We met Chef Jeff after an event at the arena today and are so glad we wandered by his store! He was very cheerful and patient - it was hard to choose from all the delicious flavors he had to offer!After much deliberation, we agreed on the s'mores cheesecake (as state fair winner!), and it was fabulous!We will definitely be back!

Hmm for $17 I was a bit disappointed seeing a dome of whipped cream in the deep center of the cheesecake (cutting corners on ingredients?). The cheesecake part itself tasted unbalanced; different levels of tanginess and sweetness in each bite. If you get a frozen one (the staff member would warn you about it) once defrosted the texture has some slight curdle and is super mousse-y (whipped to oblivion and easily falls apart when trying to cut it). Definitely not the dense kind of cheesecake.I tried the ube one and the flavoring is straight ube extract. Not really inventive, but it's there.The only thing I liked was the crust. Sturdy and tasted just like a cinnamon sugar cookie. Tasty!Eh, maybe I just visited at a bad time, but I'd say it's worth checking out only if you have a real hankering for some cheesecake after feasting at one of the DOCO restaurants.

If you're in Sacramento and have a sweet tooth, do yourself a favor and check out Cakes by Jeff. I tried the cherry cheesecake, and WOW it was really good!The cheesecake itself was silky smooth with just the right amount of tang. It struck that perfect balance between creamy and rich without being overly heavy. The cherry topping? Absolutely delicious. Sweet and slightly tart. It complemented the cheesecake perfectly and didn't feel like an afterthought.Presentation was also on point. It looked just as good as it tasted and the portion was generous.It's clear Jeff knows his way around a kitchen. I'll definitely be back to try more of his creations when I'm in Sacramento again. If you're a cheesecake fan (or just love great desserts), don't sleep on this place!

Jeff the Chef is really that guy!!! I finally made my way over to the shop and got the best cheesecake I've tasted in a long time. I ordered the banana puddin cheesecake to share with my husband to go. It was sooo delicious!!! The banana puddin was so light and flavorful! I also love the texture and taste of the whipped cream!! The cheesecake crust was buttery and sweet just how I like it. I almost devoured the whole thing but I stopped myself because I'm practicing the will power of self control. I'll definitely be back to try other flavors!

My husband and I stopped by for dessert after lunch at Yard House. The location was easy to find, and we were warmly greeted upon entering. We ordered two cheesecakes--one for us to share and another for our teens. While there was a table and chairs available, we decided to take them home to enjoy. We chose the strawberry and animal cookie flavors, and they were absolutely delicious--we instantly wished we had gotten individual portions for everyone! The servings were generous, easily enough for more than one serving. The restaurant was clean, and checkout was quick and hassle-free. We'll definitely be returning in the future!

I was introduced to Cakes by Jeff the Chef at Yelp's Downtown Sacramento Ice Rink event, and I couldn't wait to stop by their DOCO storefront! From Instagram, it looks like their brick and mortar opened in 2023, and they're located upstairs next to the movie theater. Service was pleasant, and the woman walked us through all the flavors in the case. My partner and I agreed on pumpkin spice, but next time, I'd be interested in the chocolate or cherry pie. Everything looked delicious and was beautifully presented.We took our 4 inch round ($17) home, and it was a wonderful treat to share! We loved the cheesecake base itself. The consistency is so creamy and spot on! The pumpkin filling had a somewhat icy texture, but overall, we were both satisfied. I'm looking forward to coming back and trying more!

I ordered the ube licious cheesecake and it was delicious! I love his cheesecake base. It's extremely flavorful, without being overly sweet. The cheesecake I ordered was $17 which seemed pricey to me at first, but the quality and flavor of the cheesecake make up for it. I was also able to try the Oreo, blueberry lemon and the strawberry cheesecake. All were delicious! I'd say my favorites were the Oreo and the ube. I'd love to come back to try the banana though! I also got to meet Jeff. He is a kind and humble guy. He offered great customer service. His shop was clean and colorful.

I got the Pineapple Splash, Dutch Apple Pie and Banana Pudding cheesecakes for my husband's bday. Everything was delicious as expected. The pineapple was heavenly. The picture is horribly unflattering.
