"We went to Midgely's Public House on December 23rd to celebrate our anniversary. The restaurant is located in Lincoln Village in Stockton and the entire area was beautifully decorated for Christmas. I booked a reservation through Open Table and check-in was simple and easy. The lady who checked us in also wished us a Happy Anniversary which was nice!The hostess took us to a table that wasn't clean, but we stood by waiting while she quickly bussed and cleaned it. This was a little strange since the restaurant was empty and there were plenty of booths and tables available. Our server, was great - very attentive and friendly. My husband and I ordered a dozen oysters which were superb, flavorful and good sized. I had a Bailey's coffee and my husband ordered a crisp Savignon Blanc. We shared a French Onion soup (perfection) and each ordered the house ribeye steaks which were nicely done. For dessert, we split a creme brulee which was delicious.We had a great time and will definitely be back. The Happy Hour menu and specials looked pretty good and we're excited to try it!"

"For dinner last night, we ordered the Chicken Fried Steak with eggs and breakfast potatoes (to-go). We ordered through the Yelp app, which took us to the Brookfield's website and were able to customize how we wanted our eggs (poached and over easy) and what toast we wanted (English muffin and white). We were disappointed it didn't allow us to customize and put the gravy on the side or add on extra (we were willing to pay). It was ready on 20 minutes and when we picked it up, the restaurant was not busy. I got to the front and requested the extra sides of gravy and when the young woman came back with a 3rd container, it was because the kitchen didn't put the poached eggs. So, if I hadn't asked for gravy, there would've not been eggs with one of the meals. Thankfully, that didn't happen. When we got home, just as we suspected, the CFS's were soggy. If we could have used the section to write in a customization, that is what we would've requested, but for some reason, the Brookfield's website has this feature turned off. One of our CFS's had a lot of gristle, the meat had no flavor. I think the breading would've tasted great if it was not soggy. Their country gravy has meat in it and that tasted pretty good! The poached eggs were overcooked, the over eat eggs still had slimy whites. The breakfast potatoes were pretty good and the toasted bread both came with their housemade strawberry jam (no seeds) which was soooo delicious! Next time, we will sit inside and give the CFS another try... so far, I know I am a huge fan of their fish & chips. Not sure about the CFS just yet"

I was finding that the quality of food, and the portions had diminished so much that with the increase in price it just was no longer a reasonable place to enjoy good food.And then this happened... We were over in the Arden area, specifically at Loeman's plaza, and decided to stop in to Jack's. I was rather hesitant, but I jumped in and ran with it. I'm so glad that I did. This location made me love Jack's all over again.Are the prices still high? Of course. But the food quality, taste, and overall yummy is still there. The portions could be better, I think we're all looking for what we used to enjoy versus what we are currently enjoying. We ordered the steak salad and the spicy buffalo sandwich, and their original intent was to share. I ordered the urban fries instead of the regular fries with the spicy buffalo sandwich. I'm used to the fries definitely having more urban goodness poured over them, and this was definitely lacking, as was the portion size.The spicy chicken sandwich was really good. It was perfectly covered in buffalo sauce, cooked perfectly, and was really good. I wasn't a fan of the bun and it makes me question if they've changed vendors. The bun just seemed to be off. The steak salad was really tasty. With a variety of green goodness from kale, avocado, and so much more goodness, tossed into the salad, and almost was like the steak was a sidenote. Just because it was tasty. The steak was cooked perfectly, could've used more seasoning, but it was good nonetheless. There's plenty of parking, and parking is free. Thank you Jack's, for restoring my faith in you. Now, if we could do something about the portion sizes and the cost factor, we would all be loving you on a more regular basis"

You drive inside the shopping center and they're located in the inside nearest West Capitol Avenue. And looking for a parking spot was a bit of a nightmare (especially during meal times). Good thing I had a handicapped pass which allowed me to park in the 15 minutes zones. The others in our group weren't that lucky.But the place was very nice and cozy for a sports bar. A bit dark, but the place was very clean. In the center was the bar and around it were dining tables (or cubicles that could probably fit 3 to 4 people - more if they were skinnier). The service was really good! We were greeted the moment we arrived and our drink orders were immediately taken. There was around twelve in our party, but that didn't hinder the speed of the service.The food was also great. Our boss ordered Deep Fried Oreos and everyone said it tasted really good - I had to abstain because of my doctor's orders to stay away from sweets. But my main order, a Mushroom Swiss Burger was really good! And the side of french fries was really commendable! Plus the price is reasonable for the quantity and quality of the food.If you are in the area, you should give Kick 'N Mule a try..."
