Butterfly Garden Preschool & Childcare

Update: As I've mentioned in my original post--my son has attended this program for 5 years! Five years! He started there when he was 5 months old. My son is in kindergarten now and he's always thinking about his time at Butterfly Garden. We still visit Ms. Hally and staff when we get the opportunity. There is a reason we stayed here. Our son thrived in this environment. The program is based on "Learn Through Play". He's learned so much while he was there. Not only did he learn the alphabet, numbers, counting--he also learned how to be kind, follow instructions and teamwork. This program has been around for over 25 years. They've received numerous awards and recognitions within the community. The program has become a model for other childcare facilities in the area. I know this because I've done the research before we signed the contract. There's one negative review here from PREETI R. The content of the review leaves some things out. My son went back to Butterfly Garden while he was off track from Kindergarten. I'm sad to say that PREETI R's little boy in fact hit my son on the head with a toy. My son would not make up a story of a little boy hitting him on the head. This is a nurturing environment that helped care for my son the first five years of his life. The rates we paid were reasonable and comparable to other childcare programs in the area--$40/day. I always recommend this program to family, friends and even strangers. It is one of the best things we've done for our son.

Tonight as I tucked my son in he said "I can't wait to see Miss Hally tomorrow. Were going to have so much fun!" This is one of the many examples that makes my heart sing. My son looks forward to going to school each day and that says so much!! It is such a great piece if mind knowing my son is in amazing hands. We were so blessed to find Hally, Galina and Olga they have helped my son with his development through play, art, letter, numbers, social emotional and so much more. As a Middle School teacher myself this is very important to my husband and myself. I highly recommend Butterfly Garden to anyone for their precious babies.

We LOVE Hally (the owner) and her staff so much. They have blessed our girls and family in many ways. From the minute you walk into this home you can see the attention to detail, the love for the kiddos and how much passion the staff have for doing what they do. It goes without saying that the education my girls received here during their early years laid a great foundation for how well they are doing now. But beyond that they were loved and encouraged and poured into. They gained beautiful character and confidence because of their experience here. So glad my husband found this daycare. My child has had a wonderful experience here. She immediately had a sweet connection with Ms. Galina and have been buds ever since. She comes home having learned all kinds of new things and it just warms our hearts to watch. I would recommend this daycare to other parents in the area.

We just love the Butterfly Garden!! Hally is wonderful and warm. She clearly loves what she does. Each kid getting the individual attention from her and her helpers. My son never truly looked forward to daycare but now even on weekends he's up and ready to go to Ms. Hally's! She supports their creative adventures through arts and crafts. She encourages self discovery and growth and educates on day to day life. I know my son (who is 2) will be fully prepared for preschool. His vocabulary has truly grown in the two months he has been with her. As a parent I just love being comfortable enough to have a seat and sit to converse with Hally. I find that I look forward to our conversations. With my husband deployed I really rely on her support and counsel. Thanks for being so amazing Hally!!

Ms Hally & all the ladies at Butterfly Garden Preschool are such a blessing. My 3 year old son started here recently and I can not be more happy. My son has been talking more, is learning to regulate his emotions, express his feelings and I truly believe it's all from Ms Hally. She has such a caring heart you can tell from how she treats the parents, helpers, and the children. I recommend Ms Hally and Butterfly Garden Preschool to anyone I meet.

Ms. Hally, Ms Olga and Ms Galina are heaven sent and this has truly been the best day care experience we have ever had. And as a School Social Worker, I am very picky! :) Our 3yo has been in care with these amazing providers since the beginning of this school year and it has been such a blessing. We moved to Elk Grove from out of the area and had so much anxiety on finding a provider we trusted. We scored with Butterfly Garden! Ms Hally has an amazing program set up for the kids which includes delicious and nutritious home-made food, learning activities indoor and outdoors, beautiful, clean environment and above all, loving and caring atmosphere that allows our children to feel safe, have fun and be themselves. Our child LOVES "going to school". She has sweet friends and talks about kids and staff all the time at home. Ms. Hally truly goes above and beyond to take care of our kids and treats them as if they were her own. She actually spoils them, celebrating all holidays, birthdays and special occasions with fun projects for the kids, and for the parents! I have gotten so many cute hand made projects that I don't have time to do myself! Finding Butterfly Garden allowed for us to go to work without any worry, knowing our daughter was not only safe and well cared for, but also having a great time! I highly recommend Butterfly Garden. I reviewed this place a while back after the narcissist that runs it, kicked my daughter out abruptly and without notice over a fairly basic misunderstanding regarding the autopay I had set up for her. Despite my best efforts to work this out like adults she was dismissive and impossible to get ahold of. When we could talk to her, she would play the victim and tell us how something we did was giving someone heart problems. We ended up trying to contact her via certified mail, but she refused to sign for it. She must have thought she was being served court papers, but we were just trying settle the whole thing. I highly recommend going with anyone else.She begged me to take down my previous review, and I did. After my sister mentioned the place for her own kids, I checked the reviews, I noticed another person had a similar experience with her. I decided it was my duty to share the experience we had at this place and hopefully save another child or family from having to deal with her.

Our initial impression of this daycare was great. We felt comfortable with Hally and really liked her Curriculum and daily routine. We were getting ready to do some questionnaire screenings for Autism on our daughter; Haley had experience with Autistic kids and we thought this would be a good match. We warned her and the staff that our daughter is a pandemic baby and hasn't been socialized or around other children much. She's very attached to Mom and Dad. She didn't do well with drop offs. She cried every day (we were only there 5 days). One day she cried so much that after an hour she called my husband to pick her up saying " Your daughter is being disruptive and I can't get my day started". I was shocked honestly. I couldn't understand how she wasn't able to manage her especially since she states she has 32 years of experience in child care. When I called to ask what happened, she gave me an entirely different story. We decided to try one more day. (That Friday). She cried at drop off but when we picked her up everything seemed ok. Hally wasn't there but her assistant Shelly stated she did just fine. I then got an email the next day on Saturday from Hally stating that she didn't think daycare was the best option for my daughter, that some children aren't meant for daycare. When I asked what specific behaviors she was exhibiting that made her think this, she avoided the question even after asking a second time. She made it seem like my daughter was the problem. She said I should get a nanny and have them socialize her before putting her in daycare! This is a conversation that should have happened over phone or in person. (She did offer to try another week but my mommy intuition told me she didn't want to take care of her because she wasn't an easy kid and cried a lot. Why would I take my daughter back to a daycare when I had that feeling? In the email I did state that my husbands anxiety at drop off probably played into her crying so much. But We took her to another daycare about a week after that and she's doing amazing! She doesn't even cry anymore at drop off and loves going. I did terminate the services because I felt like she just didn't care about her. The point of this review is to tell my story and show that just because one person gives you a recommendation doesn't mean it's correct; Regardless of their experience. I would not send any of my friends kids to this daycare. For the reasons of unprofessionalism, poor communication and her blaming my daughter as being the problem. She even talked badly about a family to both my husband and I which is completely unprofessional. I did write back and email that I agreed with her because I was afraid if I didn't I wouldn't get refunded the deposit or week that she didn't go. I was so upset with her email I just couldn't express how I really felt with her BS assessment in fear of her reaction. Good Luck in your search.

Hally, Galina and Olga are amazing. My 4 year old has been attending here since she was 14 months old and my 2 year old has been going here since she was 1. Hally has been running her daycare for over 27 years and the experience really puts you at ease. I love that she provides a fun play based learning program that entails art, reading, gardening and outside play.
