UPDATE: I've been going to Bodega regularly since my first review, and they've gotten better and better. The menu changes regularly with new items (right now there are several new vegan dishes being offered), and they are constantly doing fun events. We had a delicious, traditional roasted pig meal for their 2 year anniversary, and right now I'm here for a "make your own" old fashioned event! Their cocktail game has been elevated so high since my first time, with some drinks that have rivaled the best bars i've been to. The vibes are awesome, the food is great, and the cocktails are on point! I hope this place is able to finally break the curse of this location!Incredible food, mixed drinks, and service. I've never had a C sandwich in this style, and it rocked my world. The "Gina Colada" tasted nothing like a pina colada... and also rocked my world. The dude at the register was super patient with my parents and their weird order preferences, and everyone who worked just seemed chill as hell. It's rare to get a place like this in south sac, and Im happy it still has the "hang out" atmosphere the bar it replaced had. Highly recommended.

It was late in the day, hubs and I were on the verge of HANGRY! Went to our places to eat in Sac list and headed to Bodega. So glad we did. Ms. Lo was our server and she was AMAZING. Her drink recommendation was great. The Hunny Pot came in the cutest bear container and was garnished with sage and a flat honey comb. The drink was strong but not super sweet. We ordered the Shrimp Ceviche with the house made taro chips. OH.MY.GOD! Those taro chips became my mouth's best friend. The ceviche had a fresh taste to it like the shrimp were fresh farmed this morning. Hubs had the Bodega Burger (medium) with Maduros (sweet plantains.) Lo helped us understand the difference between making the patty medium vs. medium well. That slight change made all the difference. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal while the Afro-Latina beats played in the background. There wasn't a lot a of noise, we had a pleasant conversation without having to scream across the table. There are a few other me unites we can't wait to try. We'll be back soon!

This is a friendly neighborhood restaurant that caters well to those that want a good cocktail menu and small plates. The entrees for dinner on the evening i was there (Thursday) were only 5 + a Thursday night turkey sandwich. I ordered the Cubano sandwich which was nicely toasted and filled with a variety of proteins. My sandwich was very good. I also had a glass of the French red wine which was good and sensibly priced. My friend ordered the double burger "smash burger" and she ate every bite which lead me to believe she loved it. I'll be back.

First visit and I've been wanting to come here for a while so I'll keep it short and sweet. The service was extremely friendly and attentive. The food was mid. The beans and rice had no flavor, the plantain was mushy and not fried enough, and the jerk wings were just grilled wings with no jerk seasoning or flavor. We ordered a grilled shrimp plate and it came with only one skewer of five shrimp. That cost $28 bucks. A mojito we had two. The ambiance was a Caribbean theme that was more cheesy than authentic. Lastly, the entire experience ran us $90 bucks for 3 cocktails, one appetizer, and one entree. Not going back to eat, but maybe drink.

Menu wasn't huge but what they had on the menu was extremely authentic tasting. Service was great - granted we got there when they first opened. We had a party of 12 so needed the best table! Kinda minimalist but again - authentic. Full bar and even has dessert options.

I ordered the Maduros, jerk wings, and empanadas. I had an old fashion for my beverage. The jerk wings were fantabulous, and the empanadas were off the chain. The plantains were a little dry.

So my bestie and I decided to meet up for some holiday cheer and happy hour. We chose Bodega Kitchen and Cocktail because my friend said it's decorated really cute for Christmas. Wow, that was an understatement! I mean, look at this place! There was so much holiday cheer, I absolutely loved it! I don't even think the pictures I took truly captured the festiveness in here. Even their menu was tailored for the holidays. The gentleman that helped us was so great, he was so friendly and provided excellent service. We ordered the happy hour Yuca Frita which are like plantain fries, but more on the savory side. It was accompanied by a mojo aioli and we also ordered an extra side of garlic dip. We also chose regular french fries as well. I did not expect to like the plantain fries, but I was pleasantly surprised. I really want to come back and try a dinner entrée as everything just sounded so amazing. So if you want to go somewhere with a fun festive holiday atmosphere, I highly recommend choosing Bodega Kitchen!

Came here for some happy hour and try out the menu. .Plantain sandwich- with cheese, mayo, and pulled pork and beef mix with 2 slices of plantain as the bun was really good. It was different and felt healthy with out the carbs. I love drenching this in the habenero sauce and pineapple spicy sauce too. .Jamaican jerk chicken wings - loved the char grilled wings cooked to perfection. It served on a sizzling platter with sprinkling the sauces to make it sizzle. .Tacos with pulled pork and nacho cheese was crispy thin and savory. .Overall the ambiance is casual inside. When you walk in grab the menu and sit at a table. The inside has lots of seating. The service was great. The food was comforting, different and is great for someone adventurous. I do see veggie and vegan options which I liked. Hope this review helps and thanks for reading. Have a yelptastic day!
