Blue Print is an ok place for state workers to get happy hour. There's nothing really bad about it, but it also does not stand out in any positive way either. The restaurant has ample room so it's rarely too crowded. The bathrooms are fine and the service is friendly and fairly attentive. My main issue is that there's nothing special here. The happy hour menu is limited to some drinks no one cares for. The food is unhealthy and uncreative. Even the decor is confused. There's some kind of blue theme going on but I am not sure what it is about. Jazz maybe? The thing is Blue Print can't really compete against some of the new restaurants and bars opening up around downtown. It's kins of stuck in Sacramento's past from a few decades ago when it was just state workers in town.

After an excellent day with my family doing a scavenger hunt thru the city, we decided to get something to eat. Blue Print was close so we decided to check them out. They weren't packed and when we went in, no one told us to be seated so we sat ourselves. After about 10 min of sitting and no one coming to serve us, we got up and left. On the way out, the bartender said how's everything going as if we just walked thru the door. I will not give my money to a business that refuse to give me service. I do not recommend this place.

If I was reviewing just the staff I'd give them 4 stars. Unfortunately the poor quality of the food overshadowed the service. The crab cakes were FROZEN; the steak was under cooked and I bit down on a piece of bone, while the lamb was over cooked and dry. Will not return.

This spot is very close to my job, co-workers and I always come to this little ol joint. The staff are amazing and the food is amazing! Their sweet potato fries, are sooooo good, and super cheap for a big box of them! The interior is nice too, modern feel to it, you feel like you can relax in there. It's clean and I've never had any issues here before.

I thought the place was decent. Not great, but decent. It's a little expensive and it's in need of updating...badly in need of updating. But the hamburgers I thought were really tasty. I read some of the reviews and my experience at the restaurant is better than some of the reviews. I will say this, the waitress took my plate when I wasn't quite ready. I hate it when they do that. It seems to be the norm, rather than the exception in restaurants.

Extremely slow service for a place that is not busy during lunch. I waited 40 minutes for food... I got a flatbread that was still doughy and extremely soggy from the tomatoes they topped on. I also ordered a side salad. Instead of providing it in a separate small plate, they lined the salad along the edge of the small board that the flatbread was brought on...I do not recommend eating here. Horrible service!

Our first time eating there was a total surprise. Best salmon dinner I have ever had. Not even along the coast has it been so fresh and delicious. And the strawberry Daquiri was yummy! Not too sweet and lots of rum. Being a patient at UC Davis and a Best Western Hotel frequenter means we will be back soon. Question is....stick with the Salmon or venture?? Well are headed back this week and will let you know.
