I've heard pluses and minuses about this restaurant yet have wanted to try it for myself for some time now.The atmosphere is a kitschy romantic Italian trattoria type place, eclectic, a bit dark and cavern-like, and definitely Old World. There are two main sections, one with a bar and a very few outdoor seats, and I understand a private dining room off a hallway in the back. They have a creative bar menu with some interesting choices, but I opted for a simple Chianti. The pout was generous, the wine was quite good, and the price was very fair.We came specifically for the lasagna, which we heard was exceptional and only available on Wednesday, yet we soon learned to our loss that it was already completely gone at 6:30.We were brought a lovely bread board with a delicious loaf, freshly made, with top notch butter.I decided to star5 with a cup of minestrone soup and for the entree the Veal Marsala. The minestrone was a disappointment, not fresh and virtually tasteless. It must have sat around for quite a while in a pot or stored as the pasta noodles were quite limp and just fell apart. It didn't have the zing of fresh vegetables and beans one would expect.Unfortunately, the Veal Marsala also missed the mark. A sizeable portion, the sauce and mushrooms were quite good, but the veal was grizzly and not very tender. The accompanying vegetables were fine, but the risotto was mush, if that was what it was.Overall, the meal was just OK. We ended with a Creme Brulee, which was exceptional. A large portion wirh a wonderful creamy custard. It was very delicious. The wait staff were very kind, friendly, and efficient yet seemed rushed and harried. They did have a big crowd with seemingly two parties, so I will overlook that our water was not refilled, and we were never asked if we wanted more drinks. They should be aware, however, from reservation how busy they would he.I will not rule out going back and trying it again, hopefully for the lasagna.

Had the pasta with meatballs, four loafs of bread yummmm, the seafood pasta, gnocchi, chicken piccata and the consensus of each meal was outstanding! Sister in law says the piccata is the best in the area, and she's very particular about this dish! The meatballs were delicious and I would highly recommend this dish especially if you come in with an appetite! Now the bill is another story.. rather pricey for a dish of pasta, but to go along with the ambience of the restaurant I guess they have to charge these prices... 45-50$ per person seems rather spendy again for pasta... we I'll return everyone is very satisfied when we leave... ohhh we usually don't have our usual glass of wine or beer, anise that definitely makes the price point rise!

It was just ok. Really caters to the ethnicity of the area and not the ethnicity of the culture. The food was bland. Italian/Sicilian cuisine should be flavorful and full of love. I was really disappointed. A message to the chef... Don't be afraid to add garlic!!!The service was meh, had to keep asking for more water and the water was the tastiest thing on the menu.

Buonarratti's was suggested by the owner of the Airbnb JR's bunkhouse in Lincoln, CA. We were also there last weekend w/some friends from out of town. We totally love this place & when we were visiting in March we actually went two days in a row that's how much we enjoyed the service & the food was absolutely delicious. Service on both days were very good &Chef Daniel talked to every single table in the restaurant when we were there. My girls loved Chef Daniel & the servers were truly attentive . I honestly can't remember all the servers names but they were very knowledgeable w/ suggestions . I believe the server assistant was Carmen lovely Lady was also very attentive to our needs & had the most beautiful smile . Thais place has romantic vibe & open kitchen that is visible from dining room but not intrusive to the guests on the restaurant. When you first enter you can smell all the aromas & it's so delightful! My granddaughter had ordered a crème brûlée & Chef brought her another one b/c the first one didn't meet his standard a bit runny but it was still delicious. Our friends from out of town loved the restaurant so probably our new go to when were visiting. I wish I could remember all the dishes & wine & servers but I will tell you it was an outstanding dining experience! Keep doing what y'all are doing & we will be back !

Service was very slow: 1 hour wait to get 2 pasta dishes: a penne with meatballs and a shrimp scampi. Our highlight was getting a clean water glass - lol. The cook is not familiar with how to cook with wine and reduce it properly leaving the dishes watery. Sourdough bread and butter was good, and Cesar salad was ok. Tea we ordered was lukewarm with no hot water refills and the cup was chipped. When we were seated we heard other guests had not been brought thier food on time. Note to owner: service is below par standard, reduce the number of slow servers, and replace them with high quality servers. The servers are killing your restaurant - it's not the chefs fault as the dishes arrived hot after ordered albeit with some deficiencies in the sauce reduction and seasoning. I think you may have a front of house issue or some very lackadaisical servers.

I have been to this restaurant a number of times both as a twosome and part of a banquet. I would recommend it it is obviously Italian food. Since the pandemic Daniel, the owner has not been able to hire enough cooks to open for lunch. Service and the ambience is very good.
