The last time I went in here, a bit over a year ago, the scarce amount of produce for sale was wilting and/or overly ripe. However, I live nearby and I've noticed the place being remodeled the past few months (possible new owner?)I decided to stop in today and was delighted with what I saw! Many name-branded fruits (like Chiquita bananas, Sunkist oranges) and vegetables, all of good quality - not to mention, cheap as heck. There's all kinds of fruits and veg here, some you probably wouldn't find in a regular grocery store. Pumellos, guava, tiny vine-grown grapes, harvest apples, baby yams, and more abound. You can also buy fresh honey, bee pollen, honeycomb, and what appears to be roti-like breads. I also noticed a small stand of Milka chocolate bars and other European sweets tucked away near the back of the store. The cashier was very nice and courteous, as well.

Dropped by on a whim looking for red Anaheim peppers and this place did not disappoint; I bought all of their 11 pounds, took them home, smoked and then canned them. They were super nice and have a good looking carniceria and also sell fresh tamales (which are delicious). I will be back!

Since I started to Juice my veg, C and A has become a weekly stop for me!It's worth taking a look. I'll warn you, if you have to have pretty fruits and veg, don't go here! You will probably be disappointed. It's not the pretty and expensive veg that you find at all the grocery stores. No, this is the seconds, but who cares! It's still full of vitamins and minerals!Like I said I go once a week and load up on all the veg that I'm going to need for the week. I usually spend between $14.00 to $20.00, and come home with loads of produce!Every time I go in they are stocking the bins with more product. The staff is pleasant. I never have had to ask for any help, it's pretty much serve yourself.Take a trip out to Citrus Heights and see for yourself.VIVA VEG!

You get better produce at Walmart. Yes,this place is cheap, but quality is poor. Nice staff though.

We live right down the street and get our produce from here when we can't make it out to Denio's. The selection is great, the prices are almost the best that I've seen anywhere, it is clean inside and out and the staff are very friendly. I hope this place stays in business for a long time.My only reason for not giving them 5 stars is a lack of fresh cut herbs for sale. If they had those I would never have to buy produce anywhere else.

I have never seen more rotted fruit and veggies in my life. The tomatoes had evident mold and it was a pain to find avocados. Overpriced for what it is. Only small plus was the little restaurant inside and the wall of imported items.

They have such good deals here if you get only the things that are good deals! For example $4 for a pineapple is not good. The produce is usually ready to eat when you get it and you need to eat it soon, or it will go bad. Great buys and tasty food!I love going here!5-25-15: Today I got 8 apricots a bunch of sweet potatoes and two orange bell peppers for $2.17 (crazy!)

I go here every two weeks to stock up on produce, bread, and mysterious European sweets. The store: Pretty clean, well organized, extremely full, and everything is clearly labeled with prices. The staff: Very kind, knowledgeable about which items are on sale/cheapest/bestThe picks: Keep an open mind. They buy everything in wholesale lots so not everything is pretty. The quality, however, is unrivaled. The tomatoes, apples, and peppers are the highlights. The price: Ridiculous. Four full bags of produce for $12 - $15. Discounts for repeat customers. Free shit if they like you enough. Free barbecue for customers on Saturdays. The bakery/deli side: Amazing! Most everything is imported European awesomeness. Almost all of the products are labeled in not-English, which makes it interesting. Deli meat is EXCELLENT. Huge selection of Russian (I think?) chocolates. Cheap and awesome if you like to try new things. Most of the European goodies are all-natural ingredients (food that's made out of food), which is refreshing. It's my favorite place to shop because even though money is tight, I don't have to count how much I'm spending there. I can get shit like almonds or pomegranates if I want because it's cheap enough.

Great find in Citrus Heights. Being on a budget, C&A is a godsend. The produce is not perfect, but the prices are very reasonable.

I'm glad they have a place in Citrus Heights where I can get fresh fruits instead of going to the big grocery stores.
