"Quick and friendly service immediately upon entering. The lamb kabob plate was excellent! Very succulent and flavorful cubes of lamb along with rice, salad, hummus, tzatziki sauce and warm pita bread. I love that it came with grilled red onions and tomatoes. It's a great value for $17. I was thoroughly satisfied and will definitely return."
"standing ovation. A HUGE appreciation for the customer service of Jacob and Carlos. Through and through they treated every customer they interacted with the same; friendly, approachable, attentive. My first time in and I sat back and watched them assist a line of customers quickly. And note, they are consistent at changing their gloves for every meal they prepare. I was confident that my meal was not cross contaminated with meat. Order falafel on wheat pita. The portions were huge! The sauces were so good. Highly recommend."

"Joe K and I consider ourselves International food aficionados. We were planning and preparing for friends to visit his family who are Greek descendants, so we decided to try this restaurant out and sample the cuisine for a future order of larger portions. The facility is located front and center of the 99 Ranch Market. When we entered, it seemed that the owner was the only one working. But he handled our orders quickly and efficiently even while more customers started trickling in. He definitely had control and knew how to run the restaurant. Right off the bat, I noticed their sign recommending the Falafel Sandwich that states it is "organic, healthy, and vegan". It definitely sounded appetizing for a vegetarian like myself. Joe ordered a Lamb Shawarma in a pita bread. He also added a side of Dolma: vegetarian stuffed grape leaves that comes with a dipping sauce, and Baba Ghnouge. When I checked in on Yelp, we also got a free slice of Baklava! We took our food to go and couldn't wait to dig in! My Falafel Sandwich was everything I had hoped for - delicious and flavorful. It was quite large and I could barely finish it. Joe also enjoyed every bite of his Pita and the additional sides. We agreed that we would be coming back here again!"
"A filling, healthy, and affordable meal! Stopped in today during lunch break and got the Mashtee wrap (beef, chicken, fries, green, tomatoes, pickles, banana peppers, parsley, onions, special sauce) for $15.99 and I think it's well worth it! The wrap was large and hearty--I couldn't finish all of it, so now I have two meals! The acidity of the pickles and banana peppers added a good flavor balance to the two meats. The chicken was a bit dry but the beef was perfect. Nothing a little sauce won't fix!Service is cafeteria line style and very quick. Also, I think the man who's the owner? Super friendly and told us to ask for more sauce if we need it. Would def come back again"
"Simply amazing is how I would describe the food and service. It doesn't look like much decor wise- very simple in fact. Don't let appearance prevent you from having a great meal and attentive service. A friend brought me here after a day of wine tasting and Scottish music. The Garlic chicken with the Garlic mayo is phenomenal. A must try. Everything we tried was yummy and fresh. Do your taste buds a favor and try it out. I will see you there."
"This is my husband's go to spot whenever he goes into the office. He always raves about their gyro salad, so I had to try for myself. Upon ordering, service was super quick! If you're in a pickle of time and want something delicious and hearty--this place is the way to go. We ordered their salad! Initial thought of their salad was that it was huge! I really thought I wouldn't be able to finish it, but I did. It was that good. The blend of flavors really meshes well, and it doesn't leave you feeling to bleh at the end. A right amount of everything. The tzatziki sauce was a great touch to the vinaigrette dressing. A little on the pricier side, but still think it's worth it."
"SUPPORT LOCAL FAMILY OWNED BUSINESSES! Another craving that I can satisfy only when I come here. Been a loyal customer for five years. We order the spicy falafel wrap or veggie gyro. Fresh ingredients and made to order.I wish I can encompass the flavor in a review. Just know I'm already craving it for next week."
"When Mitzi says, "You better show up for brunch @ Jayna Gyro!", you dam well better show up or Mitzi will kick yer ass!SITREPSunday brunch is a "thang" with our amorphous group of Yelper-friends - whether Michael H., Mitzi A., Terry K., Annie C., #SacFoodFromAbove (aka Alex T., etc., and me (and whomever else may be available & willing) - and like a caravan we'll trek from Dim Sum places, to Pho places, to DIY Spring Roll places, to Seafood places, to American Diners, etc. etc. etc. This morning it was a MIDDLE EASTERN exploration!THE SETUPJayna Gyro (aka "Jayna") hosts a fantastic plethora of Middle Eastern cuisines, including Greek, Turkish, Israeli, Lebonese, etc. The Turkish family that runs this establishment is very friendly, including the young gals serving us on break from college.LE MENUWe tried an assortment many different delights, from:* Rotisserie Chicken; * To Falafels (vegetarian deep-fried nuggets made of ground chickpeas) which can be ordered as an appetizer of neggets or in a flour wrap;* Gyro meats (mostly beef & lamb) on a bed of steamed veggies (or in a flour wrap;* Baklava (a pastry of multi-layered philo dough drenched in honey with nuts)And we tried an array of drinks including a pomegranate sparkling wine.Everything was delicious and I truly the handful of times I have been here.THE LOWDOWNYou need to check this spot out and invite to come with you! I can't get enough of this cuisine! :D"
"Been wanting to try their gyros for quite a while and saw there was a Groupon! Got the Groupon for 2 gyros (lamb not included) for about $13 which is pretty much BOGO. I ordered the chicken and the gyro itself was different from other gyros that I've tried, in a good way!! It was not too saucy and had feta cheese, walnuts, and some sort of fruit in it which was a great addition. It was pretty yummy! My bf and I both enjoyed the gyros. We also ordered a cheesecake and that was super delicious! Nice and creamy."
"Palladio shopping center is capital B, Busy, during December, the holidays. I confess, I was there shopping for some last minute holiday gifts. After my shopping, I was feeling a bit peckish and wanted to grab takeout to bring home. I landed on Petra Greek. It is counter service with a varied Mediterranean menu options from appetizer, gyros, plates, and dessert options AND burgers and fries AND beers (draft and bottled). I was not sure what was beeftekia, I asked the cashier and she nicely explained. It is baked minced ground beef patty with Mediterranean seasonings. I was intrigued, so I ordered the beeftekia plate. It came with two patties, rice pilaf, Greek salad, tzakziki, and pita. The beeftekia patty had a light airy texture and packed with lots of bold Mediterranean flavors/seasinings. The salad was fresh tasting. The tzakziki was a thick consistency with bright flavors and served cold, it was delicious. I am lactose intolerant and can digest lactose if I take a lactase enzyme (pill). There are not alot of dairy food items that I choose to take a pill to enjoy. But their tzakziki is one of them. The dining room is clean, modern, and comfortable with a couple of TV screens tuned to sports channels. They also have an outdoor patio but it is not heated."
"Big portions and savory flavor were presented to us at Mr Greek Donair & Kebab. Some of the best lamb my mom had ever eaten. Lamb shank in general is supposed to tender when slow braised and theirs was exceptional. She particularly enjoyed the flavor of the tomato saffron sauce as it wasn't salty and they served a lot of it. For myself I ordered the giant chicken donair. It was heavy, juicy and messy but I finished it all despite its massive size. We also got three crispy potato samosas. There was variety of sauce cups that came with our meal and my favorite was their spiciest one. Tucked into the Delta Shores shopping center, this establishment was clean, with enough seating and a large counter where you can see the food being made. They were a bit busy when we came on a rainy Saturday around lunch time. I noticed there were a lot of to go orders from delivery apps. Staff were very nice and politely answered our questions. They did not take too long in making our food. Rest room was fairly tidy. We will return to try their kebabs, salads and falafels."
"A staple in the downtown Sacramento area the Crest is a must for lunch. The menu has been simplified but there are options for something light to a full buffet (which has come back since it was shut down for COVID). There is usually a line out the door but you can also order ahead online if you are in a rush. My favorites are the chicken shawarma wrap or the tacos. Both are filling and full of flavor that will leave you happy after lunch. During the warm weather the patio seating is available and makes for a relaxing lunch too. They also have the option of catering for events which works perfectly for any office party."

Sal's Kabob Gyro Grill is hands down the best Mediterranean food in town! Our family has been coming here for years, and every visit feels like coming home. Sal, the owner, is always so welcoming and kind to us. He treats every guest like family, and it makes the whole experience even more special. Now, let's talk about the food--absolute perfection! The lamb kabobs are cooked to juicy perfection, full of flavor, and just melt in your mouth. We also love the chicken shawarma; it's seasoned so well, and the garlic sauce that comes with it is heavenly. The gyros are packed with fresh ingredients, and don't even get me started on the hummus! Creamy, rich, and paired with the best warm pita bread you'll ever taste. If you're looking for authentic, delicious Mediterranean cuisine with an owner who genuinely cares about his customers, look no further than Sal's. We're lucky to have found this gem!

I've always seen Pita Q ever since college, but never tried it out until recently. My boyfriend and I decided to eat it for lunch after going to the gym. We both ordered a gyro rice bowl to go. Both rice bowls were packed! We ate it as soon as we got home and we both finished in one sitting. It was really good! Seriously no complaints at all. I would definitely recommend to anyone and come again!

I went to Urban Grill & Salad for my lunch break during work because I wanted something healthier and filling. I decided to get the chicken rice bowl and it was sooo good. The staff was really friendly and let me take home all the different types of sauces to see which one I liked with the dish. I liked that it was a generous amount and I can't wait to go back.

Delicious food and great service! My family came around 5 on a Tuesday so the restaurant was pretty empty when we came in. After perusing the menu, we decided on the garlic chicken plate, the chicken kabob platter, and the ground sirloin/beef kafta plate. The dinner entrees come with a plate of salad and some pita bread as well. Just a disclaimer though, if you want tzatziki or hummus, you have to order separately for those. My favorite was the chicken kabob, grilled to perfection and still juicy. The portion sizes are huge so the four of us were able to eat to our fill with three plates and we still had leftovers. The decor is also lovely and I'd love to come back if I'm ever visiting the area!

Ambiance:Not too much ambiance in this business. It is clean and the staff are friendly. Large tables are great for larger groups. Service:They take your no order at the counter and will bring it to your table if dining onsite. Very friendly and will be happy to help you choose a dish suited for your taste. Food:I have tried both the Chicken and Steak Sharma Bowl and the Greek Fries. All were yummy and will be my new favorite. Give this place a try; they have many yummy dishes. See you there!

Looks and tasted great! You know the food is great when you're already thinking about posting a great review on Yelp while you're eating the food. The pita was perfectly buttered, soft with a slight crisp, the rice was fluffy- not clumpy and the gyros pieces were plenty, hearty and well seasoned. A little extra butter or sumac in the rice would have made this perfect. Made by a young cook named Atlar (sp). I really appreciate really great quality these days as most places have fallen off.

Had a fun lunch today w/Yelp pals to try Jayna Greek Food and it was great! We started with pomegranate wine and apps like Greek fries (w/feta), falafels, and spanikopita (which I ate so fast o forgot to take a photo!). Then we ordered Islander - a platter of beef/lamb gyros to top of toasted pita bread squares and sauce with grilled tomato and shishito pepper and a whole rotisserie chicken with a double side of chickpea rice! Everything was amazing! Thank goodness I was too full to do my Opa dance....I probably would've scared the other patrons...but I DID twirl my linen napkin and cheer when my food was delivered!! The ambiance of the Sacramento mid-town location was very swanky cool but relaxed...making it a perfect spot to hang out with friends! There is also covered patio seating if you want to dine al fresco. There's a full bar as well...and they have signature cocktails like the hibiscus margarita (which I will have to try on my next visit!).

"If I can go to Vela Cafe, then I'm definitely looking forward to lunch. I'm an endearing fan of their Chicken Shish Kabab Pita. It takes several minutes to prepare, but its well worth your time. The chicken has always been moist, tender and flavorful.....as if everything is cooked only when ordered. If you've been on the hunt for an alternative to sandwiches, then this pita is your savior. And here's the bonus, the restaurant's dining area is kept very clean and depending on the day of the week you can dine in peace. That's worth the walk all by itself!"
"I finally had the chance to visit this place after hearing many good things about it. It is located in a nondescript part of a strip mall, so it is very easy to miss. We came in around 6:15pm and there was one group of 4 ahead of us. We were promptly seated and the waiter took our order. The salads and bread that came with the dish were served immediately. We were so glad because the main dish came in 30 minutes later. The food was seasoned well but missing something. I tried sprinkling some salt and voila my dinner was perfect. They also have a very nice outdoor seating with grape vines! This is definitely a hidden gem."
"Love this place. Found it to be better than the one that recently opened in the fountains. I seriously drive from the other side of Roseville to eat here. I wish one would open up closer to me. Super chill place, service is always great, food is always fresh, definitely recommend the frozen yogurt with honey and baklava"
"Wow, finally a go-to greek spot to locate. Coming from out of town I have been searching for a new Greek place to enjoy. This is it--easily. First off, the service is exceptional. Such a nice guy working the counter. Pleasant, funny, and can tell he cares about quality. I grabbed a couple things to try, gyro, habibi fries, and the crepe. We also got to try the garlic bread. Garlic bread is fantastic! It's full of flavor unlike most places that just offer a slight spread, this and everything else on the menu is well worth it's price fin quantity. The gyro meat was delicious and met with a heaping amount, with the pita filled out with tomatoes onions and lettuce. The tzatziki was so good I got an extra side cause I wanted more. To fill up every item I ordered. The fries were bomb, but because the gyro size I couldn't finish them, so nothing like snack to enjoy later in the day.All in all, 100% quality and quantity with great service."
"They closed at 9pm and we showed up around 8:30ish. Upon arriving here there was a lot of weird people soliciting in the front. I don't think it's the establishment's fault because theres a liquor store next door but it was very suspicious that they were hanging out in front of the gyro place and not the liquor store. We walked in an tried to order. There was no one in the front to take our order. After waiting 5 minutes we rang the bell. He came out and said in a rude tone take out only. We said okay because it was close to closing. I believe they are severely under staffed because after we ordered the cashier went back to the kitchen and did not come back out for 10 minutes. Finally came back out and the food looked good. We ordered three philly cheese steaks and a lamb fries. The lamb was decent and marinated well but the fried were over cooked. Very crunchy. And the bread they used for the philly cheese steaks were like old dry bread. Every bite you would have to wash it down with a soda. We eventually used a fork to eat the meat and threw the bread away. "Philly dry steak""
"Just amazing! When there with my friend on a Sunday. I tried the appetizer which comes in four dips and it was delicious! For the Entrée I got the Souvlaki plate with tenderloin.Everyone who works there was super nice! And the place looked clean and nice!"
"Best Greek fool in Roseville wow this food was incredible with fresh cut vegetables and fantastic falafel."
"I am a big fan of nick the Greek! I actually tried it for the first time recently and it is easily one of my favorite go tos and I feel like it is more of a healthier option! I always get the gyro bowl with falafel and they make the falafel so crispy and yummy! Their nick the fries are a really nice portion as well! Will continue to come here as I am on my health kick right now. The customer service at the Elk Grove one is wonderful. Super polite and clean. Plenty of seating. I had evi? Not sure. Some gentlemen with a cool mustache help me! Really friendly. Like I said. One of my favs. I plan to continue to come often!"
"These bad reviews are WHACK. Most likely rival gyro shops trying to turn away customers. I've tried every shop in town and aces is the BEST. Crispy spicy flavorful meat seasoning on POINT. The owner is very welcoming and the food is authentic"
"Myokonos Fries $15 was PACKED with protein and fries. Great to share among a group.Parked in the gas station parking lot. Easy to spot.Nowhere to sit so we just ate in our car which was fine."
"Decided to pop in and give this place a try last night. I ordered the feta fries and let me just say this....I could not stop eating them, once I started. They were so tasty and filling. The staff were great and very helpful with answering any questions."
"XtremeBitez is now my go to for halal food in Elk Grove. One of my friends had recommended this place to me and I made sure to check it out. I decided to go here on a Thursday evening and luckily was able to get my order in before it got busy. I got the mixed platter which is grilled chicken and lamb over rice and salad. I also asked for extra white sauce and spicy sauce. It was so good! I don't think I'll ever change my order here. The mixed platter was perfect. I might have to get two orders next time since I'm devouring it too fast. The employees are nice and there's a good amount of tables to sit inside. They also serve desserts if you're craving something sweet.Thank you XtremeBitez!"
"This Nick the Greek location is right by the Fountain at The Fountains! It's big with lots of outdoor and indoor seating. It's hard to park here so go the the big lots on either side of the shopping center. I've been here twice and the food was great both times. I got the lamb/beef gyro/fries/soda combo both times and loved it. The sandwich is stuffed with meat and the fries are hot and plentiful. It's such a wonderful alternative to fast food for about the same price. Check it out!!"
"This popped up on my radar as a new location so decided to take my mom and check it out. We both enjoy Mediterranean food! It's a casual place... order at the counter, fill your cup at the soda machine... but they do bring the food to your table when it's ready.Mom ordered the Souvlaki Plate + Australian Lamb. They asked her to choose a side between rice, fries or feta fries and she declined all three... so they asked if she'd like a larger salad and she agreed to that.I ordered the Classic Greek Salad and added Gyro meat for protein. We were given a number marker to put on our table. Our meals arrived quickly and were visually impressive - large portions! Ok, I did order the "large" salad + protein... but I wasn't able to finish it... so I feel the value was there, which is definitely a welcome things these days. One of the standout items was mom's lamb skewers (she shared with me) - great taste and nice and tender - perfectly done.We finished by sharing baklava ice cream. We weren't intending to have dessert, but we were intrigued and decided to give it a try. Our meals were fresh and tasty... service prompt and friendly, convenient location, what isn't there to like?"
"Nice to have Nick close to my house : - good food (great gyro and well seasoned chicken) - good service - clean establishment (it's new , hope it stays like this) I look forward to coming here again and again..."
"A new location in rancho, off sunrise Blvd..They have a drive thru for pick up and I love that for the convenience or even to order for take out too. It's a great option for if you just can't get off the car ir just need some service out the window. Jsy we all have those days. .Some stuff I tried is there plates. Sides and dips. .Plates .Lamb Shank plate - big Lamb leg on a bone, served with rice and hummus, and a salad. The Lamb Shank has a nice hot sauce on the side to go with it. It's gives it a the perfect spice to enhance the flavor of the Lamb. The Lamb meat was tender and soft. .Combo kebab plate - meat was halal. The chicken was white chicken meat. It was moist. The beef kebab was mixed in a nice spice. It was juicy too. Comes with rice and salad as well. .Beef Lamb shcwarma wrap - wrapped in a thin tortilla and lots of veggies with white sauce was refreshing and so comforting. .Greek fries - deep fried fries with warm Feta and drenched with white sauce, wish it was a little more crispy but the flavors was there. .Falafel made fresh and deep fried to perfection with granola oil. It was so clean and perfect light crunch when you need something fulfilling without the guilt. .Lentil soup- ma was coughing like a storm and they made some warm soup with only lenthil and spices and it hit the spot. It was sooo good. Warmed up the soul on a cold chilly day. .Greek salad - my new favorite salad. It was so refreshing and eye pleasing. It really is fresh. Love the ingredients mixed into it and was the perfect pairing with all the bread, rice, and protein bites. .Overall everything is really well rounded good here. I really like the service from rhe owner where a customer mention about another place she use to go to and talked about an item. The owner went ahead and made a small order for her to try. I really thought that was thoughtful, generous, and truly want to satisfy/memorable a customers want/craving experience. The presentation of the food is colorful, vibrant, and yummy too, great textures too. Hope this review helps. Thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day."
"Cali kabob & gyro house!! A new place in Rancho Cordova right off the Bradshaw exit! Some of my family has been here a few times and loves it! Stopped in tonight and wasn't disappointed.I got the beef & lamb gyro with fries. Everything was cooked perfectly! The portion size was HUGE!I'm not a vegetarian but I hear great things about the falafel plate! Come check this place out and support our small businesses!"
"Very delicious donair shop ran by father and son. The chicken donair was so good! It was packed with fresh veggies, chicken, hummus and sauces. I am a sauce-driven eater, so I thrilled when they dropped off squeeze bottles of hot sauce and garlic sauce with our meals. We loved the food and service. The indoor seating area was very clean and suitable for a fast meal.Highly recommend this fine establishment for a very tasty and fresh meal."
"Pretty good Mediterranean food!At first when I saw the drive-through window outside I was worried if this place is fast food and not legit, but was I wrong! Once I walked inside the restaurant you see pretty nice (Mediterranean?) decorations everywhere. Even the bathroom was super clean inside. The food is pretty good! The rice is plain white, which was unexpected because usually I thought there is some kind of sauce to make the rice non-white. In any case the rice and gyro tasted good, and the Tzatziki sauce on the side tasted legit. Everything was served warm which was nice! The service is good. I asked a bunch of newbie questions and the staff took the time to answer me. I asked for utensils and they were happy to include them. All in all, a good place for Mediterranean food!"
"Over the years, I've enjoyed Petra's gyros, meat & chicken skewers, pita, rice pilaf, fries, hummus, tzatziki, fry sauce, and even $1 happy hour Olympia beer! It's all been very consistent with quality, flavor, portion, and value. My favorite is the "Petra Special Plate" ($22). You get a beef patty, a pork skewer, chicken skewer, rice or fries, salad, pita bread, hummus, and tzatziki. It's a great sample of what's on their menu, and plus it's a lot of food to share or pig out on! The chicken is surprisingly tender, the beef patty is packed with flavor, and the pork is the best meat. I'm not much of a lamb fan, but I have had it here, and they do it right. Petra is great for happpy hour and late night bites. Food is always served hot and fresh. Meet me at the (Petra) Greek!"
