This place was A-Ok, but I have hope that it will see better days (at least for me). Since I came specifically for the elote, and I came during the winter and corn is out of season, I was really disappointed that my elote (got the one in the bowl for $5, otherwise on the stick was $2.50. ) had little flavor. elote/corn is one of my favorite foods, and maybe because I was spoiled to have the corn man in LA many times, I was just expecting more from El Paisano based on reviews. I have hope that when corn is in season, like during the summer, the elote would have better flavor. The chili powder also wasn't spicy at all so I'm not sure what the point of that was..I also ordered two tacos, one adovada, and one asada. I personally thought the asada was pretty good but the adovada was meh.. came with onions and cilantro, grilled onions, and radish. Tacos were $1.5 each. Service was pretty fast and very friendly. Parking lot is horribly shaped.. the spots are angled towards and exit that does not exist. I will be back again to try the elote again... hopefully when the corn itself tastes better.
