Blue Nami Sushi & Sake House

To many of you that have read my reviews already know that I love sushi. And considering this place is (kinda) in my neck of the woods, I just haven't been here enough. This is none other than "Blue Nami Sushi & Sake House". Located directly on Greenback Lane and Beech Ave in the heart of Orangevale, this place has been here as far back as I could remember dating back to the early-2000's. And just in case you don't know, they have a 2nd location in operation on Eureka Rd (in between N. Sunrise Ave/Rocky Ridge Dr). Going back to this location, I came here with my lady during the evening of Friday 1/24/2025 at around 6:45pm. Much to my surprise, the inside of this place doesn't look much different than when I was last here (which was around 2009-10). The layout has a very sleek, modern, and upscale look which has withstood the test of time. The use of dark wooden accents across the flowing dining area really showcases just how cozy of a spot this is with the dim and ambient lighting. When we arrived inside, there was no wait and we were seated immediately while being given iced waters and food/drink menus.I will say that the menu here offers a full ensemble of delectable goodies. Appetizers consist of tofu wraps, edamame beans, oysters, gyoza, tempura, and much more. As for the main entrees, they have an amazing selection of bento boxes, teriyaki, katsu, and noodles. And now onto the sushi itself as they have all types of sashimi, nigiri, and much more. Finally, their specialty rolls offer dozens of options and I guarantee they will have something to satisfy your taste buds. My lady and I split the order of "Spicy Garlic Edamame" and I've got to tell you that the portion they give you is huge! As for my roll of choice, I went with the "Mercedes" which consists of smoked salmon, crab mix, avocado, sea steak, scallops, basil, and drizzled with spicy mayo/unagi sauce. Our edamame came out quickly (less than 4 minutes) and this was a real winner. The garlic and spice was the absolute perfect combination. My roll is brought out just a couple minutes later and this tasted great as well. Not over the top amazing but nonetheless it was still delicious.All in all, "Blue Nami Sushi & Sake House" is definitely an above average sushi restaurant. It doesn't top the best in the Sacramento area (that would go to "Mikuni" and "Kru") but the vast selection, service, upscale ambiance, and decent prices made this worth checking out. With that said and done, I am giving this place four stars.

One of my fav sushi places, been going here since I was a kid and before it was a chain. The original place was small and only had like 4 tables. Now it's huge and busy all the time. My only complaint is the prices are a bit expensive compared to before but still well worth it for tasty quality sushi

Probably the best sushi in town! The quality and taste of the food here is outstanding, and folks who come with you that aren't into sushi have several " selections from their menu as well. So everyone can be happy and blessed with delicious food! Service is also outstanding! Great waitstaff!The ambience is pretty nice too, especially in the evening. Great place for a date!Try Blue Nami... you won't regret it!!

Customer Service:The service was generally good, though there is room for improvement. The younger servers seemed to be more attentive and efficient.Food: The food was good per usual. Each roll I ordered was on the discounted list but priced at $10.50 each.Drinks:Unfortunately, my soda arrived flat, and it took about 10 minutes for the server to return to the table. While she did offer to replace it, I opted for water instead.Atmosphere:The decor was very nice, with Halloween decorations adding a festive touch. Even without the seasonal decor, the everyday ambiance is appealing.Rewards Program:I also participated in the rewards program. For signing up, I received 200 points, which gave me $10 off. This meant I only paid $0.50 for one of my rolls. Without the rewards program, my total for four discounted rolls would have been $42.Additional Offerings:This location also offers Gunther's ice cream, which is a nice bonus. While I didn't try it this time, it's great to have that option available.

Yummy Sushi this place was a first for me and definitely not the last. Service was top notch and super quick. The food was plenty.. The rolls were fire yum yum.. The restaurant was clean. The price was fair to good.. So much food yum yum get you some .

Our waitress gets 5 stars. The food is not that good. The Poke dish with pineapple, apple, avocado and tuna was flavorless. They were out of apples, that was fine because why serve apples with raw ahi tuna? There was other food on the plate that was also not great, two overcooked shrimp, mushrooms in a really salty sauce. My friend got the stuffed mushrooms, I had one and they were good. I also got the red and white roll. Flavorless really. I ate it because I was hungry.

Ah, blue nami my old friend. I have been coming here (as well as the Roseville location) for 10 years now. It's my favorite sushi spot. I live in Sacramento now but I still make my way out to orangevale sometimes for Blue Nami. My current favorite roll is the AAA spicy, I LOVE the tempura jalapenos. My past favorites are The Girlfriend and the Honeydew. The service is always good and I love the decor. It's a beautiful space. Check it out if you haven't yet!

I'm so loyal to my jaguar roll! It's one of my favorite foods on the planet. It can only be found at Blue Nami! The sushi is fresh and delicious! The employees are attentive and knowledgeable, and it's like a little trip to Japan inside. I'm a fan!

Decor was cool the overall feel was comfortable and my initial reaction was positive. Service was quick and our waiter did an excellent job. Now for the food. My wife was really happy with her Teriyaki chicken and my granddaughter and I 3 excellent rolls. All in all I absolutely enjoyed the experience.
