"Our family has grown up at Glen Oaks. The club is cozy, safe, and inviting. The swim team's reputation speaks for itself. I've enjoyed playing tennis there for several years now. We've spent many, many hours up there enjoying weekends, BBQs, birthday parties... and of course the weekly Kids' Night (when in season) where the young get to roam the prairie with their herd spending some structured and lots of unstructured play time. That's a family favorite!"
"Great club. We bring the kids here. Friends here. It is never too busy. Day care while you takes class workout or just enjoy the grass and no kids for a bit. Recent remodel has helped make it look newer and cleaner. The staff is always inviting. In my opinion it is Better than the big workout clubs."
"My boyfriend and I decided to take my daughter to this park to explore. This park features a basketball, tennis court, 2 small playgrounds and they have restrooms, a big plus! They are in the process of repairing a nice roof over there MANY picnic tables and there's also a trail close by we'll definitely be returning to check out! She had a blast playing, climbing on the spider like web to the top, etc and was sad when we had to leave!I would recommend this park and we'll definitely be returning to explore more of what it has to offer!"
"Great gym with a lot of stuff. Happy to see row machines!! Love the women's room. Fun classes!"
"I mainly come here to swim since they have six HEATED, 25 yard lanes available! They also offer two diving pools each with meter long diving boards, a wading pool for kids six and under, indoor and outdoor showers, plus, an outdoor spa. This is a private, members-only, clubhouse so you can always fill out an application to join (http://ptswimtennis.com/wp-content/uploads/2014/09/Membership-Application.pdf) and aside from swimming they also have tennis courts, youth swim leagues/camps, lifeguard lessons, and a ton of other activities! The neighborhood is also very SAFE so I never worry about leaving the club around closing time (9 PM). It's also open seven days a week from 8 AM - 9 PM!This clubhouse is on the smaller size but I enjoy coming here since it's close to my house and everyone is always so friendly! You can rent the entire place out for holiday parties, birthdays, work gatherings, etc. It's usually cheaper during the weekdays versus weekends. They have a nice sized dance floor and their kitchen is a big as well! In high school, my friends would host various dance and graduation parties here and they were always a lot of fun! Overall, this is a great place for families to come and spend some quality time together! It's also good for those looking to get their swim on!! I love the pools here and they always manage to keep everything pretty clean and chlorinated! :) If you don't belong to a gym and are looking for something fun to do this summer definitely look into joining Park Terrace---especially if you enjoy swimming and/or tennis!"
"Having gone to the Sacramento location more times than I can count for stringing, shoes, demo'ing and supplies, I was happy to see that Courtside's Gold River location is just as awesome. The staff was immensely helpful in finding my next pair of shoes and I especially appreciated their pulling models from Sacramento in less than 24H for me to try. I got a great price on my Asics Court FF 2s and couldn't be more pleased with them.Being closer to home, I'll be back soon enough for restringing."
"I come here biweekly for higher level doubles practice. The facility is superb with great indoor courts and clean bathrooms. The staff are super friendly."
"This is a perfect league if you have a busy schedule but still want to play Tennis competitively. I have played in this league for over 3 years, and I can honestly say that it fits perfect for my current lifestyle. I have a busy career along with a family but still find a way to continue to play tennis. I have met amazing players and have established great friendships along the way. I would highly recommend this league to anyone who loves tennis whether you're a beginner or just want to find new players to play or network. Well organized and a lot of fun. Don't wait just join now!"
"I have lived here in Sactown for a little more than a year and have been a member ever since. My friend Jeff lives here and he's a member. So far I only use the Pool. They have two pools - an outdoor on and an indoor one. They call it "Open Air" but the fact is, it's indoors. They have a bunch of limitations on availability for the Outdoor Pool. But I'm retired and every time I look to reserve a lane there is ALWAYS times available. They keep the temperature of the pool nice - even in the colder times. The place is well kept. The gym is nice. They have plenty of treadmills. bikes and elliptical machines, they have a full line of exercise equipment and weight machines and every time I'm there it's never crowded. They have tennis courts, pickle ball courts, basketball court, jacuzzi and a wading pool. It's a little pricy - but everything seems to be these days. They have a HUGE schedule of classes and events. They have classes from A to Z (Ab Blast to Zumba) and everything in between. They have special events like Parent's night Out. There's a childcare area so the Parents and work-out with crafts and fun things to do, a kids play area with a slide and stuff. They have a bunch of Barbecues to use so you can set up a party with your family on the beautifully kept lawns. They have a swim team, swimming lessons, even a book club. Just about anything you want to do. Everyone that works there is always friendly with a smile and a greeting. They are always looking to be as accommodating as possible. Oh - and they also have a Senior Discount for those of us that qualify."
"They have a play structure for older and younger kids. And they have a shaded area for BBQ or for sitting down. I did my daughter's 1st birthday party here. You don't have to pay to reserve this spot. It's first come first serve basis. They do have a tennis, basketball court, baseball and tennis court. Also, they have a spray ground which the kids love. Overall this park is clean and nice. They don't have pokemons here much. If you are a pokemon hunter, they do have a gym located here. :) And I would say no electrical outlets. Lovely park with trails for exercising too. Lots of people in the afternoon walking, jogging or kids playing in this park."

What a great place! My daughter joined the swim team when she was 5 years old, and had learned a few swimming basics the previous summer. But she would NOT go in the deep end! I kept asking the coaches, "Are you sure she's going to be able to swim enough to be on the team?" They kept reassuring me that she'd be keeping up with the others in no time.Three weeks after the swim practice started, I stood at the side of the pool in disbelief, as my little darling jumped in the deep end, swam freestyle with proper breathing technique, and made it to the other end of the pool!As I stood there cheering for her with tears streaming down my face, I realized that almost all activity on the pool deck had stopped as all the parents and kids stopped to cheer my daughter on in her huge accomplishment! We have the friendliest team! The best family-centered club! The most amazing coaches! We've participated in two seasons each of spring/summer and fall swim, and we can't wait to start season #3!

This is overall a great park. The play structure was recently updated and is awesome for the kids to play on. There is also tennis courts for playing, and a pavillion for parties. If you go down the hill there is a nice trail to explore. There can be some pretty interesting people over here though, so make sure to stick with someone if debating walking the trails alone.

We were a party of almost 50 and everything worked out so nicely. Starting from Meghan, who gave me the tour and facilitated our reservation. She's professional and her communication is clear. Park Terrace has made some updates by painting the room, painting the bar, and fixing some of the ceiling tiles and it made all the difference. We provided our floor plan and when we arrived, the facility, including the bathrooms, were clean and the tables were placed as requested. There were plenty of garbage cans provided. The power strip in place by the bar was dead but plugged our devices directly into the wall outlet and everything worked. As guests arrived, 3 guests immediately asked what we paid to rent the facility as they were interested in renting. It was impressive.

I've been playing in the Tennis League Network on and off for the past 10 years. I've played in LA, Orange County, and now Sacramento. It's a great way to explore your city and meet new people. I've met lifelong friends in this league. I love to compete and this league provides me with the ability to do so all year long. The league's scoring system is super easy to understand and it's a blast following the results of all the matches. I've improved my rating by a point and a half since starting the league, and I'm not slowing down. I'm so happy this league exists.- Chris Graham, Sacramento

"The name of this place says it all! This park is located in East Davis and is a great place for all ages! This place has basketball courts, a playground, a huge field to play on, BBQ pits, and a pool area with a few water slides to play on. This review goes specifically to the huge concrete slide since that is what my friends and I came for originally when we decided to go here. Come with either a small cardboard or a huge long one so you can slide down the steep concrete slide. With the small cardboard you can slide down by yourself or if you come with the huge long one you can slide down 2 at a time. I have done both, but I would say that sliding down by yourself is safer...first hand experience. Wear comfortable shoes that you don't mind getting messed up in because you will use them to slow down your speed if you are too scared to go fast. Be prepared to get a few scratches and a few bruises on your butt. Other than that, this slide is very exhilarating and fun!A few tips: -Bring your own cardboard. There are a few there but you should probably bring your own just in case. -Wear comfortable shoes-You might want to wear long pants or a long sleeve if you don't want to get scratches or bruises.-Don't be scared, you only live once."
"Update:Facility has been getting a face lift since it has changed ownership. Things are looking up for this Quaint racquet club. Things to note are the newly resurfaced tennis courts which make for a faster paced topspin. Supposedly the pools have been re-done.They also seem to have added more social events, which i noted they lacked on my previous posting. The faculty at this site are approachable and very helpful. (thanks Mara)One star short for parking, which can be hard to find. However, on the plus side the facility at its peak hours still does not seem to be to crowded."
"I joined JRSC this past December motivated mostly to play pickleball. They had a special rate going on for those who join by the end of the year and that motivated me to join.I visited the club for the first time as a non-member this past December to play pickleball indoors (it was raining and there are few places in the community to play inside). They use the gym to set up three nets. It's sometimes to difficult to see the ball since the yellow ball sort of blends in with the gym floor - and the lines on the floor take time to get adjusted to, but it's a decent experience if you're desperate to play and it's raining outside. There's a $15 charge for a guest pass.Outside courts are a different story altogether. There are 24 dedicated courts with great lights. I'm pretty sure you won't find another place in the greater Sacramento area that have more courts than this - not to mention the quality, the courts feel brand new. And the lights make you feel like it's daytime play. This ain't no rinky dink set-up.If you've played pickleball in the community, so many of the courts are in bad condition with cracking, hollow spots etc. Eastern Oaks in Citrus Heights just closed half their courts because of damage from the rain. Yeah, you can find plenty of courts in the area - but the good courts are few and far between - not to mention the waits and the fees to join the clubs in order to play on those courts. So the pickleball courts sold me but they also have a couple racquetball courts and a ton of tennis courts. There's a fitness center that other Yelpers say need updating but honestly it works for me. I'm not a gym rat but I do work out regularly and I find it more than adequate for me. Across the street, there's a North Side property with a larger, more expansive fitness center with the tennis courts. The club has a lot of activities centered around pickleball play - classes, clinics, socials and events that make playing pickleball even more fun. There's plenty of drop-in play going on, so you don't need partners. You just show up and cue up your paddle and you'll be rotated in. I've found everyone to be friendly and welcoming. Friends play for free on the last Friday of every month which is cool. And additionally members also get a few guest passes to use every month for random friends and family. For me, I'm here for the pickleball. Johnson Ranch is a great discovery. I've talked to several members who, like me, joined the club to play pickleball. So far, so good! I'm really glad I joined."
"Jed is a fantastic coach. He's patient, engaging, and supportive. His comments are spot on in terms of small details on my technique. I've been playing tennis for over a decade now and I'm still learning more every time I train with Jed. He's a natural with the kids running around the club as well which is always a good sign of a great coach."
"Maple Park is part of the City of Sacramento Parks & Recreation. It is located across the street from Maple Elementary School in South Sacramento. The park consists only of two lighted tennis courts. The nets on both tennis courts were down.If tennis is your sport , do not come here ! Very disappointing !"
"About $180 a month for two people, on top of a $59 sign-on fee. They have 20 courts for tennis or pickle ball, a dance class room, an indoor full-court basketball gym, multiple variety of workout rooms, a medium-sized pool, lockers with hair dryers and showers, and a few other type of rooms. We greatly enjoyed the Zumba dance class on Tuesday evening, I miss the social part of dance so much. Heidi ran the class in an excellent manner.Parking can get crowded during evenings whether it's weekday or the weekend. Sort of wish they were open between 10pm-5am hours , but it is what it is.It's on the pricier side compared to other gyms like Crunch and Planet Fitness, but they have a lot of amenities."
"Monty runs a great program! He has a wealth of experience and is an excellent tennis coach. I was impressed with how well he was able to evaluate my game and gave practical advice on how to improve."
"Great park for kids to run, climb, and play! The ground squirrels are everywhere... thankfully they seem to dig their holes at the edges of the playground rather than the middle the playground so you don't get sprained ankles from walking around. Lots of benches and trees for parents to relax. The rings and monkey bars seem rather high... and basically at adult height. But everything else was perfect for kiddos. There is a small sandpit at one side of the playground. They also have a toddler area."
"hi-ya!So we joined--temporarily...because we didn't need some of their services they offered until the summer and didn't feel like paying the monthly fees while we didn't plan to go...but they facility is really nice.We were shown around and got a great feel for the staff and the facilities that were available to members. The pool, tennis courts and common areas were really nice. Even though we didn't re-sign up yet (but will soon) I was able to go a few times on trial. The gym area is so dead. If you like lifting (not counting aerobic type classes)---but if you are looking to lift with NOBODY around then this place works, but I really like having people around and just a loud ambience....so I felt like the gym area was too dead. But the men's locker room facility was clean, had plenty of space and was easily accessible."
"Kevin the Assistant Director was super helpful in helping us with finding a location for the baby shower. Very friendly! Please see him for your next event. Lots of space and rooms to choose from."
"We are so happy we found Jason! He is great with communication and is an amazing tennis teacher. My daughter is young (7 years old) and has never played tennis before so I wasn't sure how the lesson would go, but Jason was amazing. He didn't skimp on teaching the technicals just bc she was young but he also tailored to the fact that she is a child. My daughter had a giant smile the entire lesson and she got a great workout. We are excited to continue with regular lessons with Jason for years to come and hope this will instill a love for tennis, discipline and competition as she grows up."
"So glad we stopped by for a quick visit on the way home. The park was clean and everything was in good condition minus the lazy swing as the latch on it was stuck and I couldn't unlatch it. Luckily my son who is still very little was able to still get out of the swing through the side or else we would've been stuck there! Hopefully, someone gets that swing latch fixed up. Also I love how the park has gates all around it so your children won't run out onto the street as it is quite a busy road. It is also great for disabled people as they do have a disabled parking spot and a sidewalk inside the playground area where it's gated."
"Had my first visit today at Rio Del Oro Sports Club! My GF is a member here and has been talkin' bout meeting up and I'm SO happy we finally did! For my first workout I attended Amber's: Strength and Balance class which was awesome! Amber's great at correcting form and pushing you to go hard - I love it! I felt so strong after the class and seeing my calories burned made it all worth it. I would highly recommend Amber's class, if you wanna workout and sweat!Overall the gym is great! There's a decent size cardio area. They offer a ton of classes from cycle, yoga, barre.. they have it all! The gym itself is a great size and it's clean. I feel that the members here actually like to workout and it shows, lol. Check this place out, chy'all! Strong is the new sexy!"
"Choo ! Choo ! All aboard ! Consumes Community Service District delivered when designing this park . As you can tell, "trains "is the theme of this park. The play areas are filled with trains, railroad crossings, signs, ready for your kids to enjoy! This park is not only for children, but for adults also! Built in 2011, this park is 3.83 acres in size and is located in the vicinity of Waterman / Park Village . Named after Merle B. Van Doren and Son "Robert". Both Merle and Robert were very active in the community of Elk Grove.Local residence can enjoy an abundance of different activities. Picnic area with picnic tables, BBQ's , shaded structure , two tennis courts, horseshoe pit, exercise area with machines, Bocce ball, plus two play areas for children both having slides, swings, and climbing structures. I was impressed on how clean and well maintained this park was ! I am sure you will agree !Time to go ! Choo ! Choo !"
"Very nice facility. A clean, large, open space. Went here for an event so not sure how busy it is during regular hours."
