Incredible bbq and super friendly folks. Brisket that melts with a deep, flavorful smoke. Sausage is excellent.

Best BBQ in Sacramento--and Possibly the Entire U.S.If you're a BBQ lover, this spot is an absolute must-visit! Hands down, the best BBQ in the Sacramento area--maybe even in the entire country. We tried the pork ribs, brisket, and both regular and spicy sausages, and every bite was pure perfection. The pork ribs literally fall off the bone, packed with bold, smoky flavor and seasoned to absolute perfection. The brisket? Unreal. So tender and juicy, you won't even need a knife--it practically melts in your mouth. And the sausages, made in-house, are bursting with flavor, whether you go for the regular or the spicy. The sides were just as impressive. The mac & cheese was unbelievably creamy, gooey, and rich--easily the best I've ever had. And don't even get me started on the cornbread--moist, buttery, and the perfect complement to the smoky meats.Beyond the food, the customer service is top-tier. From the moment you walk in, you're greeted with warm smiles and genuine hospitality. Special shoutout to the owner's kid running the register--doing an amazing job! And the owner himself? Incredibly friendly and hands-on, always checking in to make sure you're enjoying your meal and open to feedback. This place is a must-visit--if you haven't been yet, you are seriously missing out. 10/10, highly recommend!

Very friendly service and clean atmosphere. It's not a large place and most of the tables filled up while we were there. Food was delicious. Brisket and ribs were tender. Hot and Smokey and well seasoned. The meats tend to get one note after a while but the pickled onions cut that taste. Mac and cheese were delicious. Grits were yummy too but thin. The surprise was the beans. I'm not the biggest fan of beans but these beans had a little kick to it and it's more savory than sweet! I can't identify the spice, cumin, but whatever it was we'd order it again. I also enjoyed the hot bbq sauce. Some sauces that advertise as hot is more like sweet with a touch of kick but this was the nicest hot bbq sauce I've tasted. It did its job! We'll be back!

I have been a KCBS-certified BBQ judge for a number of years, and I have judged BBQ competitions in half a dozen states. I have had the pleasure of eating BBQ at the top BBQ restaurants in Dallas and Houston, as well as Little Miss BBQ in Phoenix and my go-to hometown spot, Smoque. I can tell you that without question, Belly Barbecue deserves to be at the top of any list of the best BBQ restaurants in the country. We were visiting Folsom to see family for the holidays, and thank goodness I had checked Yelp for possible new BBQ openings since our last trip. I could see the nearly solid 5-star reviews and pictures for Belly, and I correctly thought this was going to be something special. With our other commitments and Belly's few days of business each week, I was only able to be there once. I had assembled 7 family members at their home for a feast, and on Saturday, 12/21, I picked up an uncut 4.5 lb brisket, 2 slabs of ribs, mild and hot sausage, mac & cheese, baked beans, and cornbread. We also took home plenty of both the mild and spicy BBQ sauces. The brisket was nothing short of amazing. The melt-in-the-mouth tenderness, the smoke flavor, the char - all perfect. If you don't think you've ever had a chance to sample some of the best brisket in the country, now you can. The ribs were competition-worthy - not fall-off-the-bone, but tender, juicy, and flavorful with or without the delicious BBQ sauce produced by the owner/pitmaster Marcus. If Belly's BBQ sauce was bottled and available in grocery stores, it would be the only brand I would ever purchase. The sausage was popping with flavor and enjoyed by everyone in the family. We had the pleasure of speaking with Marcus during our visit. We also met his mother, a delightful lady who assured us she taught Marcus everything he knows about BBQ. Marcus' friend Ryan gave us a sneak peek at the huge smokers Marcus has going in the back. I heard a suggestion that Marcus is planning on expanding to Fridays, and I hope he does. Currently, he's only open on weekends from 11 am until he runs out of food to sell. We showed up on Saturday before 11, and a line had already begun. By the time we left with our order, the small restaurant was packed, and the line was long. This has been one of the easiest 5-star reviews I've ever written. Do yourself a favor and go soon.

Came here with my family for lunch today and they did not disappoint! Service was great. All of the staff were friendly and welcoming. They even let us try other items on the menu that we did not order. We ordered the $55 tray, which they load up with tons of meat. The BBQ was delicious and paired well with the sauces they offered. We had so much food that we took most of it to-go! The restaurant is smaller with limited seating so the place was packed when we went. We would definitely come back!

Belly Barbecue - A Must-Hit Spot for True BBQ Lovers! If you're on the hunt for a place where BBQ is done right, Belly Barbecue is the spot. Their menu? Packed with greatness. Every cut of meat landed perfectly--juicy, tender, and bursting with rich, smoky flavor that hits you in all the right places. Whether it's brisket, ribs, or sausage, you're in for a treat. And the sides? Let's just say you won't want to skip them. The cornbread was straight-up heavenly--warm, fluffy, with just the right amount of sweetness. You can tell they put real love into every dish they serve. But it's not just the food; the staff is top-notch too. They were all smiles, eager to help, and clearly knew their BBQ inside and out. The inside has a fresh, modern vibe, packed full of people enjoying the game on the big screen. Perfect for kicking back after church with family or friends. If you're looking for a place where barbecue reigns supreme, this is it. Five stars all day long!

Was super excited to check this spot out. Right now they're only open on the weekends and close once they sell out. Luckily there was no line when we went, as I've heard sometimes there will be a line wrapping around the building. Quick and friendly service! My friend and I shared the tray that can feed 2-3 people for $55. You get 1/2 lb brisket, 1/2 lb pork ribs, 1/4 turkey, your choice of 2 sides and choice of dessert. What a great deal and we had so much food still left over. Everything was so good, juicy & packed with flavor. My favorites had to be the pork ribs, Mac and cheese and Brunswick stew. Will definitely be back :)

This was good bbq. The restaurant could use a bit more detailing to make it feel less like a blank kitchen. There isn't any decor. But that's besides the point. The food was the main reason I went. First off - this is black pepper and salt dry rub. So if you're expecting sweetness. This isn't the place. It's a dry rub. They do have bbq sauce on the side. But I didn't try it. I eat it how the chef makes it. Pork ribs - tender. Juicy. Fatty. And delicious. Brisket - i didn't specify lean or fat. But it was delicious. Tender. Flavorful. Can easily pull apart using my hand. Corn bread - delicious. Not overly thick. Side of cheese grits - flavor wise. I enjoyed it. Could use more black pepper. Texture wise it's a bit chunky. I prefer my grits to be more creamy. All in all. It's a good place. Definitely recommend brisket. I'll be back eventually to see how they do with decor ambiance and all.

Opening weekend and the line was out the door at 11:30. It took about an hour to make it through, order, and get the food. We noticed the service at the counter start to pick up the pace while we were waiting, so I'm sure as additional staff get added, this process will become expedited. Every staff member we interacted with was super friendly, and they keep the space neat and clean. The most important part, though, is what comes out of the smoker, and the folks at Belly BBQ know *exactly* what they're doing. Their brisket is perfect, their ribs are excellent, and I'm stoked to try the turkey, sausage, and beef ribs.I especially appreciate the Pitmaster's approach and dedication to his craft. Texas x Georgia styles make for a very coherent menu that makes sense. Don't get me wrong, I appreciate a good unique fusion spot, but it's nice to have a place stick to the classics and execute them exceptionally well. I also always enjoy the craft of someone who collaborates with and gets input from classics, legends, and contemporary greats alike - and Belly takes making excellent barbecue seriously.
