Wendy G. "The most adorable boutique bakery and coffee shop at the Palladio! Stumbled across it after browsing books at Barnes and Noble. The business owner behind the counter is sweet and friendly. I'm impressed my made to order boba was excellent and beat the usual boba shops around town - so you have to try them! They also have a great selection of coffee, tea, and boba, along with scrumptious desserts. There are about 4 bistro type marble tables inside, and more outside across from the garden.Chill vibe, high ceilings, floor to ceiling walls, nice view of the garden, picturesque, thoughtfully decorated with detail, very nice touch, felt boutiquey and European. Just a beautiful space to stop and enjoy a drink and a snack.Husband had Temple coffee, we split a yummy, moist, blueberry scone, and I had delicious taro boba with the perfect amount of chew on their freshly made boba. Not too sweet, either. Will be one of our favorite stores and will be returning regularly. So glad this shop is only a few minutes from our house. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! Hope you drop by and support local, non-franchise-owned small businesses! You won't regret it = )"

Megan H. "We met Chef Jeff after an event at the arena today and are so glad we wandered by his store! He was very cheerful and patient - it was hard to choose from all the delicious flavors he had to offer! After much deliberation, we agreed on the s'mores cheesecake (as state fair winner!), and it was fabulous! We will definitely be back!"

Rachel K. "Rick's is known for their desserts BUT the big sign outside says they're now serving the Best Deli Sandwiches in Sac and I had to try them first hand. I was on J street for meetings and took advantage of this perfect timing to enjoy lunch from Rick's Dessert Diner. For me it's typically an evening stop for dessert or LATE night spot because they're open until 11pm Sun-Th and until 1am F-Sat.I highly suggest trying them for lunch though! When I stopped in a little after 12:30pm on a Friday it was empty and I was greeted right away. I asked the staff about the sandwiches and they let me know about some of their suggestions- they have a menu of sandwich options and a build your own menu and it's all customizable depending on your preferences.I filled out a couple of the sandwich sheets so I could try one of their creations and a build your own option. As I worked on these the restaurant started getting busier with lunch customers.I ended up ordering the Brando ($15.99) that comes with pastrami, swiss cheese, sauerkraut, Thousand Island dressing, and their signature Sourdough roll. It also came with lettuce and tomato. On my Build Your Own ($15.99) I chose the Signature Sourdough with Deli Dressing, Bourbon Ridge Ham and Genoa Salami, Provolone cheese, lettuce, tomato, pickles, onion, banana peppers and bell peppers. These sandwiches are made of fresh rolls and the Signature Sourdough is unique- it was darker than I'm used to on the outside and flavorful but fluffy on the inside. The meat options are from Boar's Head. Both sandwiches were big and filled with toppings. I actually enjoyed the Brando more than my build your own option- they were both tasty though.I would 100% come back for another sandwich and I'd love to try more of the options on their menu. They also have coffee, breakfast sandwiches, breakfast burritos and alcohol options on top of the dessert options everyone knows them for. While I don't know if I'd say they have the best Deli Sandwiches is Sac- they certainly were delicious!"

Marie B. "We are so glad we chose Susan and the Wedding Department at Freeport Bakery for our wedding cake and dessert bar. From the very beginning, Susan was incredibly responsive and helpful. She patiently answered all of my questions and worked closely with us to find options that fit perfectly within our budget. Susan was an absolute rockstar, going above and beyond with number crunching to make sure everything was just right! They coordinated drop off at our venue which appeared to go smoothly because I had not a clue when they arrived and when they left - they communicated with our coordinator and venue manager which really helped alleviate some day of stressors. The cake and desserts were beautiful and absolutely delicious! Our guests couldn't stop raving about the dessert selection, and most of it was gone by the end of the night - which is exactly what we hoped for! We even managed to save and freeze a few treats for later. One of the perks of choosing Freeport Bakery for your wedding is the option to have a fresh, smaller version of your cake made for your one year anniversary. This eliminates the need to freeze part of your wedding cake, and we can't wait to enjoy a fresh one next year!Thank you so much, Susan and team, for helping make our wedding day truly perfect! We highly recommend them to any couple looking for a bakery that excels in both taste and presentation. You won't be disappointed!"
