Love this shop .Am from out of town .But love to stop and stock up .Long lasting oils and soaps products are great A bit expensive but worth it .

We ventured in during date day of antiquing. I was looking at gem stone crystals and sage mists...... while my wife was practically getting high from one of the custom made soaps. I looked over and this beezy has this vanity soap up to her face just sniffing it. I'm like, "babe, you look weird right now... lol" her: "you gotta smell it, tho! It literally smells like the Beach".... and we bought it. Also bought sage mist for cleansing. Great little shop. Very friendly, smelled lovely, beautiful CD playing in the back store. Worth a visit if you're walking by.

I bought so many early Christmas gifts here! They have a huge selection of lovely soaps and a ton of fun trinkets to buy. I got some nice earrings and a jewelry tray! Everything is affordable priced and when I move up here I will be going to this shop for all my bath needs. Definitely recommend!!

Love this shop! I always drop by when I'm in Placerville. The best part of this store is the back area. It has been converted to a little garden oasis complete with misters, bird music (bird calls and music), fountains and handmade ceramic pieces. The front part of the shop has bath beads, bath bombs, lipbalms, soaps, anything related to the body. I loved the babushka tweezers, only $2.50! Great spot to find gifts or just to relax.

I've been coming to body basics for many years. I love being able to custom scent all sorts of products from body wash, body spray, various types of lotion and even shaving gel (I saw the shaving gel but hadn't seen it before). This is such a wonderful place to buy gifts and also prepare for a little me time. You can't beat the eucalyptus scent for body wash and lotion for colds or for friends who have allergies, really it works great. I buy it for my mom and she also says her sinuses are so much clearer after using it in the shower, she even sounds better! One can even mix various scented oils to make super customized scents. They are more than happy to adjust the product to your liking by adding more oil of your choice then having you smell it and make changes as you like.The back room of this store is my favorite. Today when we went it happened to be freezing out so we didn't spend too much time out there. On a nice day, it's paradise. There is a bird song CD playing at all times (of course we bought it years ago). They have lawn ornaments such as small gnomes, wind chimes, locally made pottery and small one of a kind decorative dishes that can be used for candles or knickknacks. Great store, great customer service, a must see in old town Placerville.

LOVE! Body Basics has been a Main Street staple for me for many years. Always peaceful and relaxing, with the smells and sounds - just a calm atmosphere with a great staff that is always super friendly, knowledgeable and helpful! Have purchased several custom scented items and have loved them all. Also a great place to find "just the right" gift for all ages, sexes and personalities. I ALWAYS visit the backyard oasis, with the nature sounds, water feature and pottery items. My favorite coffee mugs in the whole world are back there.

I have a favorite cologne that is no longer being made- I mentioned this to Amy, the store owner, and within a week or so, she had an essential oil sample (a generous one) that was mixed to smell like my cologne. It was close, not exact, but it smells so great, and I receive a lot of compliments! I ordered a larger bottle, and now I smell great all the time!! That's GREAT customer service! Thank you !

Not your run-of-the-mill soap and lotion shop. They sell lots of other goodies, particularly great for gifts: jewelry, gift cards, incense, and decorative matches. Be sure to go out the back door and enter their little water garden, complete with a tiny koi pond. That's where you'll find lovely handmade ceramic bowls, bugs, plates, an pitchers, along with garden decorations. Worth strolling through this shop just to experience the water garden.

I was shopping with my Mum on a weekday and I was looking for a gift a friend who is expecting. I popped in, not expecting much in the way of products. Boy howdy, they've got a lot of different stuff! I was looking for some very specific things and the gal at the counter was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable. They have an in-house line of stuff that can be blended to your liking, and the whole line is very reasonably priced. They've also got the high-end lines, but the shop is very friendly and inviting. I ended up walking out with gifts for my friend, some other friends, and myself (of course). The gal at the counter even gave some samples, and I smelled awesome by the time I walked out of there.I am seriously contemplating a trip up there just so I poke around and get some more things for myself. I wish they were closer to me, but thank God they ship.

This place is fantastic! The only place I get soap now. The custom scent options for body wash, oil, and shaving gel are amazing. If you haven't gone yet, go! There is something for everyone there.
