This is my go-to spot to find gifts for the chocolate lovers in my life and to find unique chocolates to treat myself.Street parking is easy either in 9th or around Franklin D. Roosevelt Park. It's all paid parking, but it's also easily walkable from free street parking in the area. The cafe is on the smaller side, but it's a great spot for a meeting, drink or food and an amazing spot for vegans and vegetarians, and even gluten free options. The owner Ariel, and his team are very knowledgable and can talk to you about the different items available in the store. I always ask about their most recent favorites because they're always getting new chocolate bars in.The pricing ranges and some of the chocolate bars are much more of a treat than a casual purchase. You're paying for quality though and some of the $10-$15 chocolate bars I've purchased have been AMAZING. The cafe items are very reasonable though if you're looking for a snack or refreshing drink. The cafe is welcoming and cozy and it's easy to hang around and browse their selection. I'll often stop in to pick up a Choquiero's Mayan Rose, one of the house chocolate bars), while I'm running errands and it's always a nice treat. Some of my other favorite bars are the Amano Japanese Sea Salt & Cocoa Nibs, and the Ritual Chocolate, Honeycomb Toffee.

Came here on a whim. The zucchini empanada was delicious and the cacao drink (can't remember the name) was just what I needed. Service was friendly and quick. The ambiance was really nice and enjoyed the fresh flowers on the table.

In a nutshell; neat cafe with numerous products/treats for sale. Parking can be tricky but if you're ever strolling by the area , this cafe can be neat to try. There's a number of indoor and a few tables out for dining. Not the biggest menu but what they certainly offer can be unique and the empanadas are quite delicious. There seemed to just be one employee at the time and she was able to provide service really well and the order didn't take long at all. Overall ok place to check out and try out.

This is the type of experience that you keep in your back pocket. If you work a 9 to 5, make this a stop, when you take the afternoon off. It's tucked away in plain sight. The minute you step inside, the options for chocolate enjoyment call you over and over! It's like an amusement park for your nose, eyes and tastebuds! I fully expected that one of the shelves was a secret door and I l would be invited to a vip room to sit and sip the exotic flavors! I loved the variety of international chocolate. I am intrigued by the pure cacao options and I can't wait to go back! Do me a favor, beat me to it and tell me how it went!

Great quite spot for coffee and chocolate. Relaxing vibe. Great place to study and just zone out. The Banana bread is amazing! The server was patience and even took the time to pronounce a few of the menu items. If you're lucky you can catch a free baseball game across the street. Try the Xoxolatl and an expresso shot. Thank me later!!!

Great place for an afternoon pick me up with an good offering of exotic teas, coffee and Xocolatl Drink Special beverages. Just my suggestion you can get a latte anywhere be adventurous and order one of their Drink Specials. I am a big floral lover so the the staff suggested Saffron Rose. It's served hot prepared with Guatemalan cacao, cashew milk, coconut milk powder, local honey, turmeric, saffron, rose black pepper & vanilla. Can you say YUM. 16OZ is $9 and so worth it. If like me you live chocolate they have a sizeable selection with offerings of cacao from all over the world. Great date spot, or just a place to relax and enjoy a book.

Located across from Franklin D. Roosevelt Park. The menu is filled with vegan health friendly food options and drink elixirs. I tried the mushroom and spinach empanada and it was very filling! This communal cafe also has a huge selection of chocolate bars and teas with varying ingredients and gorgeous packaging. Great options for gifts.

Café Xocolatl is an incredibly cozy and cute coffee and chocolate shop located in downtown Sacramento. It's a small, hole-in-the-wall shop, but inside is filled with large character. The walls are lined with exquisite chocolates and coffees from various destinations. The menu is heavily vegan with espresso drinks and small bites including avocado toast, waffles, empanadas, bagels, and more. We ordered a small Cho-Mocha ($7.50), which is made with Guatemalan cacao, espresso, and cashew milk. The drinks came out in a mug with a decorative skull, which definitely adds to the character of dining in. The drink was not very sweet, which is a reflection of the cacao, but still very good! It was my first time trying cashew milk and it was not bad. (If you like your mochas "Starbucks" sweet, this drink might not be for you.)Dining in was fun because we were able to experience the warm, cozy atmosphere on a rainy winter day. The owner was nice and friendly. I would recommend Cafe Xocolatl for its vegan espresso drinks and eats, cozy vibe, and fun atmosphere.

Don't come here if you want your beverage or food served fast. They take some time when understaffed, but it's an adorable little cafe with lots of chocolate and charm. Parking can be an issue because it's mostly meters unless you park a few blocks away.

Came here for a quick breakfast and was greeted by a friendly staff member. She appeared to be training a new employee but it was okay, because we did not know what to order. Ended up ordering a bagel and their tamales. For the price point, I don't feel as if they worth the pricy and the tamales were not that tasty in my opinion.
