My family and I just love ordering from Buckhorn. A few times, my family and I have dined in and found the place so very inviting, well-lit and nicely decorated. The staff were very attentive and patient as you look at the board deciding what to order. And of course, the food is just great! There is enough food in an order that you have to take some home to have on your next meal. And priced reasonably for the amount of food you get.For a few times, my family and I have also tried delivery. And all the time, we have opted for the Family Feast. And from the name alone, it's an apt description of the amount of food you get - a feast! And for the price, I think it is so affordable! I have a family of four, and we do have a big appetite. But ordering the Family Feast has us leaving food for the next meal! Or food to pack for an office lunch the next day.You have to try this place out. Don't just take my word for it. It's highly recommended...

today I went in because I thought I would grab some happy hour food and a beer-(hh $7) The total on the bill came to $58 -I ordered a pork sliders (hh $10) and a tri-tip slider ($10) and a bean ($8) TOTAL SHOULDER OF BEEN $35 with TAX- I DID NOT PAY ATTENTION BUT SHOULD I HAVE TO SINCE IT WAS 4:30pm? HAPPY HOUR PRICING WAS NOT CHARGED TO Me. overcharging must be a new policy so if you're coming in for happy hour I would suggest you take a look at your bill. The pork sliders were cold they couldn't be bothered with tearing the buns apart to make individual sandwiches instead they just threw some old meat across the three buns which accumulated to enough meat for two and the coleslaw was enough for one there was barely any coleslaw there was no salt barbecue sauce and the meat was old dried out and over salted!!! GROSS THE TRI-TIP THEY MADE INDIVIDUAL AND THERE WAS PLENTY OF MEAT ON EACH BUN I ORDERED MEDIUM AND IT CAME OUT MEDIUM RARE -The beans were very good . I generally like the sides here...,I was looking forward to the pulled pork because that's what I ordered for me anyway I did not discover how the sandwiches looked until I got home and I guess it's just disappointing it was not busy in the place so what I expect from the kitchen is that they put out a product that they would want to see put out in the restaurant ....something that they would want to eat versus some slop they throw together with some old meat that's over salted and dried out and think that that's gonna be great you're not gonna tell me that if you're a cook behind the counter you know what good meat looks like and what crap looks like and today you served me up some fucking crap. Good for you for not fucking caring is what I think because it will sway me from the next time I think about going to a barbecue place to head your way!

What a shame We ate at our first Buckhorn in Midtown Sacramento over a decade ago and since this location opened up, we've been coming here. While the salads have remained good today, I tried to eat the hot food and clearly only the chicken was edible. They started by bringing me a half chicken covered in enough sauce to drown a live chicken even though I requested none and served it with the coldest greasy fries I've ever seen. Even though I asked for mashed potatoes. My mom had snatched my corn muffin off the plate, not realizing it wasn't mine and when I got up to the counter, I realized it was missing. As they took the plate for me they put it back up underneath the hot plate and called for another muffin to be delivered when I said hey, you can't serve that to someone it's been at someone else's table When I realized it was falling on deaf ears. I asked for a manager to come by so I could relay the cold food and how convenient he showed up just as I was having my cold mashed potatoes replaced with additional cold mashed potatoes that were gummy enough to seal bricks to each other and build a proper prison for this crappy food. Veggies were also cold and undercooked, except for the zucchini. The GM needs to work in their kitchen for a few days to straighten this ship

We had not been in there in a while so Best Beloved and I went for dinner Saturday evening. I got the two meat plate, he got the salad with chicken. I asked for tater tots and Jake's yummy beans as my sides, ribs and tri tip as my meat choices, a corn bead muffin, and I had unsweetened tea to drink. It was extremely busy. When this place is packed, it is not handicapped friendly, but we got lucky. We had to squeeze in at a rather long table between two families. Best Beloved parked me in my wheelchair on the outside while he grabbed a chair and maneuvered it overhead to sit across the table from me. There is absolutely *no* room in this dining room when it is packed. We watched a line form, people waiting for tables while we were waiting for our food. Our food finally arrived and we started to eat. I managed to eat a little bit of the meat, all of my tots and cornbread muffin, before i felt "full". I asked for containers to take the food home. Staff was very helpful, this is why they get 1 star.Within 8 hours of eating the food, I started feeling crummy. Muscle aches, excessive sweating, severe nausea, bad headache, fatigue, vomiting, extreme thirst, all I wanted to do was sleep. My eyes even hurt.Needless to say, I doubt we will be returning.

Decided to redeem my $10 birthday reward and ordered the Big Beef Mushroom Swiss. It was okay but when you look at the picture they post on their app, it looks nothing like the burger I received. The real thing was disappointing to say the least. I guess when you see something that is visually appealing and have your heart set on it and then get let down, it leads to buyers remorse. French fries were included but because of the fact that their to go containers aren't ventilated the fries were limp and soggy. Unfortunately I have not returned there since and probably won't until I get my next birthday gift.

I ordered pickup. It's big inside and there are some tall tables for seating. The Tri tip was flavorful and a great texture. A little overcooked but still juicy. The au jus side was flavorful and necessary. The vegetables were a great texture and i loved the side roll which was flaky and warm. It came with butter. I ordered a side of fries. Shoestring are my favorite. I ate those with their bbq sauce which was tangy and sweet. I would eat here again and would love to try some of the other things on the menu.

First time was a charm! Ordered take out of a burger and some fries. Easy to order and wait was not long even with other people ordering to go. If you want to stay, there is a lot of indoor seating as well as a a few TVs if you have an event to watched. Good corner location which adds to the roominess of the restaurant. Excellent experience and will be back for more.

Stopped by saturday for lunch and had an enjoyable lunch. The restaurant is chill, dimly lit, not too loud. It is counter service which is great, I enjoy this business model. It makes going to lunch with a larger group easier. I had the 6oz Tri-tip buck and although it's pretty plain it was enjoyable. I wish I would have seen the bar with all the different types of sauces before I finished eating. haha. Service was fast, food was good and hot, place was clean. Will definitely be back.

The BBQ is stellar; if you're going for the meats, you're in the right place.Pros: Good-size menu with plenty of options. Fabulous tri-tip, cooked exactly how you like it. The best giant pretzel I've ever had: piping hot, crispy on the outside, tender on the inside with three delicious dipping sauces-beer cheese and two yummy mustards. Fresh Caesar salad with tasty dressing. Phenomenal colossal chocolate cake; it was truly colossal. Fun ambiance with 80's tunes. Food arrived quickly. Con's: The service was meh; not very pleasant. The side of vegetables on the tri-tip platter were sparse. The Tri-tip sandwich had too much bun. The whole restaurant was uncomfortably warm at around 80 degrees on a hot day (97 degrees). Appetizer pretzel arrived long after our entrees. Sure, we'll go back for the tri-tip.

Spent a few days in Sacramento this past month visiting Mark H's sister and we stopped for lunch here. All three of us thought it was really good.We all ordered the Bacon cheddar burger and first thing I'll mention is this thing is filling. It's a pretty big burger, very tasty and cooked to a juicy medium just as I ordered. I got mine with onion rings which were good as well (and of course I shoved some rings into my burger.)You order at the counter and they bring your order out to your table when it's ready. They also have a condiment bar for various bbq sauces, ketchup, etc. the inside was also large and open with a lot of seating. They have quite a few locations around NorCal so I wouldn't hesitate to eat at one of them when I'm traveling again.
