The boo and I had the great opportunity to volunteer at the California Brewers' Festival hosted by Weave, which is a non-profit organization to support victims of domestic violence and sexual assault. Hundreds if not a thousand people came out to support local and domestic brew companies and food trucks with 100% of profits going towards Weave. Everything was well organized and the areas were kept clean. Some of the beer tents ran out of their most popular options so if people were an hour or two late, they most likely missed out on some beer. We were given volunteer shirts, snacks and water throughout the check in phase of the event. The staff was friendly and able to answer all of the volunteer's questions. We had a great time nonetheless and enjoyed the atmosphere and energy of everyone who attended. Would I recommend going to this brew festival next year? Answer: hellls yes #FinallyELITE

As Benjamin Franklin said - "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy."What can I say? 50+ of the best brewers in NorCal. You can drink one excellent brew after another for a whole day and never have the same beer twice. Beer heaven. Go there - drink beer - be happy. God loves you.

The torrential downpour in 2013 was a lot of fun. Waterproof work boots for the win. I didn't mind the rain at all. I wish it was raining this year to be honest. The lack of dark beer in 2013 was very disappointing. Not this year! Besides multiple stouts I even found a few imperial stouts (my favorite kind of beer) Cider isn't my favorite but there were a lot of good one's. Very impressed with the beer selection this year.More food trucks this year, and really good ones. I tried a lot of stuff from different trucks and it was all excellent. Way more port a potties this year. No lines to be found. They had actual bathrooms open for the ladies (and me, screw your bathroom rules) The music was good, lots of random covers. Will definitely be back next year.

2013's festival, only through the fault of God, was the year of mud and rain. Despite all their planning to make this festival a successful fundraiser for WEAVE by taking on the epic responsibility of coordinating 120 beer companies for token-less beer tasting, they were cursed with the one rainy day in five months. And when it rains, it pours. Having been before I knew what to expect. It's a ton of beer booths mixed with a couple food trucks, scattered across the grounds of Discovery Park in a sort of organized chaos. This year, the constant rain created massive mud puddles that were up to a foot deep in the high traffic areas. I was happy to see so many make it out and brave the weather by trudging from one booth to another with their complimentary tasting cup held high in case they spill. The only real downside I saw was the bathrooms. The lines were either way too long or they were too far across the grounds to trudge to, so waves of guys (including myself) were pissing along the back fence. More portable bathrooms near the action would solve this problem.

If you've never been to another beer festival, you might think this one is good. But I have been to other beer fests, and I wasn't impressed. The idea of 50 or however many breweries at a festival can be really exciting, but when I pay $35 and realize all these awesome breweries are giving out the same beer I can go buy at the grocery store, that's not worth admission. I expect to sample beers that I won't find locally, or this time of year. I don't go to a beer fest to drink beer I've already tried, I go because I want to try something new or unique. Some vendors are nice, some aren't friendly at all. Not sure what the excuse is, there's obviously beer here. The "flow," if you want to call it that, is beer trucks in the middle, beer tents all around. The food truck selection was good but pricey.CBF-I expected more from you.

Bought VIP tickets online with disclaimer of a larger mug keepsake, what we got was a plastic wine tumbler which didn't have any logo from the fest on it just the winery , I traded for the general admission cup which was plastic also. Just like the GABF plastic is a horrible keepsake, sorry and bad for the environment. No stouts here today but some great IPA, sours, and a few porters, lots of food trucks, good bands playing, some good beer, some horrible, and friendly people....a good festival but not knock it out of the park festival

I had a great time. So many different types of beer to choose from. The music was great. They also had all my favorite food trucks. My one complaint was they advertised Lost Coast but they were not there. The weather was hot which made the cold beer that much better. I enjoyed myself.
