A Curtis Park institution, Cafe Dantorels has been serving a "wide-ranging menu of American-style cuisine" since they first opened in July of 2012. Their welcoming atmosphere, friendly staff, and incredible food are what they are known for. I love meeting my family here for brunch! As you enter, you self order at the front register and are given a number, you seat yourself and they deliver your food fresh to your table. This occasion I ordered the banana bread French toast. With mascarpone cheese, banana, chopped bacon and topped with strawberry sauce and roasted honey almonds. I also ordered 2 sides of bacon and a small freshly squeezed OJ. This combo was perfect and large portions, I ended up taking half home. The freshness of produce and the quality ingredients keep the crowds coming back again and again. I love this neighborhood restaurant and you should too.

I've been coming here for years and it just keeps getting worse!Let's start with the beer selection. It's dreadful! Every single beer on tap has one or more characteristics that completely overwhelm the flavor of beer. The chef has chosen to use experimental brewers who think making something that's just plain weird is a good thing. The idea of a traditional lager or pilsner is completely lost on them.Let's move on to the food. I enjoy a simple breakfast. Steak and eggs for example. The steak comes out with a whole lot of gristle and they just don't understand what "eggs over easy" means. I guess the taters are ok, but it's hard to enjoy something when 2/3 of the meal sucks. Moving on to their Signature Steak Sandwich...more gristle and pretty light on flavor! Obviously a low-grade cut of meat. The only good thing about this place is the outdoor seating, but the menu is such a huge detractor, I have absolutely no reason to go there unless it's to watch one of my friends choke down a crappy meal (while they complain about it). Do yourself a favor and go somewhere else.

I've ordered this menu after 4 pm, the steak is well season and medium rare. I can tell you about this one. Honestly, I don't love it but still judging of what they are trying to make it better. The veggies are not overcooked nor undercooked. It was flavorful and still missing the taste. Last, I don't understand what are the two little cups for but still rid of the raisin and cheese. Weird combination. The service is lacking that not I expected as a cafe servers. Something that I didn't like about but I assume it has a background of what should the waiter or server be doing at the cafe. The environment was nice and clean. The lightings near by the patio need to light on or bright it up. Overall, I would rated the stars on this place 3.4, so I wouldn't come back and it is a little unreasonable price.

Tuesday, 11:30am lunch for two. A few people in line, and then ordered vegetable scrambles for lunch. Our orders were presented within about 15 minutes. They looked and tasted fresh and seasoned just right. Staff were attentive and responsive to our requests during the meal.

Absolutely one of the best spots for breakfast in the Sacramento area. The ambiance is super casual with self-seating and order at the counter however they do bring your food to your table. There are outdoor seats in the front that are pet friendly and an outdoor patio with a table top fire pit for group seating. With the ordering happening at the counter this makes it great for groups and avoiding a split bill. They offer fresh made pastries that are delivered daily that are so delicious!

Hidden Gem in Downtown Sac!This cozy cafe is one of my fav hidden spots in downtown Sac! I've tried their savory crepes, soup, and salads--all delicious--but last night, I went for the Nutella crepe with strawberries, and it was amazing. The crepe had a perfect crispiness (I'm big on texture), and our sweet waitress even brought extra Nutella on the side, which was such a nice touch. The inside has a festive Christmas vibe with a lovely tree, but my cousin and I opted for the outdoor seating. The fountain and fire pit tables made it such a vibe, and we stayed nice and warm, even with my cousin's anemia.Great food, friendly staff, and an inviting ambiance--I definitely recommend checking this place out!

We wanted to try a new place and found this cute restaurant that also offers outdoor seating. We had their brunch and would not recommend the banana bread French toast because it's a slice of banana bread which is very heavy and very sweet and tart! I saw banana and french toast and I was wrong. The potatoes were my favorite for the Benedict. I think it's overpriced. You line up to order, pay, take a number and they bring out your food. Would like to come back to check out their lunch menu if we happen to be in the area.

Food: 5/5Drinks: 3/5Service: 5/5Ambiance: 5/5Seating: 5/5Parking: 2/5I came on a Monday around 5:30pm in October. It was not busy with only a few other patrons. There is a very small, private parking lot in the back that could fit 6-7 cars at most. Otherwise, you'll have to do street parking which most around is 90 minutes only from Mon-Sat, 8am-6pm. I found some street close street parking that was 2 hours from 8am-6pm. The first impression as you walk up is it's very pretty as it's decorated with lots of plants. There is so much shaded outdoor seating along the sidewalk and a large outdoor patio. The weather was still hot so there were water misters to keep it cool on the sidewalk seating. For the patio, there are ceiling fans. There is so much seating indoors from booths to cushioned chairs, all very comfortable. The music is moderately loud. It's cool and conditioned inside I even put on a jacket. The ambiance was nice and casual to bring friends, families, or dogs and hang out or even study for a long while. Note that none of the seating seemed to have outlets. As you enter, there's a menu at the door and when you're ready to order, you pay at the counter. Then, you grab a number and can sit anywhere in the restaurant. The service was very nice, conversational, and provided my food in a timely manner. There is a self-serve water station. Besides providing your drinks/food and picking up your dirty dishes at the end of the meal, no one really checks in as it seems more of a self-service style. The tables are kept clean. I sat by one of the many tables next to the windows and there were some flies on the windows but they didn't bother my food. I don't blame the establishment, it's hard to control for bugs when there's a lot of plants and there are multiple large doors constantly being opened. For drinks I ordered an iced Matcha Latte with soy milk. Per the sign at the counter it looks like partnered with Temple Coffee to make the drinks. Personally, it does not taste made with authentic matcha powder as it is very sweet but I still loved it.For food I ordered the Brie & Candied Bacon Burger (comes with regular fries) that was a perfect mix of sweet and savory. It was delicious and you can choose how cooked the patty you want. I also ordered the Curtis Park Fries which were not too spicy and deliciously saucy. I think the food was delicious and will definitely return to try other items such as the crepes. Overall, a great casual place to spend some comfortable time at. A bonus is they are open very late (until 10pm).

Amazing Spicy Avocado toast! The service was great and fast. The ambience for this visit was unfortunately outside on a cloudy and cold day. Overall a nice breakfast place.
