"They sure keep this place clean. Inside and out. Every morning they have a guy meticulously sweeping couple leaves in the parking lot outside the store. It shows me they care. And the family working there is always nice and friendly.Don't know how good their food is since I only stop for beer. In the evening time, you are always guaranteed to see some entertainment, whether it is a cracked up lady dancing by herself in the parking lot like Snooki or some homeless guy running around like crazy, rolling in the dirt. This place is where the action is at."
"I love this little market place because it's convenient if you live in River Park. They have a decent spread. From milk to beer; chips to frozen pizzas; and all the snacks to fill your junk food craving. They also have a decent selection of wines for a small liquor store. River Park residents, support this local market! You never know when you'll be in the middle of baking and need eggs! You'll be thankful its right around the corner!!"
"Gas wise I'm not complaining. It's cheap, I can fill up fine and since they changed their gas station to a Valero, it's much better than before. Cons: place is small. It only has 4 pumps, and I don't mind waiting in line but when you do lineup, you end up blocking ways for people that are just going in the market. Another con is the area it's in. Sometimes you see sketchy people and things being done there but I'm not going to go into detail about that. Their market is big! Lots of alcohol choices, wine, and sodas. Their food selection is ok, they sell eggs though! And their blunt wraps are only 1 dollar even! And the people inside are so friendly and helpful!"
"I really love to champion local shops at all times possible, but this one was hard. Crowded and doing nothing remotely to adhere to any safety regulations pertaining to COVID-19, Fast Stop was neither fast nor convenient. I popped in expecting a fast in and out experience but ended up waiting for an interminably slow line at the counter for unknown reasons. The non-alcoholic drinks I bought were not the cheapest. The parking lot itself was a danger zone. Cars blasting music and almost knocking into each other as they pulled out.So why 3 stars? The clerk was super nice and seemed overwhelmed, so perhaps this was on off day in terms of traffic. As for the COVID-19 regulations, I also can't see how they would strike a balance between staying open and still completely adhering to those rules. Perhaps I'll visit again, but perhaps not. Consider this a generous review for a local business during a time of crisis."
"Great cheese steak, exceeds expectations. Also, I appreciate their (2) cashiers keeping the line from forming. Many places look to save $$ and screw the cash paying customer. Makes you want to return to buy gas here at GHM."
"Update time!! Gold Star Market is now under new ownership. Which for this place is a good thing! They have cleared out the old food items and to my surprise they even got rid of the "Jungle Juice" (LOL, $1 wine that looked so old it was probably vinegar!)! Overall they have made some great improvements with the addition of no ATM fee and some actual desirable wines like Boogle. Now do not get me wrong, this is no great market but as a convenient store I can handle coming here for my Jumbo Ranch Sunflower seeds and Slim Jim's (A must need as a state employee!).Side note: they have kept all the various items one would need to smoke on that kinda illegal but for medical purposes green stuff but eh it would not be a corner store without it, Right???"
"Yaaay me.. So glad i get to be first! I lived close to this market ALL my life. When I used to walk here after school, I buy candy, soda, chips..junk food! Now I just come occasionally to get soda or scratchers, cigarettes cost more here and other munchies I get from walmart. Its a very little store that is part of a 2 story building. The family who owns it lives across and are very nice people! They don't have lots, just a friendly neighborhood convenient store serving my hood on elder creek rd ya dig?!"
"A decent and relatively well-maintained General Store that caters to the downtown crowd aka a lot of State workers. It's not doing anything exceptional but it is a good option for those in the area. I like this store in particular because it's a little off the beaten path. It's naturally situated in an area where the only clientele are going to be folks who are coming to, leaving or breaking from their job in the numerous surrounding buildings. That eliminates a lot of the traffic and interesting clientele you'd get with, say, your traditional 7-11. The store includes a deli which sells sandwiches, wraps, soups and salads. I've mostly stopped in for snacks over the years but I did have a sandwich once. It was fine in a pinch, but I can also think of many tastier and more exciting offerings from other nearby eateries."
"That night were two young cashiers at the front. Very friendly and sweet, helped with alcohol recommendations."
"We did a random "deli" Yelp search on our way back from Kirkwood and we turned around to back track a little for this. It hit the spot after a long day on the mountain. I definitely recommend stopping in for a sandwich if you're in the area."
"My friend and I ate here recently. It's one of the few convenient stores which also doubles as a sandwich shop. She ordered the samosas and I had the Tuna Melt combo meal. There were huge chunks of tuna mixed with mayo, sliced onions, and topped with American cheese. Served on lightly toasted white bread. This place is packed during a busy lunch hour, but we were in-and-out within a few minutes. The daily specials are inexpensive."
"Hello friendz!! This review is more for the recycling part of power mart then the liquor store I don't really know much about the liquor store, except that's where I get my cash from recycling!! They have decent hours although they're closed on like Sunday and Tuesday which is kind of weird to not have back to back days off anyway. They are very organized it doesn't look like it when you first get there because so many people go there and they don't pick up their trash which is terrible!! I hate litter bugs!! . They're fast & they're efficient, they know what they're doing. I'm telling you when the lady (I'm so sorry I forgot her name) swings the heavy cans to weight the recycling, it is amazing to see her work!! She's is awesome!! She knows what she is doing and she's super nice!! Last time I was there the male worker was smashing the glass to compact it!! Boy, what a trip that is & noisy!! Just like other recycling centers, you get your cans, get in line, then when it is your turn they weigh it and then they give you a slip of paper. Then you go to the power mart liquor store part and they catch you out!! It's a good recycling center!! You should try it!! PLEASE don't litter!!"

Came in here last week hoping to get a little piece of the pie and purchased 10.00 worth of Mega Million. This place is rough, Walmart on the first kind of rough. I don't mind it too much I love the different characters and chaos that came in while my 7 minute visit. As I was waiting in line 2 homeless guy came in and asked for Ice-Cream after being told where it was at walked back to the Ice-Cream section, got the Ice-Cream and started to eat the Ice-Cream without paying. While that was going on a few High School kids walked in and ran out with a few bags of chips. At this point I was like WTF, am I on MTV's punk'd?Long story short I got my Mega Million and made it out alive. They have a little section of the market that serves hot food i.e. Fried Chicken, chicken kabobs and other fried goodies. Cant wait to try'em.

Three reasons this place is my favorite tienda (besides it being right around the corner from my house):- They always have a cooler full of Ben & Jerry's pints, with a myriad of flavors- They always have cold beer - They always have DjarumsOn the few occasions I've had to buy something potentially sketchy like milk, it's neither expired nor some creepy unknown brand with foreign writing. The guy who works there seemingly every moment of his waking life is really cool and friendly. They get a lot of business from the Paradise Beach crowd, and he's pretty patient. I've seen some drunk rude a-holes give him lip and he just tells them politely to get lost.

Cheap gas, and sometimes BAD gas.Used to pick up a tank when I lived down the road from this place...until my car started sputtering after buying from there. Checked through the engine, nothing seemed wrong. Next time I bought gas there...same issue.Word to the wise, you take a risk with discount gas places.

I shop here often because Gold Star and the AM/PM on 16th Street always has the cheapest deals on beer in the downtown area. The owners are attentive to the needs of their customers. When they were out of Hurricane back in August, they have since made a concerted effort to always keep it in-stock. A 3-pack of 25 oz. Hurricane here is $4.55. There's price tags on the alcohol and, unlike Southside Market, they keep consistent hours and are open on weekends. They also have a small selection of groceries, lotto scratchers, and a frozen beverage machine called Siberian Chill. For its convenient location, good customer service, and inexpensive alcohol, Gold Star earns a five-star rating.

Food not that good went on my break and it wasn't good as I thought it would be kinda of disappointing when you specifically ask for wheat bread and the guy gives you white not knowing you are allergic to it plus they run out of a lot of stuff

"We were able to get everything that we needed (coors light, white claws, chips and water). The store was VERY clean and the cashier was incredibly friendly. There were others in the store that seemed to be locals grabbing items that they needed. They also have fishing items and a fridge of bait and tackle. Very cute liquor store."
"Oh joy! I get my 1st ever FIRST to review a business! I stop in here once in awhile when passing or going to Rio Linda. Well lit, not full of riff raff/criminals, clean and has all the usual suspects one would expect from a Rite Aid. The cashiers have been friendly enough when I ask them ?s. Store rates a 4/5."
"4/13/2023: I broke down purchasing homemade baked goods-one brownie and two cookies, i.e., two chocolate toffee cookies and one chocolate brownie . . . it will be painful metering, controlling my sweet tooth! I really will try controlling slowing down inhaling these two cookies and brownie in one or two gulps; however, sometimes, I find it virtually impossible when homemade baked goods are so deliciously delectable!Nevertheless, I will attempt refraining inhaling all three before Sunday! Please PRAY for me!"
"This place is a local gem located in the seafood city plaza. Their marinated meat selection is top tier and so flavorful when grilled. The workers are so friendly and efficient. I love local mom and pop places. For marinated meat, their prices are competitive. I rather buy Korean short ribs here that's marinated for 8.99 than go to the Asian market and buy it unmarinated for the same price!"
"Not the best, not the worst. It's a convenience store in that it is indeed convenient when you want something they have (cheap gas, tobacco, malt liquor, sodas, snacks, etc.) and happen to be passing by. Like most places that sell liquor, it's not the best place to hang out at night because, as the song goes "the freaks come out at night." There gas prices aren't as cheap as they used to be and I found the evening clerk to be kind of rude. He actually said, "No, listen to me" when I was trying to figure out how to use the ancient debit card machine. I also had some problems with the gas pump. I'll be back I'm sure because it is convenient. Otherwise, there are plenty of other options."
"I Love the fact there's so many great choices on craft beers to pick from and the owners are super nice and helpful and will help find what you are looking for and the store is very clean. I highly recommend this place for everyone if your into craft beers and they also have some hard ciders as well. I will definitely be coming back for sure, my husband and I love this place."
"I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THIS PLACE! You can't ask for anything more. This store carries most things and prices are reasonable and it's still a neighborhood store, so you don't have to feel like spit when you shop there. This place is usually busy, they get a lot of foot traffic, in spite of Pine Cove Liquors being right next door. They're open late, all three guys that work there are SO friendly and cool and what I love is that every time I walk in, they have my cigarettes waiting for me on the counter. At one time they used to cash checks, but there wasn't enough business for it, so I'm not sure if they still do it or not. They don't sell liquor, but they have killer deals on cheap beer-"out the door" as they say.Prime location, great prices, they have items in stock, they're open late, the staff is hella friendly, and they do their best to keep the bums away.THUMBS WAY THE F***K UP!"
"Lot's of selection here. Craft Beer, Wines, Cig's! Tell Joe, you seen us on yelp!"
"This is the place! I'm telling you, it is THE place. I was cat/house sitting in the area and I stopped by here lured in with a sign out front that promised bottles of 7Up for only 99 cents! Oh mon dieu, I need 7up!Walked in, grabbed soda and spotted some premade sandwiches in the display case. And a woman walked around the corner at that moment to add more fresh made to the display. So good! Sliced bread sandwiches for only $1.99 or on a hoagie roll for $2.99. Loaded with ham, turkey, cheese, salami, tuna or chicken salad. Each sandwich is made a little different, so look at each one to see which you like the best."
"Found this place on social media...they have the best choices for craft beers and random beers from breweries all over the place. I love to come here and check out their IPA of the month or their Employees Top Pick, and it gives me an opportunity to sample beers I never would encounter elsewhere. Easy street parking, make sure to stop by and check them out!"
"Clean , well stocked and had everything I was looking for. Additionally it seemed very organized and the staff was super nice and eager to help . Prices are very reasonable and they have a large selection of north Indian and South Indian grocery items . Picked up some cool popcorn that I'm sure I'll be polishing off at tonight's movie night!"
"Market and deli in Newcastle I underestimated how bit of a drive this market and deli was from Roseville, it was a good thing I didn't go during my 30-min lunch during the week because there was quite a bit of traffic on I-80 too both ways.I arrived at the location in Newcastle. It's a small town country convenience store and deli selling a variety of local favorite goods. I visited twice to try their sandwiches. The first time I was here I chose a turkey, cheddar, avocado cold sandwich and picked up a Hawaiian fruit salad type of dessert to go with it. Today I came back to try a hot sandwich and got the Tri tip garlic. Both sandwiches were fresh, good and tasty. There is no seating inside so you basically just grab and go and eat your lunch somewhere. There are benches just outside the store. The owner is friendly and helpful especially during my first visit. I've seen many locals drop by, and truckers too (w/o the load on their trucks). This is not a truck stop. The parking is small. If you want something quick to munch on on your way to Reno this is a good place to stop by. Very close to Interstate 80. They do catering service too. Located on Taylor Road in Newcastle. Review #1668"
""I Need A Lottery Win! Can you make it happen for me, J Street Market?"SITREPJ Street Market (aka "J"), is my local convenience store, just two (2) blocks away from my home. If I ever need a quick slim jim fix - or (more likely) replenishment of some Half N' Half for my home-brewed coffee - good ole J comes through.THE SETUPNow I really can't waste my hard-earned CASH on things so silly like LOTTERIES, but you know? If the jackpot is sitting pretty over $1 BILLION, it behooves me to go ahead and throw $10 on some tickets and take my chances, because, WHO KNOWS.MOM & POPThis store is locally owned by a local family, so I feel good about coming to J and patronizing their store. THE LOWDOWNI'm grateful to have a solid convenience store located in my neighborhood."
"Such a kind man was working tonight. I have no idea if he is an owner or an employee but he was so friendly to my child and asked me if it would be ok to give her a lollipop as we checked out. It made her night. I was weary about pulling in to an empty lot, but his customer service was so superb that we left with a smile."
"Tasty lassi and good mehndi! The owner is kind and is lovely to chat with. They have a good selection of Indian and Fijian groceries as well! Nice array of spices :)"
"Even though I'm observing Dry January, thought it would be appropriate to start off 2024 with a toast to ye old local liquor store. For being just a local neighborhood store, this place has quite the selection. It's very well-stocked and the owners are friendly and helpful. You can also find Pliny the Elder here. I was impressed that they have three types of Hendricks gin and unique whiskeys as well. Interesting selection of vodkas and their wines aren't too expensive despite it being a liquor store. Sure you could stop at the grocery store for a few bucks cheaper but could you get in and out in less than a minute? Nah didn't think so."
"Selection is amazing! They have any kind of beer, liquor and even candy that you could ever want! Easy to please a crowd with all the options they have. Need some Tylenol for the morning after? You have a choice of many drugs, yep drugs too. Benadryl, cough drops, they've got it all. Super fast checkout and customer service is a 10/10."
"They have very good prices. Nice family run business. Good selection of drinks. Both alcohol and non alcohol. Cheaper than 7-11 across the street."
"Well idk where to start lol its ghetto, not much more to say LOL theres always people hanging out in the parking lot, people acting a fool in the store, getting hit on by tweaks, etc. But the staff does try...its just hard because of the area. They are always pretty friendly to me. They also have a pretty big selection of stuff. I come here bcuz it's the closest place to my house that has the blunts I like lol if they didnt have em I probably would go somewhere else, honestly"
"A nice little neighborhood liquor store with much more than liquor on the shelves. Fast Stop Food & Liquor is clean, respectable and convenient - the three primary factors I'll look for in the type of store that in general carries the opposite reputation. I popped in for a couple snacks while in the area and was impressed by the selection. Guy behind the counter was friendly. I even saw some items I couldn't find anywhere else (this review written during the current Coronavirus shelter order). I even ended up buying a bunch of things I didn't come in for. Price is a factor, too, and I wouldn't come here first if you're looking for deals. As expected with a smaller store, top shelf liquor comes at (sometimes more) than top shelf prices. It's all offset by the fact that this is a convenience store above all else. The convenience of having so many grab and go goodies just blocks away totally justifies the price difference and also means supporting a local biz!"
"Great local grocery store. The staff is friendly and helpful. Well stocked shelves, beer & liquor. Deli counter has excellent sandwiches, burgers, fried chicken, corndogs, pizza, taquitos. Beautiful view of the Auburn ravine from the picnic area to enjoy your lunch. Glad to patronize a local establishment. They have another location in Georgetown."
"This is one of my new favorite Arco/ampm. There are many pumps and the location is big! There is also a car wash. Inside they are stocked up on everything. For the coffee section they have a nice machine that freshly grounds your coffee. Unlike other ampms they have a creamer machine. Apart from that they also have a nice selection of add ins for your drinks. The employees are all super nice and friendly!"
