Well-lit parking lot. I highly recommend the Akakan Cod. Tender fish cooked up crunchy. Flaky white meat. I walked in at 8 p.m. on Wednesday night, ordered to-go, and was on my way within 15 minutes. If it's been around since '74... there's probably a reason."

Bonn Lair is an amazing experience! You are transported to a real British Pub with exceptional brews and plenty of UK cuisine. It is a happy experience with many loyal regulars. The community is very diverse, loving and kind! Just stopped in on the way home, been wanting to try it for a while. I got the 3/3 combo tenders and thighs, and okra side. Took about 10-15 minutes which tells me they are cooking it fresh so no big deal. People on here complaining it took too long, go to Popeyes. I took it to go and ate at home, way down Fulton in Sierra Oaks and it was still very hot. The first bite of the chicken thigh and its delicious crispy skin took me right back to sitting at my grandmas house eating Sunday dinner as a kid. Okra too was great, lightly fried and not greasy. I was glad to see a couple containers of hot sauce in the bag. I'm a Tabasco guy but you don't put tobacco on chicken. Portions were good! I'm a big dude and I barely got through the thighs and okra. Tenders were the same, nice and crispy. Fries were good and fresh. Can't wait to try the fish! GOOD MEAL!!

One of the Tugboat Fish & Chips locations clustered in the area (there's like 4 of them within a 5 mile radius lol). Here I got the 2 piece fish with chips and a side order of calamari. The fish and chips were very meh (rubbery fish and soggy under-salted chips) but the calamari was a 10/10 snack (super crispy and not overly chewy at all).Lady at the cashier who also cooked/prepared the food was really friendly. Overall recommend this spot if you want something like a popcorn chicken seafood equivalent (get the calamari!).

Staff is clearly overworked, angry, and feels the need to make sure everybody knows it.That said, the food was excellent.If you don't mind profanity, heavy metal music, and staff that's a little rough around the edges, the burgers are decent. Not great, but adequate for the price - without dealing with the traffic, lines and parking at In & Out.I really just wanted a greasy burger and fries, and my craving was satiated. This place is close to where I live, so I'll likely be by again when I need something quickly and my favorite place is already closed.

I was recently in the area and accidentally discovered this gem of a place tucked somewhere in the Valley Hi area of South Sacramento. This place offers authentic London Style Fish and Chips. I ordered the fish market special that comes with chips, fried onion rings and zucchini and 4 mini fried pollock fish. The fish was fresh and crispy and the sides were also good. Service was impeccable and they provided you with all the condiments needed for your eating pleasure. Go check this place out!

My girlfriend and I went for lunch, we both had fish and chips and a soft drink in a can.We were pleasantly surprised that we only got charged $1.35 per can for the soda because most other restaurants that sell cans get two or three dollars for them.The fries were hot when they arrived and didn't have any fishy flavor, in fact, the fish didn't really have a fishy flavor so everything was quite good and fresh. We were very happy with our meal and would recommend this place.The seats are a little tattered and have been duct taped, but the place was clean and the food was good, so don't go for the atmosphere, go for the food!

As we walk in straight metal is playing; it wasn't great but at least somewhat tolerable I guess? Upon receiving our food my husband's looks good but mine was super overdone and inedible. I've only ever had to return food one other time in my life (diff restaurant and was too spicy) so I explained how hard the fish was and was asked if I wanted it remade to which I said yes please. As we waited for my new order, the music got stranger and stranger and honestly I wouldn't even call it music. Like it just felt like we were on another planet (and not in a good way). Also during this time I used the bathroom and it was so filthy which was concerning and made me think about how the rest of the restaurant was cleaned. Eventually my new order was ready and he even remade the fries which was not needed but very nice. Still though the music made it hard to converse and I ate quickly so we could get the heck out of there. I'm sure you're wondering how the food was? The steak fries were really good, the fish the second time was a lot better but still I know there's better spots out there for fish and chips. Would I return? Pretty unlikely, but if I did I'd probably get a burger instead."

May A. "Delicious fish & chips!We were filling up our tank at Costco gas when I called around 7:20p to confirm what time they closed. We were told 8:00p. We got done with gas about 10 mins after and headed straight to the restaurant, which was in the same area. The door was unlocked but lights were dimmed. We made our way inside until we saw someone (presumably the owner), he was by himself. He said they were closed even after he confirmed over the phone that he closed at 8:00p. Why the 5-Stars. We left and just as we were about to get inside our car the owner came running out and said he can take our order as long as it's takeout. We gladly said yes and made our way back inside the restaurant. He took our order... 3-piece fish & chips and he proceeded to go to the kitchen. It looked like he has already shut down the kitchen for the evening but he fired it up again to get our order out. We appreciated.It was 8:00p and we just ate inside our car. It was a bit of a challenge but we made it work and no mess LoL! The fish & chips were delicious! Yummy crispy batter and he gave us 2 extra pieces... a total of 5-pieces of cod fish that my hubby and I shared. I love Tugboat's Fish & Chips. The Tugboat closer to our home (#8), closed shop permanently. I'm glad the owner obliged. I was craving! Review #2682"
