Best thing about getting lost in my new neighborhood-was finding the Boxing Donkey!The food from the kitchen - beautiful-the fish & chips, smelled amazing! Cheers to the guys siting next to me! Service was genuinely the best I've had in ages - thanks! Cannot wait to go back - 2.2 miles away, is just a hope skip & a jump away.

I've had this on my list of places to try for a while now but never made it out until today. The wife and I couldn't think of what to eat and we're watching The Best Food Review Show on that bastard Sonny was doing a fish and chips special.That made me remember about this place's Fish and Chips as it has been suggested multiple times on local community forums.I was expecting a complete shit show coming in on a Friday night at 6:30, but it was mostly empty.We sat at the bar and we're promptly served.Service in general was pretty quick but upon ordering the fish and chips we were warned of a 45 minute wait as the fryer was backed up....Considering the bar was more than half empty that's a bit concerning as most everything on the menu is fried or has a fried component....I couldn't even imagine if the place was packed.Either way though, I don't think we waited the full 45 minutes before the food came out and I have to say, it's easily the best fish and chips I've had in a VERY long time.The fish was nice and crunchy, thick, flaky, and moist.I don't know if the tartar sauce is house made but that shit was amazing.The fries were also very good. Not your normal fry....fresh cut, not frozen, well seasoned, but not shitty like In-N-Out fries. My only small gripe is it is a bit pricey by a few bucks on most of the food items, but all in all a pleasant experience.

Wonderful food and service can't wait to go back when I pick up my friend at Amtrack Roseville train station. I love the Irish pub and such a clean place and very nice to me since I am crippled on a walker.

Service was great! Bartenders were nice and on point. We had the drink special with ginger beer. I forgot what it was called but we loved it! Food was decent, deep fried for sure. Definitely would be back for that ginger drink!

I had the opportunity to visit this establishment for the first time yesterday. I would have liked to give it a five star rating, although the bartender was not friendly. He spoke to people, including myself in a condescending way and did not seem to happy to be there. He would probably receive better tips if this weren't the case.The place itself is a cool place to visit. It has the bar area as you walk in and further back there is a dining area that is more quiet, if you'd prefer this. You must order at the bar, food and drinks, and the food is delivered to you. The food runner was very nice and he did come around a few times to clear off any plates or anything we no longer needed. We ordered a few different food items and all of the food was very good. The bartender did make good drinks but the attitude has got to go. He has been there for many years he said.......perhaps that is the problem?! I deal with the public also, it's not easy but I definitely am not rude nor condescending. I would consider going back and hopefully it would be a better bartender or a better attitude. If it were not for him, I would have given a five star rating.

Wow! What a discovery! If you're seeking an excellent off-the-beaten-path eatery, this is the place to go! The food, service, and ambiance are exceptional!

They have the best food here and are always friendly and welcoming. You gotta get the rueben fries.

Hands down the best fish and chips I've ever had! So glad I stopped by while in town for work!

Friendly enough service in this classic Irish pub. Solid beer selection, as expected. Fish & Chips, while not the best I've ever had, is certainly top-tier in the area. Fish is fresh and clean tasting and cooked correctly so as not to be too greasy or soggy. I would prefer a bit more salt and the potion was quite small. The fries are the real standout. Fresh cut shoestring fries that are seasoned to perfection. I would go back for those alone. The big negative was the tiny, sad house salad priced at $9. Definitely not worth it. All in all it's a cool spot, and I'll likely return for the fish & chips when the craving strikes.

Food is fantastic, fresh, and so tasty! Staff is wonderful and the bartenders are the best! Love this place!
