Everything was awesome! I had an early bird special, the coconut shrimp. WOW! Tasty, succulent, and delicious. Salad was very nice, the veggies a little overcooked, baked potato was perfect, but the shrimp! Loved it!A special shoutout to the server, Sarah. Very attentive and professional, and truly a pleasure.Oh, the bread pudding. I scraped that plate clean. Haven't had bread pudding for a long time, this was wonderful. I waddled on, I'm sure. I will be back!

This is probably the Michelin dining in this small town. The restaurant is inside a hotel with a classy lobby. So the restaurant itself is also well decorated. It has an old well in the dining room and they decorated it with a framed glass box so people and see the well. The restroom is also comfortable and clean and neatly maintained. The menu has a variety of dishes including appetizers, salads, sandwiches and entrees. Service is nice and on par. We tried a chicken Cesar salad which is nice as the chicken were warmly grilled and tasted juicy and well made. The turkey club sandwich and spaghetti with meatballs come with a soup or salad and the clam chowder soup was loaded with clams, which is very generous as a side. Although the place isn't particularly cheap, the lunch for 3 of us came to be less than 50 before tip and it was a very comfortable experience.

If you're in Ione, this is probably your best bet, and there's the Very Victorian Hotel Lobby for aesthetic appeal. The menu is split between bar food of the "blue cheese and jalapeno burger" type and main dishes aimed at your grandparents. It's a good guess that it's all a matter of Major Sysco shipments and hope.Sometimes the hope pays off. The matchstick fries served with my burger were perfect and delicious. They also had enough salt one-third of the large serving should have me attracting deer who want to lick me. My burger was... okay. It was well-done (they don't ask) with a nice char but underdone bacon. The burger came with toppings not mentioned on the menu, so this is a restaurant where, if you have food allergies, ask lots of questions! Don't assume you're being told everything. My salad was a very 1970s kind of salad, but not sad, and the croutons were the best croutons I've ever had. Iced tea might be Country Time mix? Soup looked a lot like Progresso. Vegetables are exactly the broccoli mix you expect at "family restaurants." Service was nervously indifferent, possibly because the kitchen was slow. Restaurant does have "cleaner" scent that overpower the food scents. If I lived here, I'd probably see about eating on the funkier bar side, and I'd develop a couple steady favorites -- it has potential for that kind of approach to work.

Small local restaurant located inside the Ione hotel. The wedge salad was awesome. Half a head of iceberg lettuce, choice of dressing. Would definately order again. My dining companions both ordered the dinner special. They said they enjoyed it and the beef tips were tender but it looked like diner food to me. The restaurant vibe is diner food. The waitress continued to forget the items we asked for but she was friendly. Our ticket was written up with a $2 overcharge on the salad which asked to fix it, they promptly did. In my mind, that kind of mistake should not be made.Would I go back? Maybe just for the salad. And I would definately check the bill.

The food is excellent and VERY reasonably priced. The service is great in both in the bar and restaurant. The bar is a must see if you like the classic old saloon type bars reminiscent of the old wild west. The owner makes his own barrel aged bourbons so fantastic Manhattans and old fashions to boot!

If you like to visit places that are like a blast from the past this place is for you. Our server was super sweet very nervous.... Food wasn't what we expected but it wasn't bad. Not a lot of flavor but they used salt heavily.

This place was great. Reasonable prices, great service and food. My husband ordered the ribeye steak with mashed potatoes and the portion was huge. It's in a cute historical hotel. Our meal came included garlic bread to share and our entrees each included soup or salad as well as vegetables and a side, which you don't get too often at restaurants.

For an appetizer we enjoyed the coconut shrimp ; side salad with their flavorful ranch dressing; the entrée was delicious grilled salmon with baked potato and vegetables! The ambience was great as usual, and was heightened by the wonderful piano player who played as many requests as he was given! He was frequently accompanied by an awesome singer!!

The Burke Family Restaurant is the definition of a hidden gem. Located in the heart of Downtown Ione, this quaint family owned restaurant marches to its own beat while also offering some of its own homemade whiskey and barrel aged ales. Just to start. The menu is comprised of a generously portioned American style cuisine. The service was welcoming and prompt. The special of the night was prime rib which we added a clam chowder to. Both were incredible, honestly top notch well prepared and even better priced. Take a drive 30-mins south of El Dorado Hills and enjoy this wonderful staple of try Ione community, or just stop by for a drink and enjoy live piano in the bar. Definitely worth it!
