great. I don't necessarily think it's a high-grade of meat. It's average meat. But I feel like it was a good deal for the amount of meat we purchased and the meat tasted good right off the grill. I would definitely buy from this company again especially with the great deal I got.I will update this review to report on the quality of the other items we purchased: lobster tails, coconut shrimp, deviled shrimp.

I have bought their meat several times before and I can tell you that the food is restaurant quality; no more, no less...Yes, it is true that there is better quality meat out there, but you get what you pay for... If people are willing to pay top dollar, then that is what they are going to do... As for me, I will not pay $15.00 a pound for beef... The meat from this company USDA choice and from my experience so far, the quality of the meat is consistent... For what it is, it is a good value... I would buy from them again... MP

Love the sales men and the meats. I only purchase my meats from California Prime. If there is ever an issue the owner fixes it no questions asked and in all reality sometimes what you buy isnt 100% but in my book if you fix it then problem solved. Large cases I do have to try and make room for but it last awhile and i love how its packaged individually. You guys never let me down. Thanks so much...oh btw. Meat uncooked should not be bright red like the stores. Store meat has a red dye added in it and this doesn't. Also season your meat people!!! Might not taste so bad otherwise because mine came out bomb and no tummy ache after. My sister is a chef as she said the same thing.

We have been purchasing from California Prime Meats for quite a few years. We are well pleased with the quality of the beef, a lot better quality than anything we would ever get from walmart.

Avoid the door to door salesman at all cost. I got stuck yesterday, but I only got stuck with two boxes The boxes have minimal information on them, there is nothing to state quality or when the items were packaged. The salesman came in a pick up with a cooler in the back. I received no pamphlet or receipt for the items I purchased, and it took me a while to even figure out the company I was working with. He tried to get several hundred dollars out of me, but it ended up costing me $40, which I would never spend on the amount of meat I got at a regular store.I purchased their honey dijon mustard chicken, which when cooked had a disgusting yellow jelly all over it. The flavor was bizarre, the marinate was overly sweet, and the chicken tasted like fish. My dog ate more than half of my chicken, but my 4 year old loved it. I also bought the "sirloin" burgers, which I am now afraid to even touch. Oh well, a lesson learned. So when they come knocking on your door, just shut the door.

California Prime Meat has no flavor, the texture is disgusting.Get your meat at Costco and cut the steaks yourselves, if you cook it right Costco meat tastes like what you get at an above average steakhouse.
