"Been here a few times for Menudo, it's so Goodas they cut the tribe in small sizes which I appreciate as a menudo lover. The flavor is Fire as you don't need to add any salt to the broth. All you need is lime, mexican oregano, cilantro, & chopped onions. We also tried the big Nachos with your choice of meat....Pro tip: kill it while it's fresh, not a re heatable left over....IMHOWe will definitely come back to try their other offerings from the menu"
"Tried the rest of the meat sticks:Hot - spicy but not too spicy (for me), excellent flavor!Pepperoni - tastes like pepperoni... okGarlic - THE BEST! Tasted like fresh garlic, I loved itI think I am missing one, but can't remember... they are all good except the pizza one yikes! Otherwise, I don't think you can go wrong."
"I found this on a whim looking for a keto friendly choice on the East side. Without reading the reviews too thoroughly I showed up and walked into the small deli. After some staring, I asked how to order some food. Specifically how do I get some of that beautiful charcoal grilled meats. Much to my dismay you have to call a few hours ahead to get any food prepared, though you can instantly receive food to grill for yourself. After learning my lesson, the next weekend I called in an order of 2lbs of pork belly and 2lbs of chicken thighs. The order came with a flat bread and raw onions. Both were really delicious and the chicken thighs, in particular, were incredibly tender with a touch of smoke. I was hoping that the pork belly was actually more fatty, but it was pretty lean. The 4lbs of cooked food and accompaniments cost me about ~$27 bucks. A really delicious value."
"Wow! Grass-fed beef is far superior to the beef you can purchase in grocery stores. The flavor, texture and taste were amazing. Our family did a comparison (double-blind) and couldn't believe the differences in taste compared to the Raley's meat. It is more expensive but we know where our beef is from and what the cattle are eating. The peace of mind is definitely worth the extra price per pound. Looks like we will be purchasing our beef from Winterport Farm at the Rancho Cordova Farmer's Market from now on."
"Asian Food Center on Broadway is a famous Chinese grocery store in the Sacramento Chinese community. The store is not very big. But it carries almost everything for the Chinese kitchen. Meats, Chinese vegetables, spices, seasoning, soy, sauces, and Chinese BBQs are also available. You can get everything in one store. Very convenient! The customer service counter in the Asian Food Center is fast and accurate. They have a line in front of the cashier counter all the time during rush hours. But the line is moving very fast. The store is very crowded most of the time. Weekend mornings are the worst. Also, the aisles inside the store are pretty narrow. Sometimes a shopping carts traffic jams happen inside the store."
"I love this local poultry store. They're only open during limited weekend hours and it's cash only. But they offer fresh and frozen poultry including a couple of varieties of chicken and duck plus different types of eggs at very reasonable prices. I visit often to buy Moscovy duck."
"As soon as you step through those doors, there is a welcoming atmosphere that immediately puts a smile on your face. And if it doesn't, Julio, the resident jokester behind the register, will make sure to crack a few jokes!- the nugget ice is why I come here! Just give them a heads up, and they'll have those 20-pound bags of icy goodness waiting for you at the counter.- their house-made michelada mix is an absolute game-changer. Pair it with their mango chamoy, and thank me later.- they have all kinds of pre-gaming snacks and tri-tip sandwiches!Stop by this little gem of a market asap!"
"They got the MEATS! I had to stop by as I've been wanting to check them out for awhile! They have dry aged meat, beef and waygu steaks, marinated chicken, pork chops, thick cut bacon, spices and sauces and more! Since it was my first time here, I got a complimentary Aloha Sausage (pineapple and mildly spicy). Thank you and can't wait to try it!! I also got some gravy spice and also a pork chop. Can't wait to come back for a steak!"
"Got four different types of meat for Cinco de Mayo tacos night. They were almost completely out of the seasoned stuff so they seasoned the already cut stuff. Also I wanted shrimp and they removed the tails and seasoned that. Everyone was super helpful and proud of what they sell. Bought their homemade salsas and they were delicious!! Everyone love it!!! Going back today which is why I remembered to leave a review."
"They're sausages, peeps. The fiancé always wants to stop by Lockeford when we're passing by, but it never seems to happen due to the short business hours. This time, the family was passing through mid day and was able to pick up an assortment. My favorite of the bunch was the basil. At roughly $7.50/lb (each sausage is about 1/2 lb), the price is not bad! Also, FYI, the sausages are only available for you to purchase here and cook yourself. If you're looking to have one whipped up hot to enjoy on site, it's not gonna happen."
"Want delicious meats and cheeses, Mexican style? Come over to Carniceria Familia Lopez.I've patronized this meat market half a dozen times over the past year. Every time I grab the taco meat (chopped, unseasoned steak) it is delicious even though there's always a few pieces of gristle. All it needs is a small amount of salt before pan frying and it's fabulous! Super fresh. Priced nice at $4.99/lb.I've grabbed an onion, lime and cilantro here in a pinch, though the produce freshness is middle of the road. The canned, dried, household and non-perishable goods are a bit pricey, but you get convenience. Best to pay cash, you'll face a $0.75 fee if purchasing with plastic for less than $5 or $10.They have fresh Mexican sweetbreads, Mexican ice cream popsicles and fresh tortillas. Look for the tortillas that don't have the fancy label. They have a faster expiration date because they have less preservatives = better flavor & fresher. I loved the flour tortillas, haven't tried the corn tortillas."
"I stumbled into this store since I saw they have bread. Since it was only $4 per piece of bread I asked for a couple. Little did I know they are literally the size of an ironing board! Such a good deal. I ended up having way too much, but it's super fluffy and delicious. Came out warm too."

This place makes amazing food. They offer a great selection of meats and cuts. The marinated meats are all delicious. The kitchen is fantastic as well. I have had almost everything there. I love the cabeza and lengua. They also have a good selection of pantry items and fresh salsas. Please come try this small family owned place if you get a chance.

I make an annual trip to Archers to fill the freezer. If you're a fan of bacon this is the number one spot in the Bay. I would recommend the the peppered bacon. A pound of that is a meal within itself. I cannot live without it now. Archer's set the standard and no one comes close. Take a cooler with you and stock up on everything. I pickup about a 1/4 of a cow. It's all vacuum sealed and frozen. If you place it in coolers with ice you can make it back to SJ without any melting.

Found this great place on Yelp searching for prepared meat to grill. So happy to finally come in! Took home some marinated chicken and ground beef. Perfect for meal prep- so tasty, flavorful and fresh. Easy to grill, made some rice and veggies and we are ready for the week ahead!

Winterport Grass-fed Beef is a delicious way of life! Small farms seem to be more and more of a rarity these days, but the Ports recently made sure that theirs will be around for a while (http://www.conservation.ca.gov/index/news/2007%20News%20Releases/Pages/AmadorCountyFarmPreservedforAgricultureUseOnly.aspx).I've known Jeff and Katie for years, and have had their choice beef several times, including last summer while visiting the farm. I'm excited that their beef is becoming easier to get a hold of, and I'll be filling my freezer up soon with some delicious grass-fed goodness! Great beef grown by great people!

Employees yelling at each other in Cantonese. Trash talking. Line cutters. Indifferent or non existent customer service. Folks bumping into you with carts and/or themselves. Narrow aisles full of jam packed shelves. Live fish in tanks. Hanging whole fresh cooked ducks and chickens. Hanging slabs of cooked roasted pork and barbecue pork. Old school fresh meat counter. Questionable degrees of cleanliness. Madness all around. Ohhh this brought back childhood memories of shopping in SF Chinatown. But I am not in SF and it ain't a zillion years ago. All this action is in midtown Sacramento on Broadway happening at the Asian Food Center. It is a small grocer selling Asian groceries. Like it or leave it. I myself have varying degrees of like. They have some of the cheapest prices in Sacramento for the cooked deli chicken (soy sauce or salted, whole $14, half $9), duck (whole $21, half $11.60) and pork (roast or bbq) . On weekdays, they offer $7.99 hot lunches. It is white rice, cooked cabbage and choice of bbq pork or roast pork. Plain and simple eats. Other things to know is that they have a small parking lot. But park in it with caution. Large delivery trucks roll in and take no prisoners. Parking is mostly street with a mixed of angled and horizontal spaces.

Super lucky find for fresh , not frozen clean and local poultry . This is as close as you will get fresh from garden and already cleaned up chicken duck and Guinea fowl . Also 32 duck eggs for $6 can't beat. I was paying 3 times at sprouts and 99 ranch which have only frozen duck . Bring cash only .

The tri tip and Chicken sandwiches are great but I didn't realize what a cool market this place is with so many groceries and different types of ceviches, salsas, and salads. Everything is made fresh

If you are cooking a meal, you should check out Pop's. From seasonings and spices to oils to marinades - you almost forget you're there for the meat! It's here are so many options for all sorts of tastes. We tried the Aloha sausage and it was SO tasty - a bit spicy but the perfect amount of sweet. Our family is addicted to the guacamole seasoning, and we snagged an apple pie spice to add some extra flavor to yogurt at home. We will, of course, be back! Make sure to ask at the counter if you have any questions - they are very friendly and want you to get the best bang for your buck.

"Have had four Bledsoe hams for holiday meals and they rock. I have had other Bledsoe meats mostly purchased from the Sacramento Farmer's Market. All were delicious!!!!Would have given 5 stars, but you have to watch what you get when you order something...they may not back up what you bought."
"I have been eating & shopping here for years. Literally. It gives small market & deli vibes. It is a family owned & operated business. The service is outstanding, it's the type you can only get when you shop at a mom & pop. From the moment you walk in, you genuinely feel welcomed. There is a butcher counter with a great selection of halal meat, fresh produce, Mediterranean and Afghani/Pakistani/Iranian spices, packaged foods, frozen foods & bakery items. The restaurant selections are all tasty. Our favorites are the Hummus Bilahmah, Shawarma & Falafel. Get extra hot sauce & garlic sauce... they are the BEST. We are also big fans of their fish & chips & sandwiches. Don't feel like waiting? Call them ahead and place the order for pick up!"
"I drive half an hour to get my meat from A1 Meat and Grocery. Great quality, clean meat and goes above and beyond with service. Last time I asked for a specific chicken breast slices that was not ready in fridge so he offered to get me some fresh one made and packaged while I waited. Highly recommend them."
"Love this place. Fresh meat, great sandos, staff is friendly, and they have all kinds of good stuff you don't see everywhere. Highly recommend!"
"Nice people. Good food and meat choices. They have fresh mixed meat like carne asada and carne al pastor. Also ox tail! Call in advance for food so you don't have to wait."
"Upon the recommendation of a friend, I initially came to mad butcher meat company primarily looking for dog treats. While I was there, however, I discovered their abundant selection of meat products, and knew that this would be my new go-to meat source. I ended up purchasing some marinated tri-tip for a stirfry I was planning to make as well as some bacon for your classic Sunday morning breakfast. I picked up some beef bones with bone marrow for my dogs and took a look at their raw dog food selection. The staff were extremely kind and engaging. They took the time to explain their various products as well as their meat boxes. The prices were competitive with other butchers in the area, if not slightly better. I will definitely be a regular customer at the Mad Butcher Meat company."
"This will be my second whole hog I have had butchered, and I have had a full beef done there as well (I have a friend who raises them for me - no drugs..no chemical laced feed)..I have zero complaint..they call you up, take your order on what you want, cuts, smoked, etc...they hang the beef for you as well. Everything comes frozen, vacuum sealed, labled with the product and weight as well. Yes, you pay a little more..but the quality is worth it. If you kill it (deer, elk, game, etc) they will do the same as well."
"Great place to pick up lunch or dinner. You order and pay at the register. #5 and #19 are our good to's. Portions are good and always taste fresh. They also sell huge pieces of Afghan bread for $2.50 each, what a deal. You can browse the supermarket while waiting for your food. Bright and clean inside."
"Winner winner TACO dinner!!!This is my favorite guilty pleasure. Yes, Mercado Loco! Not only can I skip the market, but we can order lunch here, too!Mercado Loco has been located here for decades! They offer a market with canned food, fresh meat, fruit, vegetables, Mexican bread, cakes, snacks, drinks, and beer, with a kitchen to make kitchen specials. To walk around in here is a little tight, but they have so many amazing things inside this cozy shop. Attached is a tiny restaurant, but I haven't had the chance to see if it is still running. Yesterday, we ordered lunch of 3 carnitas and a torta loca. It was all ready in about 10 minutes. We also grabbed some doritos and a couple of drinks. We decided to sit on our car and indulge while it was hot... but not before the photo shoot. Today, the carnitas were soft, juicy, and very succulent. They had the perfect flavor. My future hubby's lunch has a full slice of steak, with onions and peppers that I got to taste. It was also delicious! We also got a couple chicharrones bc those things are always delicious! All together, 2 drinks, chips, 3 tacos, chicharrones and a torta came out to about $36ish and worth every penny!"
"Reeds gets another 5- star for their collection of many previous reviews. Not only did Sam respond quickly to my last concern, but he made the necessary adjustments and voila! My favorite meat market. We had another excellent prime rib , perfectly seasoned and full of flavor for our Covid-cautious Christmas dinner. Thank you all at Reeds. You continue to serve Sacramento the Gold Standard in service and quality of goods. Cheers!"
"Love their tacos. The fish is not fried but still really tasty. Their al pastor is delicious (but saucey) and I like their chorizo too. Friend always gets the burritos because they are HUGE. BD gets their pupusas which comes with a fantastic slaw. I to the market for the seasoning on their chicken and to pick up simple items I'll need if I'm making food at home. Service has always been friendly. Please bring back the tables so we can eat there. I know it's tight sometimes but I miss the salsa and eating inside if it's rainy outside."
"This place is a local gem located in the seafood city plaza. Their marinated meat selection is top tier and so flavorful when grilled. The workers are so friendly and efficient. I love local mom and pop places. For marinated meat, their prices are competitive. I rather buy Korean short ribs here that's marinated for 8.99 than go to the Asian market and buy it unmarinated for the same price!"
"I love having this market so close to my house. Fresh produce and a wide variety of groceries. The taqueria is great as well. We had a beef burrito and chicken quesadilla that were excellent."
"This place is awesome. I get there arachara meat marinated and its awesome on the bbq. The guy who works the meat counter is really cool and he makes some really good salsa fresh daily prices are good."
"RUN DON'T WALK!!! A this is a real authentic butcher meat market! This was even more impressive then Lockeford Sausage. Owner was very friendly and informative!! We will definitely be back"
"The meat from this company is no different from any other meat I've had at the awful luncheons I go to at mediocre hotels. Its some type of solution they put on it, in it, however one would put a solution on meat. They have door to door sales men that came to my office. I said what the hell. You have to buy a giant amount. The prices are decent for the amount but there is no way I have that kind of room in my freezer.I successfully haggled them down to a lesser size and a lesser price. A case of chicken breasts, two pork loins and a bag of pre cooked shrimp. The shrimp was the best out of the three. I just cook them on the stove top or microwave for a few minutes then throw them on a salad for a quick dinner or lunch. If I could only just get a bag of shrimp, I'd keep buying from them. As to the other meat products I wouldn't buy again. I expected better quality and was horribly disappointed. Bad hotel food is not something I participate in unless my company is paying."
"Just discovered this well stocked Pakistani/Indian/Fijian grocery store. They had everything from meat to clothing to organic spices. Looking forward to going back again."
"Get quality meats and excellent service at a good price. Simple is good in this case and if you have any questions, they will help guide you. They specialize in larger orders so if you're looking to buy for a big event, check out FQM. They do not have a display of the meats. If you are planning on buying smaller portions and want to do some window shopping, ya better go to Nugget, Belair or a smaller meat market. They have lots of meat in stock but if you have a really big order, call or stop in advance of the pick up."
"Went in to get goat meat at this place. They are small market but they have almost everything. The meat was fresh and not frozen. It was cleanly packaged. Staff was courteous as well.Extremely happy with them & hopefully they don't disappoint in the future."
"While their business name might have you thinking theyre only a meat shop, they actually offer so much more! I go here for the fish pakoras itself . Its always seasonsed well and pairs nicely with a salad . Even by itself as a snack is always great!I havent tried their marinated meats yet, but they offer korran , american, and even vegan/ vegetarian options! Craving some ice cream? They have that , too! They even serve royal falooda, which is like an indian sunday or halo halo . Craving fish pakoras, ice cream, or marinated meats to throw on the grill? This is your place !"
"Always such great customer service The jerky is FRESH!! And so delicious My kids and I practically fight over the jerky! Even though I get enough for us all usually we a pack (15 count) each. We always get the giant slab style in Teriyaki and Peppered. The peppered is not too peppery (if that makes sense) and the jerky is dried to perfection!Texture is everything when it comes to beef jerky! And this is moist enough to allow you to chew it and enjoy it but not overly dry where it would choke a horse. My favorite part is they're local!"
"East West Foods has a very good variety of products including a lot of imported foods from the middle East and far East. They even have produce, cooking essentials and prayer rugs. But this review is mostly about the man that helped me at the store. He helped me find what I was looking for and suggested a different type of samosa than the one I picked out. I made them yesterday and they were delicious! I really appreciated him helping me find things and showing me what was good. Thank you!"
"I came to this market a couple of times. Mainly, I wanted some snacks and drinks when I was in the area. The storefront of Mi Rancho pretty much let me know their focus on the Latin-American market. They have lots of yummy-looking food and drinks I can't seem to find in the regular supermarkets. I like Mexican and South American culture and their food. This store has it all. There is a Mexican restaurant attached to the Market. It looks good. But I have never tried it. I think I'll try them next time when I'm there. The store looks clean. The cashiers are friendly. The parking lot is enormous. But I do see a couple of homeless people in there!"
