Brownie's Lounge

Alright so I hadn't been there in awhile, but Wow, it was nice night. Place looks great, nice decor and for a neighborhood spot on a weeknight it seemed pretty alive. Bartender was Rudy I think, fast and friendly the whole time we were there. Will be back soon.

I've been to Brownie's Lounge twice and all I can ask is it a whole entire vibe. The music is great. My friend and I showed up on NYE and there was a live DJ playing nothing but the hits baby! I shook a tail feather and had a great time. The bartender was great and very attentive. The only thing is I wish they offered food. Other than that it's always a great time. Happy New Year! SYOY :)

We were there on a Friday night around 12:30-1am when our regular bar closed early. It was 5 of us who just came to play pool and heard Brownies had a pool table. Upon walking in everything seemed fine and maybe only 4 other patrons at the bar. So we all go back to the pool table and begin to get ready to play. One of our friends that came with us asked a young lady with braids that was already at the bar if she wanted play doubles with us, she had agreed and said she was going to the bathroom 1st. We watch her go into the bathroom, one of 2 available to use. This is where things get absolutely disgusting. About 2 minutes later as the young, and obviously intoxicated woman is in the bathroom I notice the Security Guard, tall bald black man goes directly into the bathroom that this woman went into. I'm concerned and then tell the friends I came in with what I just saw. Approximately 10minutes pass as we continued to play pool and waiting for this woman to come out of the bathroom. After about 10min said security guard comes out of the bathroom with sweat all over his face, he's wiping with sweaty brow while trying to 'play it off' and make small talk with us. As he walks away the intoxicated young woman with braids stumbles out of the restroom, completely disheveled and disoriented looking completely out of it and sits down in a booth with her girlfriend who at this point has just noticed she was missing. They both end up leaving the bar aftervthis incident. I immediately go talk to a female bartender and alert her of the situation, to which she responds "they've known each other for years" and that "yes he's on the clock he shouldn't be doing that." My concern is that the woman was sexually assaulted in the bathroom by a man in a position of power, a security guard meant to protect the patrons of this bar. It's definitely a place that isn't run very well if a security guard is able to be in the bathroom for 10minutes with a highly intoxicated woman. I'm hoping that wasnt a sexual assault that I witness that night and I am certainly hoping the bartender reported it to the owner. Disgusting and unsafe place, and we all decided we will not be going back. Hopefully Owners and Management clean up their staff and fire the door man who finds having sex in the bathroom while on the clock okay to do. Dump. No thanks.

Good ol Brownies Lounge yet another local favorite on the grungy watering hole line up in south sac. This was another and quite possibly the last stop for me in our unofficial NY eve libation crawl. A fun and lively stop with a serious local vibe. Cheers

Nice neighborhood bar. Dark inside. Cash only at the time we went. Some outdoor seating.

The remodel is rough. There's quite a bit of painting and contractor work I could've easily done better, and I'm a scrub.The whiskey shot was a respectable pour. No beer on tap. Limited bottle selection. I wound up getting a can of pbr.The bass in here is so loud we are leaving. I'm a drummer in a punk band with almost no hearing.(And I love bass. But this is just silly.)Soooooo....

Hi sir.... this is me. The one you accused of writing a yelp against you. That wasn't me but this is me..... you lost 2 customers forever. And mind you we would spend stupid amounts of money in there!!! Anyway, the work in your bathrooms sucks. Don't pay the workers. That is all I was trying to tell you. I come from a construction background. That work sucks. LOVED your place. Well the place it used to be anyway. Best if luck in your future.I hear your restaurant sucks as well... but that is hear say and won't be giving it a try. Work on your customer service sir and you might be more successful. Best if luck.....

I'll give points to the place for being old school enough to have some pretty great drink prices ($4.50 for a bourbon and ginger ale and I'm pretty sure their well is Bulleit) and the new remodel is nice and open.I'm taking off a couple of stars because the goddamn jukebox is loud enough to vibrate my teeth and there are ten f!#$ing people in the room. I like loud music as much as the next guy but not in this kind of a room on a Sunday night. Would love to be able to hear my friend while he's talking but they turned up the bass and I think I've gone deaf over some third generation generic Evanescence band on the jukebox and that doesn't really seem worth it.

Hostile environment two out of three times I have visited. Folks have attitude and unwelcoming of strangers.

If I could leave zero stars I would. My friend and I came here after work for some drinks and went to the bathroom before we got the party started. The bartender was in the bathroom when we were waiting in line. When we finished we walked up to the bar to order our drinks and asked for a dirty martini which she responded to "well that depends.. which one of you threw up in the bathroom?!" To which I responded " uhm nobody.. we both literally just got off work" .. thanks for ruining the mood. We left right after. Won't be back.
