Bonsai Japanese Cuisine

We found this sushi place on Yelp as we were wanting to have lunch before heading to an appointment nearby. We were super pleased to have found it! The staff were super friendly and made great suggestions on their specialities. We started with the spicy garlic edamame which was very welled served with a spicy chili oil that was basically like a broth to help soak in the kick to the beans. Best spicy edamame I've ever had! My daughters each ordered different rolls and honestly I have forgotten some of the names. They loved what they had and they devoured their meals. I had also ordered the croquettes, which were made with Pablo, well fried and crispy, and the gyoza which was filled with a pork and vegetables and very tasty.The restaurant was about half full when we arrived and was getting busy after we left. The noise level was fine, not too loud and mostly conversation. Definitely worth another visit!

I came here to have lunch with my friend while I was visiting from out of town. It is a pretty casual setting that makes visiting easy because you are not rushed out. Overall was clean and comfortable. The food Presentation and Service were both on point. Flavor did not wow me enough to give 5 stars. They give you complimentary edamame which is always appreciated. I ordered tea which came in a regular type of coffee mug. A good portion, but too American for me LOL. I would've loved a tea pot with smaller cups or something more sizable than that but not what you'd get at a diner. I realize this is a small detail, but I typically focus on little details like this which come together to make an unforgettable experience I want to come back for. The combo tempura vegetable dish was delicious and we each ordered a roll which was more than enough food with some leftovers. I would recommend this for a solid meal and casual experience. But it wouldn't be my first choice, maybe 2nd though!

We went last night for my birthday dinner with my husband and our friend. Another amazing dinner. Very friendly servers and always on point. Making sure we have what we need. Orders of sushi rolls come out fast. Drinks are filled and refilled before we can even request more. We like the large sushi rolls. Feels like old school sushi places I remember from back in the day. Larger rolls, filled with good amounts of fish. These days most restaurants serve you a four or six small pieces in their rolls.I only took a few pictures this time. We were having fun talking and eating.

Oh no Yelp you let me down. 4.6 for size of portions alone. Friendly server. Decor needs a lot of work. The 49 Giants roll was bland. Not enough sauce and so full of tempura crunch in the middle, but it made it hard to get in your mouth. Well, I tried it, I don't need to come back.

Hands down one of the best sushi places in town. Family run which is also great! My son loves everything he gets here

What a find. My sis and I were in town for an appointment and after looked for a place to eat. We are so lucky to have found Bonsai. Nice inside with the sweetest people running the place. The food is amazing, with serving sizes very generous. I had chicken teriyaki and tempura prawns. Yummy! And so much I took some home. Sis got the tuna or something like that and raved about it.

Love that they have a lot of vegetarian options! We ordered the veggie dragon and king fu panda roll, both vegetarian! Both were pretty good. We also ordered the veggie curry which came with rice and a side salad. Our non-vegetarian friend ordered the four seasons and lion king roll, which he said was good. Everything was very aesthetically plated and portions were great.

Very tasty, fresh and healthy. The best sushi you can ever have. Costumers service is great: no waiting time , they are professional and fast . Nice ambiance, jazz music.

You should know that although it says open all day till 930. They do close for lunch.
