Classic dark dive bar with a neon sign, jukebox, two pool tables, cheap drinks, and a stage. They claim to be serving since 1929, though Prohibition ended in 1933, but, in any event, that means the 100th anniversary is coming up, so you know what that means! Time for its centennial bath!I stuck with the $3.75 bottles of Coors Light, but, based on some reviews corroborating what I saw today, I recommend you specify if you want well or not. You might not want a "Jack and Coke", but maybe a Signature Select and cola.

California Club could be the granddaddy of dive bars. It is that old, worn, and outdated. It's like the bar that time forgot! If you're a dive bar lover, you need to check it out. The walls are decorated with old posters, yellowing black and white photos, an aging rotary dial telephone, and of course dusty beer signs. The bar top faux wood, chipped in places, and well worn. Even the pool tables look old! If it didn't have flat screen TVs and modern beer it would be like a trip to the 1970s. Without the disco music though. The bartenders are great and friendly with customers. The crowd is super chill and routinely brings their dogs inside. I hope this place never changes.

The beautiful sign brought me here :) I saw the California Club sign on Instagram years ago before I knew it was in Auburn CA and also before I knew Auburn was so close to Sacramento! I visited my cousin in Sac a few weekends ago and she joined me on this travel wishlist adventure to the California Club. This was also my first visit to an actual bar -sitting inside on barstools at the bar-in over a year . What a cool old school place ! It is what it is -a bar, a full bar-you can get any liquor imaginable-a friendly bartender and friendly locals to talk to . They also have a pool table and you can buy chips , peanuts, gum, and candy from the bar as well. My cousin and I really enjoyed our time here. I recommend this place if you need a break from sight seeing and a good stiff drink. Cheers!

Do you like dive bars? Do you like Auburn? Do you like regulars that wear Crocodile Dundee hats that will try to hustle you at pool? Then have I got the place for you. If you are staying overnight in Auburn, you may as well come here as there isn't a ton of nightlife in this town. It certainly has dive bar charm and they serve alcohol. What more could you want?

The waitress assumes she can take advantage of you and over charge you when you can perfectly count how many drinks you have had.

Visited this bar after a wonderful meal at Carpe Vino. Fun vibe and great prices. Unfortunately they ran my bar tab up and then became hostile when I asked the bartender to justify how I ordered 15 drinks in 45 minutes. They accused me of being wasted and told me to just pay my bill and leave. I had two cocktails, the first paid for by my friend and a second later, which is the one I used my credit card for. Blatant abuse.UPDATE: After speaking with my friends, I figured out this bars scam. There were five of us in our group as well as four others from a group we met at Carpe Vino. Everyone ordered drinks and paid for them as they ordered them. As stated I then gave them my credit card at the end of the night after I ordered my second drink of the night. When I closed out 45 minutes later, they had put all the drinks (that had already been paid for) on my card and claimed that I gave it to them when we first arrived and that I said to put everyone's drinks on my tab. Probably works on people who get too drug drunk to catch the scam.

This could be a great dive bar, if the locals didn't take over the pool tables. Even though they weren't playing, they still claimed both pool tables. The drinks seemed a little pricey at $27 for two Jameson and ginger beers and a shot of jagermeister. I would suggest the owner make a few changes.

So i was bar hopping most of the day going from bar to bar buying drinks and i decide to walk into cali club to play music on the touchtunes jukebox and get a malibu rum and coke and when i go to close out, my card declines because my bank declined it for fraud and she belittled me and acted like i was some criminal and didnt care at all even after showing her on my phone that i had 2 grand in my account. Luckily there was a awesome guy that was way nicer then the bartender that helped pay for my drinks. When i fixed my bank finally and told her she didnt care and acted all snooty. This behavior is not professional and certainly not in her job description. Its unacceptable behavior. If your going to act like that dont work with people. Dont go here or atleast dont go here when theres a grey haired older female bartender working there that shift.

Horrible experience. Female bartender on saint pattys overcharged us. We explained this to her & she got super defensive. Then to top it off she told everyone about the situation and made us feel very uncomfortable. We felt really bad and felt like outsiders and had to leave.
