"I was so excited for a new restaurant in Elk Grove! Station 16 has a very cool vibe and great atmosphere. I absolutely loved the decor especially the bar. Food and service was excellent although we did come super early on a Saturday eve. Our waiter said the place gets super busy Saturday nights and unless you have a reservation, waits are usually one and a half to two hours so good to know. We started off with the shrimp ceviche which I highly recommend! It was fresh and so good. Passion fruit lemon drops were chefs kiss so kudos to the bartender. For our main course, the Cajun Pasta was amazing. The creamy slightly spicy tomato sauce paired nicely with the prawns, sausage and linguine. I ordered the clam chowder with lobster and omg it was worth the extra cost! We even had leftovers so could enjoy it for lunch the next day. I will definitely return here!"

I don't usually wait, but we had already drove out 40 minutes in the rain and I had to do it for his birthday.I could already tell it's packed by just walking towards the door. Nice guy told us the wait for 2 was gona be 30-40 minutes, but only waited for 20. Nice! Our waiter was cool and friendly! Did my research before coming so, we were ready to order. //APPETIZERS:4/5 stars. Pastrami Reuben Egg Rolls $16+Shaved pastrami, swiss cheese, caraway, sauerkraut, whole grain mustard, with russian dressing.- Love the crispy-ness! I like the meaty taste, so I wished I tasted more pastrami. Slightly sour because of the sauerkraut. Maybe I'm so used to/enjoy filipino eggrolls that I wasn't into this egg roll as I would like to be. The russian dressing was, also, on the slight sour side. Wished the sauce was sweet since the egg rolls were already slightly sour. Still pretty delicious! The cheese and crispy-ness made up for it.5/5 stars. Pan Seared Scallops $26+Parsnip puree, green apple gravy, cranberry sauce, toasted pecans, and micro intensity green. - Yummmmmmmm buttery scallops and I can tell they put so much work on the sides. DELICIOUS!4/5 stars. Oyster Shooter $6+ eachPacific oyster, house made ponzu, sake, siracha, micro cilantro, and piece of lemon on the side of the cup. - Ordered 2. One with sake and the other without cause I am preggo lol. Not suppose to be eating oysters, but haven't had one in sooo looong, so I risked it for the biscuit lol. Clean and buttery oyster. Delish light house made ponzu. Wished it had more cilantro and does not need lemon because ponzu was good enough. They made it into a small cocktail-like drink to sip on which was awesome! Better than any other oyster shooter I've had in a long time. //ENTREES:5/5 stars. PB&J Burger $21+TCT Bacon Jam Fig Burger. Rib brisket chuck blend ground beef, bacon, fig jam, brie, arugula, mustard aioli. - Peanut butter and jelly... WHAAAAAAAAT?! WOW! Amazing. Who would have thought a peanut butter and jelly burger would be a hit?! We wanted some thing different for a change and this was the star of the show. No arugula. No big deal. Just being detailed. Juicy beef, crispy bread, semi-crispy thick cut bacon, and not-so-sour thick, juicy pickle LALALALOOOVE IT!!! Every thing combined just worked out to perfection! 4/5 stars. Braised Beef Short Rib $39+Beef short rib, red wine jus, butternut squash, and white polenta sauteed bloomsdale spinach, sorrel gremulata, vela dry jack. - Loved how the meat was super tender!!! Flavorful beefy taste and just melts in your mouth. Butternut squash sauce could use a gravy-like flavor to cut out a little bit of the fat from the beef and add more flavor over the white polenta. Would love to have more greens. Still DELICIOUS! 3/5. Caribbean Braised Pork Shank $38+Toasted basmati rice with mango and coconut, caribbean veloute, chayote mignonette.- Flavorful! Star of the show was the rice and the non-existent sauce. The pork shank was chewy and kinda dry. It should have been fall off the bone, juicy, and tender. The whole entire entree should have been smothered with that yummy sauce. It was alright! Would order again if they make adjustments. //DESSERTS:They had 2 desserts to choose from. I forgot to take a picture of the menu, so I wasn't sure if it was on there. Asked our waiter and he said 1) Brownie with caramel glaze and vanilla ice cream. 2) Pumpkin with some sort of custard. Birthday boy picked the brownie with ice cream and OH BOYYY!!! Delicious! Brownie has melted filling and outer crispy shell and the ice cream on top with a caramel glaze was soooooooo gooooooood!It was a PHENOMENAL experience!Would love to come back for drinks (when not preggo) and just endless orders of scallops and oyster shooters. "This is true speak easy type of a cocktail establishment! There's no sign outside whatsoever. The only thing that gave away was the not so easy speaking voices from inside through a window. You got to knock on the door and tell a password which is available from their Instagram account. Absolutely cool! The cocktails were amazing. We had 4 different kinds and all of these were great. Tasty, balanced and with a kick! Pure joy. The service was prompt and polite. They are professionals that know what they are doing. The ambience is fully speak easy like. Notice that there are not many seats available, the place is small. Wear comfortable shoes to stand. Nobody was drunk, mostly couples having cocktails after dinner, so not a dive bar. Most people were dressed nicely. Just adults having a good time and minding their own conversations. I didn't notice any food at all. Didn't ask either. It seemed nobody was there for any snack."

That's what you get on a weekend summer afternoon with all the travelers on the road. So, it's up the hill of the parking lot to Max's located inside the Holiday Inn. This is gonna cost way more, but Max's has always been one of my fave places to stop for food, just not a cheap or fast stop.There's a good amount of cars parked up here too, but we get seated without a wait. Service is fast and we have water right away. I know what I want, cause Max's has always had probably the best Patty Melt I've had in my life. Cooked med rare and served with fries! My friend gets a Cobb Salad.The wait isn't long before our food arrived. My patty Melt looked great, cooked as ordered with lots of melty cheese flowing over the grilled onions and big 1/2 pound patty. My friend's Cobb Salad looked expertly arranged and tasty.OK, this Patty Melt is gonna cost me 3 times what eating at In N Out would have, but OMG, is it worth it! Plus, no waiting in long burger lines! The first bite was one of the best things to eat in my life, I remember how this tasted years ago. I think my friend is gonna have to do the driving after lunch .... I'm in food heaven! I have to remember to come here to Max's Cafe more often when I'm passing through to and from Tahoe."

One of my favorite happy hour items is the Philly Cheesesteak Rolls which they just got added to their normal menu . They are delicious.So I picked this place for my b day dinner on 12/21/24 they went above and beyond with customer service . They added my name to the menu it said "Happy Birthday Aly" it was such a cute touch. My people surprised me with a special drink added to the menu just for us that said Aly's Drink it was the cutest thing . It was made with my favorite drink of choice the bartender created it . The attention to detail that happened on this day wow ! I had the best time ever celebrating my b day with friends and family . The owner would check up on us to make sure everything was going good he is so amazing. Just like our waiter Janessa she was so attentive and friendly . The food was amazing like always . They let us bring our own cake they even cut it for me and my guest and served it to us .Overall this is an amazing establishment. I highly recommend Rose Park for daily visits or a big celebration. We loved that it was in walking distance and it had a nice patio for outdoor seating to enjoy the weather! I really enjoyed the tacos because I thought they were really authentic. The Vampiro taco was Al pastor with bits of pineapple, which I found refreshing to balance out the flavor. The carne asada taco was good but I think it needed something else on it like guacamole or salsa. I really liked the chips and salsa appetizer that we got because the salsa trio was well thought out: fried jalapeño, chili verde, and red salsa. All of them were homemade, which homemade, which is why I enjoyed them so much! Overall, we will be coming back over the summer!"

We split the Cream Brûlée and the flourless Chocolate Cake. They were both magnificent. The Brûlée was creamy with a fresh raspberry compote on top of the sugar shell. My friend had never had Cream Brûlée, needless to say, I got 2.5 bites of it. The flourless chocolate cake was just as divine as the Brûlée. It was dense, rich, and just the right amount of sweetness. It was served with a healthy scoop of fresh whipped cream. Both of these desserts were decadent and masterfully delicious. I will be back to try dinner! Sorry I forgot to take pictures of the desserts. I did however, take a pic of their 1942 tequila This restaurant would be a perfect date night place, the ambiance was bougie and elegant. It's located in the beautiful Lincoln Center so if you do have to wait there's plenty to do nearby. Once seated we were quickly attended to. Not pictures is the delicious Pork Shoulder Torta, we ate it before any picture could be taken. However, everything was delicious. The French toast was extra sweet and the coffee was strong. Definitely will be returning with the rest of our kids as they have plenty of seating indoor and outdoor to accommodate all family sizes."

"Ever since Waffle Square closed, we've been curious about its replacement and have watched with anticipation as Monarca came to life. It was clear that they were putting a lot of care into the site - repainting & redecorating, creating an outside seating area, etc. This gave us hope that we'd have a new restaurant to enjoy close to home. Well, we went this evening, and it was a very disappointing experience. They did a nice job of remodeling and cleaning up the interior. It feels much more spacious, the new booths are comfortable, and it has a generally nice feel to it. However, it was fairly cold, and very loud and echoey, so a mixed bag there. The real problems for us arose when it came to our order. I recognize that they've only just opened, but was clear that our server doesn't really know the menu. Beyond that, she also wasn't paying much attention to us. There was confusion and misunderstanding regarding multiple aspects of our order which led to orders that didn't match what we expected, questions from us, and defensiveness from our server. Beyond that, the food was ok, but not great, and the portions were small. The chips were good, and they did give us a refill on them, but that hardly offsets the overall experience of the meal. My partner's enchilada was the smallest I can recall seeing in a restaurant, basically about 3 bites worth. It came on a tiny plate with rice (my partner asked for double rice instead of beans, but they messed that up, too). The cost for this 'combination plate'? $13. There was also an error on the bill that took 10+ minutes and 2 people to get corrected, with no apology. So, even allowing for some difficulties due to the fact that they've just opened, this was a disappointing experience on multiple levels, and definitely not one worth the nearly $50 we spent. We probably won't be back, certainly not anytime soon."

"Love the Berkley Bar! Location, location, location! And that is conveniently inside Cafe Bernardo in the beautiful Pavillions Shopping Center. Both the Bar and Cafe are owned and operated by the Paragary family. If you do not want to walk thru the Cafe, you may enter from the outside of the Bar through the beautiful glass doors. The Bar itself is small and intimate. Love that detail! It has clean lines with soft lights, tv for those sport fans and modern, high top tables with comfortable chairs...my fav! A couple of booths too. Can you say, "upscale" feel all the way. What more do you need! There is also a separate outside patio for the bar patrons! It has a real nice vibe. Lovely in the spring and fall.Another plus is the full service feature always going on. It shares the same menu with the Cafe but provides a real person coming to your table taking your order and delivering your food. Unlike certain Cafe hours where you must walk in and self order at the front. Let's talk Happy Hour! May I just say it totally rocks! While the liquor part of the HH is not a huge discount, the Bar Bites portion of the menu is quite a money saver. And your choices are varied and delicious. I must have a photo of it somewhere on my check-ins. I personally love the seasonal pizza. It is $14 regular and half off during HH. Whoa Nelly!:) Nachos, burger sliders, and more. See...the other thing is many restaurants have stopped HH since Covid. Not the Berkley Bar! Customer service at any Paragary establishment is first rate. The same applies here. Loved Marissa and miss her But everyone there is fabulous. At last visit, Sue took care of us marvelously! She was camera shy or I would have her sweet face front and center!So what the heck are you waiting for? Time is a wasting. Which he did right after the chips and waters were sat down. He asked us if we had been in before, had any allergies or things he should know before we ordered. Once ordered, our drinks were quickly delivered and then before we could even order anything for food the GM brought over a complimentary appetizer (chicken tinga tostadas were yum!) since we had never been in before. Our server was knowledgeable on the menu when we asked questions. We ordered our food, and before we could even ask he kindly split our kiddos food into two for them to share since we only needed one kid's menu item. The food arrived quickly and everything was correct! Steak tacos, Fresa Salad and Steak Quesadilla were all very good. We loved every item we ordered and one kiddo even cleared his entree (beans and rice were a huge serving too!). The service was super fast and impeccable in accommodation. We were pleasantly surprised with how attentive everyone was, not just our server. Highly recommend, especially if you want a somewhere they will sing happy birthday to you!"

Gimme S'more $13Smirnoff Whipped Vodka, Chocolate, Cream, Flaming Marshmallow. Rating 5/5, this drink was so chocolatey and delicious! A little on the sweet side, which I prefer. "I've eaten here many times over the years, and the last few I've been disappointed. I love BBQ ribs, so we went here last Wednesday for my birthday. The ribs were tough and just not great. I had left overs and didn't even eat them because of how disappointed I was when they were fresh. Lol Our bill was so high and we barely ordered anything. Definitely will be going to a different BBQ place next time. The drinks are what makes this place appealing. Lol"

"Had a girls' night out. After a birthday dinner, we decided to have an impromptu nightcap at The Velvet Martini, as we've heard so much about it. This "speakeasy" lounge has a flight of stairs on the side of the Sheldon Inn (restaurant), leading to a very upscale lounge with a moody vibe. Though it wasn't a typical speakeasy with a secret entrance or have any special password etc to get in, the ambiance was charming. We arrived on a Friday night at 9:40pm, expecting a speakeasy lounge to be open later. They only had one small group of ladies wrapping up. Besides them, we had it to ourselves. The bartender and waiter confirmed they were closing at 10pm due to it being slow, despite the menu and website indicating an 11pm closing time. The bartender kindly allowed us to order a round of cocktails, and we enjoyed the lounge almost to ourselves.We each tried different cocktails: the Velvet Martini was strong, but might be a favorite for vodka lovers, unfortunately out of bubbles for the night for this drink; the Lovely Day was a bit bitter for my sister and So Fresh & So Clean was okay to my friend, but nothing memorable. I had the Boozey Affogato. It was a bit bitter after first, but after mixing the ice cream, it struck a perfect creamy balance. We stayed until about 11pm, enjoying our drinks while the staff cleaned up. With four cocktails and tip, we spent $100, a bit pricey but worth the experience. The lounge offers ample seating, from conversation chairs to booths. I'm definitely planning to return to experience the lounge earlier in the evening for food and live music. I would recommend it for a night out with friends or a date night. Or even booking it for a special event!"

"I've been to Drake's: The Barn a few times over the years and it is such a cool venue. I love the architecture of the building/awning and that it is so open and welcoming for families, groups and dogs.I've been in the day and at night and both are great options. They have a variety of drinks available, including their beer on tap. On my latest visit I opted for their amber first and then tried a nectarine cider that they had in cans. The line to grab drinks moved quickly and the drinks were nice and cold.During peak hours, especially after a baseball game or during some of their events the lines can get longer but you can plan ahead for that.We've brought our dog here every time I've visited and he loves it. There is enough space that you can walk around with your dog and avoid others, or have them meet each other if your pups are friendly. They also offer food, which is great for groups with shareables like pizza, wings, dips, and flat bread, as well as other options like burgers and other bar foods.Parking is mostly street parking and it's a lot of free two hour parking which is great.If you have a big group this is a great spot!"
