"Have been going here for 12+ years as of the writing of this review. We originally found this place because when I got pregnant with my first child I was worried that I won't be able to satisfy my cravings of authentic South Indian food. Well, thank god for Mylapore! I think my first child is 80% onion uttapam, and 20% masala dosa :DFirst off, the food is always consistently great- authentic, fresh, and served with love. The restaurant has evolved many times over the years, sometimes pivoting to partial self serve mode, sometimes table service. But either way, the service is always spot on, the attention to detail is noteworthy. Rajeevan is our favorite server and host (who sometimes also doubles as chef!). Total family vibes. Staff will check on you even if you're not their assigned table. The establishment knows its strengths and builds upon them for a pitch perfect, economical, wholesome experience, everytime !"
"Been thinking about coming back since my last visit a few weeks ago. I found myself back in Elk Grove and back here. This time we tried the Pesto Salmon and the Pesto Goat Cheese Naan Bread. We also got the shrimp korma again because we loved it so much! The Pesto Goat Cheese Naan was so good! I love goat cheese and it went SO well with the pesto. The Salmon was cooked perfectly and had a really delicious fresh tasting pesto sauce. Our meal also came with Basmati rice which tastes great in all of the sauces. The herbs and spices come out in each dish and blend very well together! Another great meal!"

"Time to get happy as their lunch buffet is back!We have come here many times and were disappointed when they said they were not going to bring back the buffet after the pandemic restrictions were lifted but... NEW OWNERS! Yes, they took over a few months ago and brought back the lunch buffet. The new buffet is much like the previous owners, a little smaller but just as tasty. Many meat, vegetarian, and vegan dishes to chose from. I love their goat curry, I could eat just it with naan. If you have ever wanted to try Indian (middle-east) food, this is the way to go and it's 100% delicious with great service."
"There are plenty of parking spaces available. If you go during 11:30 - 2, they offer buffet style for ~$19.00 / person. I got the Chicken Masala with garlic naan bread and it was delicious! The chicken was very dry and tough to eat, but the sauce was very creamy and great with the garlic naan. Recommendation(s):- Chicken Masala (chicken was very dry)Service: 5/5Tip(s):- Plenty of parking spaces- ~$19 / person if you go during buffet time (11:30 AM - 2)"
"I have been patronizing Chaat Kafe for many years now. It is by far one of the best Indian restaurants in the Natomas Area. The food is always very fresh and authentic. The service is typically the same family staff. I love how they cater to all patronizing customers. Aman is one of their exceptional staff; he is patient, explains the menu very well to non-Indian customers. I saw him first hand service an elderly woman in her eights find the best meal choice and she was well served. He displays over and above customer service, exceeding the norm. That is why I gave my five star review. The ambiance is calm, and pleasant during the midday rush. The tv's are on playing Punjabi music. Always nice to stop in.One of my favorites"
"I was in Sacramento for a work trip so I decided to give this place a try and I'm so glad I did. I ordered tandoori chicken, it comes with a side of rice or naan bread so I opted for some naan. First off the chicken was seasoned perfectly and it tasted delicious. They give you a large portion: 3 thighs and 3 drumsticks. It was over a bed of cabbage and had red onions as garnish and a lemon wedge. I mean for $15.23 it was an amazing deal for the amount of food you get. They made it fresh and the naan was made fresh as well. You can definitely taste the difference. The service was great, the staff member who assisted me was nice and helpful. I waited about 20 minutes for them to make my take out order. The location is nice, clean, spacious and decor was nice. I didn't eat there but there were plenty of seating. Highly recommend this place if you are ever in Sacramento!"
"We came back after their grand opening back in 2009! And what we tried was just as amazing! I ordered "fish in tikka masala sauce" which was delicious! My hubby ordered chicken in curry which he liked!I can't wait to come back to try their beef brain and beef soup next time!"
"So delicious!!! I always call to make sure it's extra spicy! We love the chicken masala, fresh fragrant rice, and perfect samosas! We always order to go, have not came in to visit yet. Thanks guys!!! See you soon :)"
"A friend and I had lunch here on a Thursday afternoon. We arrived at 1 p.m. and we were the only dine-in guests during our entire visit. There was one take-out order picked up. We both ordered off the menu as neither of us likes buffets as we are not big eaters. All the menu items are a la carte. We both had expected that our entrees would come with rice. I decided to order the plain naan to go with my Chicken Tikka Boti and my friend had the rice. The naan was just OK. The rice came in a bowl, but at $2.50 the price seemed a bit high. My chicken did come with an undressed salad of lettuce, cucumber and red onion. The server (owner?) placed a plastic bottle on the table that contained a light green sauce. I used it as a dressing for the salad, it was tasty (probably a mixture of yogurt, cilantro and chili pepper) so I assume that was what it was meant for, though I guess it could have been for my chicken. My chicken was very flavorful and consisted or chunks or chicken breast that had been cooked on a skewer and the serving size was enough that I had some leftover to bring home. The restaurant itself is low-key and very casual. The parking lot serves several businesses but we were both able to find spaces."
"We have been waiting to come to Shalimar for years, based on a friend's recommendation. He visits the SF location with his father and has for 2 years, I think! That says a lot! Oh, and they are Pakistani...so if they say it's authentic and delish, I'm a believer! We missed our change to visit the SF restaurant but caught this location on our way home. The dining room needed some attention, like a broken booth covered in plastic and several dirty tables, but we were hungry and still interested in trying the food we've heard so much about for so long. The wait was relatively short, and our friend showed us the hidden treasures - a sauce fridge and hot chai-style tea that was complimentary with your meal. Perfect on a cool early fall day!We ordered chicken kofta, 3 seekh kebab murghs, bunha gosht, a chicken biryani and 2 orders of garlic naan. Chicken kofta are lovely tender meatballs in sauce, the kebabs are formed spiced chicken cooked on skewers, bunha gosht is a spiced goat stew...all of these were new to us! Chicken birynai is chicken cooked on the bone cooked in savory, lemony rice, and of course, no meal is complete without garlic naan! Each dish was flavorful and hearty, and plenty to share for our party of 3, plus some leftover to bring home. Overall, it was quite a value, especially after spending 4 days dining out in the Bay Area! Our whole bill for 4 entrees and naan was $73 with tip!!!Bottom line, this is good, no-frills, homestyle Indian/Pakistani cooking. A hearty stick to your ribs meal but the dining room could definitely use some more frequent bussing and table washing."
"Very delicious food but $15 for dahl, really? All the prices were in this range or higher. They posted a notice about having to increase their prices. That said, the place is very clean with white linen tablecloths on each table.I arrived on a Sunday night and was happy to see it was open. Although I was the only one seated in the restaurant itself, it appeared that they were also filling to-go orders, many of which were from customers of East Indian descent. I consider that to be a good indication of their authenticity. The waiter that night was some kid who behaved as if I were a casual acquaintance and not a customer which put me off. I ordered the goat curry because it's not often that I see it on a menu and I like to try different flavors. The dish was spicy and I enjoyed it very much. The goat meat was cut into cubes and some of it was quite fatty which could've lent more flavor to the sauce. Little bones of the goat meat were part of the dish which made it interesting. I also ordered the mango yogurt drink with a sweetness that reduced the spicy heat. I ordered the spinach paneer which was made with small cubes of cheese. The Dahl dish was a bit bland but the yogurt and chutney sides helped. All of the dishes except for the Garlic naan and yogurt/chutney sauces, were served in lovely copper-like bowls. Overall this was a delightful culinary experience that came to about $80. I think it was a special treat for me to enjoy authentic East Indian food."
"We had dropped one of our cars off for an oil change and wanted to get lunch while we waited. We checked on Yelp for places to eat and decided on The Original Chicago's Pizza for the win!As we entered the front door, we were quickly greeted. They gave us a few minutes to check out their menu. They have traditional pizza, Indian pizza, Indian entrees, chicken wings, pastas, salads, and dessert. We ordered two pizzas. One was the Indian Garlic Pizza. OMGoodness! This was different to us. It had garlic sauce, ginger, red onions, mushrooms, tomatoes, cilantro, and more. The other pizza was called Three Idiots! Three different flavors of chicken. A little sweet and spicy. Not hot. The Gulab Jamun was served warm. It was like a warm donut in a sweet coconut syrup.Overall, great food and service! Parking is a shared parking lot. The food was tasty. We will be back to try other dishes."

Excellent food as always. This restaurant promises flavor and quality, we can sense the fresh ingredients cooked fresh every morning. This is the USP of mylapur in a flurry of restaurants that give stale curries heated in a pan when customers arrive from their refrigerators. However, these guys cook fresh every morning and the stomach as well as the palate prove when eating their food how it is very delicious and very fresh and healthy. I love their mini tiffin and It has a bit of everything and is very delicious. The happy hour dosa is also very good for seven bucks

One of the best Indian cuisine in Elk Grove. I was first introduced to Indian cuisine when I visited my aunt in Seattle. I've been searching and trying out different Indian restaurants in Elk Grove. By far this is the best place I've been. Everything is really good, ambiance is nice. They have booths and a big table on the side to accommodate large parties. Got to try this if you're in the area. My favorites are the butter chicken, chicken masala, and the garlic nann.

Their AYCE lunch buffet is back! Hurray! We went to lunch at noon on Tuesday. The place was packed. I was surprised it was so busy. But after trying out the food, I knew why. Their lunch buffet offerings were plentiful. They had 4 main entrees: butter chicken, tandoori chicken, fried fish and goat. The butter chicken and fish were very tasty. They had 2 types of rice, 2 types of pakora, 4 vegetable items, 4 desserts, including mango soft serve. They also had a little salad bar and chai tea. When we returned to our table, there was fresh naan waiting for us. We tucked in and really savored our meal. I'm not able to eat really spicy food, and the food wasn't very spicy, but it had a nice heat to it. I definitely broke out in a sweat after finishing my meal and needed to cool it down with mango lassi.Along with the food, the staff were also very friendly. They brought out fresh naan as soon as they saw that your basket was empty. They bussed used plates as soon as you set it aside. While the food and service were excellent, parking sucks, especially during lunch. The restaurant is also older and has wet mold smell. Luckily, they kept the AC blasting so you couldn't really smell it. But I've been to dinner in the past when the AC wasn't blasting and the smell is very noticeable. All in all, I'll definitely be back for the buffet.

4.5 stars for food5 stars for ambience3 stars for service4.5 stars for valueI have recently been to my favorite sushi place and spent almost $90 and left not feeling full. I also went to a different Indian place, spent $60 and didn't end up full. I came here to Indian Oven & spent about $45 for 2 people for the lunch buffet and left feeling full, satisfied, and like the value was well earned. The tandoori chicken was cooked so well, pink and a little smoky flavored. Inside was softer, tender and with a hint of Indian spice. I usually enjoy this accompanied with the raw red onion and dip it in the maroon colored tamarind sauce, taking turns with the bright green sauce. All three complement the chicken so perfectly. I don't eat rice so I ate it with the mashed potatoes which was yellow and delicious. I also ate the mashed potatoes with the vegetables with the yellow looking sauce. Perfect marrying of flavors! They had an Indian restaurants usual MVP player, the butter chicken too. The sauce was really yummy & creamy. Usually it seems like Indian restaurants use the leftover shredded tandoori chicken for this dish, which gives the dish more flavor, but this restaurant didn't. It was white meat, cut in squares, dense & dry, so I didn't end up finishing it. I enjoyed the okra. I really wish they had the saag paneer, which is my other go-to. I was a little disappointed because that's at every singe Indian buffet I've been to, and it's one of my 2 favorite Indian dishes. The lamb curry was good, and is usually my favorite, but it could've been a lil more tender and I really wished they used the cut of the lamb that has the lovely yummy marrow goodness in it. I had the garbanzo beans, my usual high fiber favorite, but I can't recall how I felt about that dish. Dishes I seen but didn't try was curry chicken (Hubby loved it), a few pakoras, a few curries, they even had some food I think was from a different country. Like I think I seen chow mein and also French fries. They had a fruit and salad section that had several salad dressings. I aimed for cucumbers to balance my meal and to raise fiber intake to balance all the yummy meaty, creamy lovin. For newbie Indian food eaters, one thing that I haven't ever seen on an Indian menu is beef. I believe Indians deem cows sacred in Hinduism and are a symbol of life per Google, so that wasn't entirely surprising to not see. To end my meal I tried the soothing & warm masala chai which is a rich herbal milk tea. It is so delicious, one of the best I've ever had. I had to take some home in a plastic cup it was so good. And I'm thinking I wish I had it now as the weather cools down. For dessert they had the galub jamun which are balls of sweet carby goodness. I can't eat that due to my sugar levels, but man was it enticing! If they only had the rice pudding there I may have caved in & ate it. That combo is sooooo amazing!Service was a little absent, except for 1 water fill up. I had to get up and ask for stuff. One thing that stands out is how gorgeous this restaurant is from floor to ceiling. They don't spare any wall from decor. It's tasteful, creative, a decorators eye candy for sure. There are booths & longer tables for small groups, medium sized groups, lunch dates, work dates & larger parties. I highly recommend coming here for a lunch buffet to satisfy your Indian food craving for a reasonable price. It's about 25 minutes from where I live, so worth it and about $20 per person.

I would give this place 4 stars but they are SUPER stingy with their chutney. We order two entrees and only given 2 little tiny containers of chutney and we had to BEG for it. One time we ordered a chicken wrap and the wrap is huge but they wouldn't give us any chutney and was going to charge us for it. It's a bit ridiculous. I don't understand places that are so stingy like this. The food itself is good. We usually get the chicken wrap or the chicken plate. The potato salad and cucumber salad are both good! Not sure if I would return though because they stingy.

Placed a pickup order over the phone, said it would be ready in 20 minutes & it was ready right when I arrived! We ordered the Chicken tikka masala, butter chicken, a side of rice & garlic naan. The garlic naan was very good. The butter chicken had big chunks of chicken but wasnt super flavorful. Same with the chicken tikka masala, it wasnt bursting with flavor & the chicken was much smaller chunks. The rice had an interesting smell to it, ive had lots of indian food before & this rice smelt very herbal which threw me off. All in all everything was good but nothing blew me away.

"Was craving some Indian food and found this spot of maps. 10/10 hands down, no complaints about the food or service. The spice level was perfect, dumplings were amazing and employees were very nice. It's a pretty open space, we were the only ones here today and we didn't understand why because of how good the food was! Everyone must try and check this place out."
"Great food and fantastic service. It's so good to find an Indian restaurant in El Dorado Hills that serves truly authentic Indian cuisine with the spice level that's fiery and hot. I've been there 3 times in the last 2 months and I can't wait to visit again."
"The food is consistent and always very good. Our favorite is their butter chicken with garlic naan or paratha. I like their combos which are available from 10:30 am to 2:30 pm and come with a protein (butter chicken, chicken tikka masala, curry, veggie dishes, chicken kebab, or tandoori chicken leg) rice, naan, and a small side salad. Their prices are very affordable and they even deliver."
"Maharani has been around for some time and all I have to say is, do. not. sleep. on. this. place. I can't believe I've only been there twice now. Everything was soooooo good. There was not a single thing I didn't like. Tried the Onion Bhujia which reminded me of an onion bloom from steakhouse restaurants, the vegetarian and lamb samosas, lamb curry, fish rheshmi, chicken tikka masala, chicken biryani, and the garlic naan. Their garlic naan may be the best garlic naan I've ever had. It was so flavorful, and the texture of the naan was light and fluffy. I can't wait to go back for more naan and to try their other dishes."
"This restaurant was highly recommended to me by a friend. It did not disappoint. Everything was so flavorful and superb. The garlic naan is the best I've ever had! The Navartan Kurma was amazing! I can't wait to come back!"
"We don't go out for Indian food often, but we love butter chicken, and we just watched some videos about dosa, so of course it was the perfect time to try out Mr. Dosa! They are hidden amongst some other hidden gem restaurants behind Walgreens. Despite being pretty early for dinner time, there were a few other tables already dining when we arrived. They have a full kids menu which is great! We picked the chicken fried rice for our kids to share, and any meal that my son will eat meat is a win for us, and he loved it! The butter chicken here was so creamy and my favorite part was that the chicken itself was actually so tender. It is a pretty small dish though and it's more like a single portion rather than the family style I was expecting. We ordered it medium spice and it wasn't too overpowering. We tried out the side of parotta with it, rather than getting our usual naan, since we wanted to try something different. It was good but I think I'd stick to naan because it has more thickness to scoop up sauces, but the shredded and light texture of parotta is nice!We also chose the egg dosa which comes with chutney sauces and a lentil stew. My favorites were the tomato and coconut chutneys with the dosa. I wish the dosa itself was crispier though, and I'm not sure if it was because the egg was maybe weighing it down, or if the dosa just isn't normally as crispy here. They have so many options though so I am definitely willing to give it another shot! Our server was so sweet and she checked on us often. Great service and food came out pretty quickly. I would love to come back again and try more items because they have such an extensive menu!"
"Wonderful experience!! Tasteful and fun environment is very welcoming. The food was very delicious! Super service. Highly recommend."
"I have been going to Kaveri for a decade plus, so when it changed to Namaste Sacramandu I was skeptical. I have to admit it's just as good if not better. I would rate the food slightly higher quality that Kaveri had been which was pretty good.Go there you will not be disappointed"
"Green Grill in Rancho Cordova is one of the vegetarian restaurants I want to try for a long time. I am finally in the area, so I decided to try them out. They are matched with their excellent reviews of both food and service. The dining room is comfortable. I enjoyed my visit!"
"Super delicious food. They have an extensive menu but it is not clear when the regular menu items are available. Buffet had several vegetarian and meat options including fried fish."
"Went here last night with one of my friends. The food is really good. It's not fancy by any means. They had buffet style. Which we missed... the last time I was here. There wasn't a huge selection but it was still really good. The best part is... the food is not greasy at all. Some Indian restaurants are very heavy on oils that they cook with. Which can really mess with your stomach! The customer service is on point! It's definitely a smaller mom and pop style restaurant. Which is a good thing. The service is great! They are super friendly and happy to accommodate. We showed up... and they were already closing up. Yet, they let us stay and eat. We closed the place down. They didn't try to rush us at all. I will definitely be going back again."
"I decided to have dinner before meeting up with a friend for a late night movie. Most of the eateries were closed by 9pm. Luckily, Chaat Bistro was still open. I walked in and was greeted by a gentleman at the register. I look at the menu above the register and decided on getting the Tikka Masala with shrimp. Omg! My food arrives and it comes with a nice size serving of rice that is flavorful and delicious. The curry in the Tikka masala is so rich and flavorful not too spicy. The inside is pretty basic for dining there is plenty of searing as well as they have some outdoor seating as well. It's definitely worth checking them out the food is amazing."
"I recently dined at New Kathmandu Kitchen and had a phenomenal experience. We ordered paneer tika masala and chicken coconut curry. Both dishes were rich in flavors and had authentic spices used in their dishes. The chicken was also very tender that it melts in your mouth. The ambiance is warm and inviting, making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable, enhancing the overall dining experience. Overall, I highly recommend New Kathmandu Kitchen to anyone seeking authentic Nepali and Indian cuisine in Sacramento."
"I've been here before and I am going to return many many many times! The dessert counter, alone, is worth the 30-minute drive. They can be pretty busy so I highly recommend calling ahead and maybe placing an order before arriving. Especially if you tend to eat the same things. I highly recommend being adventurous and trying their special dessert treats that are amazing!!!"
"While Samosa Garden is famous for their sweets especially during Diwali, they also offer some great meals. I stop by here almost every other week just to pick up some samosas. Whether it's to hold me off until a late dinner or to grab a bunch to take fishing, they are just as delicious the next day as they are fresh. I have tried a few of their entrees such as their goat curry that's 100% delicious. I was totally amazed at the amount of take out they do. For over 30 years this mother and daughter team has established themselves as a great restaurant offering not just tasty food but super friendly, excellent customer service."
"First time at India oven and it was delicious! My new favorite Indian spot in the area. I started off with some vegetarian samosas which were just okay but the goat curry and butter chicken were absolutely delicious! I'm from the bay area and I've got pretty high standards for Indian cuisine and the goat curry really shocked me how tender the goat was. Butter chicken was so good with rice and with their naan. Highly recommend getting their bread basket so you can try the different types of naan. I couldn't decide between the garlic and onion ones as they were both delicious. Their naan was perfectly crispy, thin and flavorful."
"Best Indian food in this part of town! I am not lying. I have tried many, but this place tops it. Walking in, the waiters are very my inviting and the tables are very comfortable. They probably have the softest most cushioned seats at the table. Very clean area . I ordered the cheese naan. This came out so soft and buttery! The cheese was a bit overcooked inside, so I probably won't order it next time because of how thin it is. I think I could do without. However, SO DELICIOUS. I then ordered the tikka masala. When I tell you this was AMAZING, I mean it. It has a rich gravy and the cubed chicken was cooked and soft with every bite. They give you enough pieces of meat in this dish. The gravy was very creamy and a little bit on the sweeter side. This food always comes out super hot and fresh! I would order this a million times if I could. Portions are okay!"
"Older restaurant but that only adds to its charm. Large portions, friendly staff and a huge menu to choose from means we will be back again!"
"Came here for the first time with my best friend for lunch the staff were so friendly and nice. The food smelled amazing and tasted even better we will definitely be coming back because it taste so good & next time we want to try some of there homemade sweets they have as well. The restaurant may be small but it's so worth it and the restaurant was very clean and colorful. I highly recommend Checking out this hidden gem it's so good. We will definitely be coming back again for lunch again soon because the food is so good and the price you pay for it is so amazing as well. I got the lamb curry and my friend got the butter chicken and we shared the garlic naan bread. Everything was amazing."
"This is the gem we've been seeking since relocating to the area. I love the ambiance, it's incredibly clean, the service is delightful, and the food was my favorite Chinese food I've ever eaten. I honestly cannot say enough good things about this establishment. It was spicy, light, and incredibly fresh. This is our new go-to date spot. The chili-garlic noodles were phenomenal, and my husband LOVED the Szechuan chicken. I am already looking forward to going back. I would highly recommend giving this place a shot- they will not disappoint."
"Delicious authentic Indian cuisine We dined here tonight using a Groupon deal and enjoyed our first time dinner experience. Nice and classy interior with table seating and booths, we enjoyed both the food and the service. Although similar in taste I always get the Butter Chicken and hubby the Chicken Tikka Masala. In their menu the butter chicken was called the Chicken Maharaja. I don't usually do spicy and I forgot to tell our server not spicy but the mild spiciness was tolerable after awhile. I just had to blend a lot of Basmati rice with it and drink my soda after LoL! Surprisingly, I finished all! Everything was tasty and delicious! Our new favorite Indian cuisine restaurant. This is a family-owned restaurant and I believe Avtar is one of the three owners. Very friendly as we engaged in a short conversation about the restaurant. They also owned a restaurant in San Rafael (Bay Area) and just recently sold it in November. They have a lunch buffet from 11:00a to 2:30p for $14.95 and includes drinks... we can't wait to try. This Indian buffet also offers catering and has a 400-person banquet hall on the adjacent connecting building where guests can chow down on lamb samosas and kashmiri naan.I used my $40 Groupon with no issues. UYE?? Review #2919"
"pizza is so good! we love getting the garlic chicken pizza and this is our favorite pizza spot. appreciate that that pizza isn't greasy and is always fresh. our to go space and it's quick, like 15 min wait and friendly service. they have a wide variety of of pizza options, and non pizza ones too. would recommend to others and will continue to return!"
"What a wonderful Folsom find! Don't let its placement in a Safeway strip mall turn you off, this place is amazing. Super clean, sleek and modern interior. Many tables (we scored a booth without even asking for it ~ loved that). Very quick and friendly service. Extensive menu with delightfully diverse offerings. Since this was our first time going, we both opted for the Thali plate, which is seemingly offered daily with a sampling of small portions of many different things. Just delicious! Really satisfying meal and all vegetarian options. I will most definitely be back again, likely very soon. I want to try all the things!"
