I feel like I have reviewed this Bel Air before, but I have to trust the technology like SkyNet in a Terminator movie. So here goes. The store is always very clean and pleasing to the eye aesthetically. The e fruit is beautiful, fresh, and abundant. The produce is green and aromatic. The meats are packaged with care and picturesque. This location is the only one I have ever found with a wine bar! I saw they have tastings on Thursday evenings, which I assume is a local favorite. The staff was very young. It looked like mostly college kids working to make it, but they were supported by more seasoned staff. Despite their youthfulness, they were friendly or courteous, as well as moving quickly to get your items bagged up and ready to go. The only reason for no 5th star is that I was not wowed. To get that elusive star, I have to experience something so far above expectation I run to give a 5-star review. Nonetheless, this is a top-notch store if you happen to be all the way out in what seems like the edge of nowhere.

The last 6 times that I have shopped at this location; something frustrating has happened. I haven't posted before, but today... well, something should be said.1) Items do not ring up as advertised.2) Items scanned twice - drove back to the store for a refund.3) Rain Check items questioned for pricing; like I had fudged the Rain Check somehow & a supervisor was called to confirm this straight-forward transaction, but only after holding up the line and people staring at me like I was the issue.4) Laborious online digital coupon system vs Newspaper ads vs Online deals even when you already have the Member card that should automatically give you access to those 'deals'. 5) High prices not found in other BelAir markets in a different zip code6) Forced to use Self-CheckI do not like to use Self Check lines. Even when I have less than 10 items, that include "weighted items" and alcohol. I'd rather stand in line and possibly chat with a neighbor and I think that is my right to do so. I do not appreciate having my cart grabbed away from me and dragged off to a Self-Check lane, WITHOUT MY CONSENT by someone who appears to be a little disgruntled about having to do so; all the while asking about the cart's contents. Mind you, no one was behind me, so I wasn't holding anyone up. It's unfortunate that there was only one lane open at 11AM, but I didn't do the scheduling that day. The last time a Self-Check encounter was attempted, the young man said "come with me and I'll show you how to ring up your own groceries." I politely declined his kind offer & he went on to the next person. No harm - no foul. As mentioned above, I have had misadventures at this particular store, so now I feel that I must watch as things are being scanned. This does make for a pleasant shopping visit like it used to be.So, while listening with one ear being asked for a second time, how I wanted my cash back and listening to lengthy instructions on how to enter my member information on the screen only to discern that the convoluted instructions were moot as I was already scanning the card; I entered the incorrect PIN and had to redo the transaction.Already a little miffed about having my cart dragged off, being forced into the 'self check' and having to repeat my answers to her unwanted questions, while redoing my transaction, Cashier (Operator 840) stood back, straightened her shoulders, glared, raised her voice and said; "YOU DON'T HAVE TO BE RUDE". Say what? You know what I think is rude? Having you grab my cart away from me without being asked, being forced to do something I didn't want to do in the first place, confusing the situation by spouting off unneeded instructions as necessary to my visit only to find that it was for something that didn't need doing and then loudly being called rude for possibly showing my upset at these infringements.MOST of my interactions at this store have been good. The Baggers are great, Deli folks are pleasant, I love the Sushi guy and the people in the Fish and Meat section have always been pleasant and fun. I used to actually enjoy shopping here. But now, I dread the whole check-out process and Corporate has only added to that dread with their confounding couponing options. Some folks love the self-check. That's wonderful for them. But I am not one of those folks. Next time, ASK if I would like to use the self-check, so that I might politely decline. Do not just grab my cart away from me, like I haven't a choice & I should know better. I overlooked the previous events listed above as human error, even when they resulted in an inconvenience with a drive back to the store, but this visit and conduct was too obnoxious to overlook.

Store is great. Employees are fantastic. Service everywhere is first-rate. Quality of food is excellent and I've never had any issue with spoilage. Convenient to the community of Rancho Murieta. It is appreciated to have this store here. The prices will make your eyes POP OUT! I simply don't shop here for most of my food. It's a shame. I know - everything has gone up - this store has ALWAYS been expensive - just like the gas station in front of it - it's about convenience and literally nothing for twenty minutes. Honestly, most items cost two to three dollars more than most stores. I've gone in there and spent 400-500 dollars! You simply can't get out of here for less than 80-100 dollars. I don't know how anyone on a greatly reduced budget could even consider shopping here. I've even heard the cashiers say - "well I don't shop here, I shop at Winco." Here's some advice to the store: Your OWN employees can't afford to shop there - that is a PROBLEM.

Ok, so my wife and kids go here like EVERYDAY. You're welcome :).I wanted to leave a review for the sandwich guy today. He was awesome, efficient and makes a damn good sando! Went in during lunch and they seemed to have their hands full. The line moved pretty quick in my opinion and again he did an amazing job! But then again, he was just doing his job. And an awesome job he did!!Yes, I was the dad with those 3 crazy kids. Thanks for not being annoyed with me/us.The California Turkey on that French roll was amazing. I freaking love sandwiches btw. And my wife loved the tuna! Ps...that is a HUGE sandwich.Love this Bel Air! My wife tells me there are so many staff that has been so kind to her and the kids. So THANK YOU for that!I'll be back to try some other sandwiches! Again, thanks a billion!

Seriously! How can you not experience less than five stars at Bel Air in Rancho Murieta. Unless...however, you're just complaining or it was a one-off situation. After all, we all know things happen. That's life. Looking at the "grocery store" experience and provide a thoughtful review....let's look at the different departments and the selections...okay 5 stars...let's look at the cleanliness of the store...5 stars. Service 5...quality 5....okay 5 stars.

I have been shopping here from the day they opened. I live in Jackson and stop here on the way home. I stopped in today and as I came up to the register. I said hi to the clerk. Older lady with glasses. No reply and just started ringing me up. I ran my credit and she was moving slow bagging my groceries. I didn't have much just two bags. I moved to get my cart and help with the bags. She said not to leave until she was done with her process. I told her I was helping her with the bags. She never another word. You lost my business Bel air. Will never step foot in this store again.

I asked for a product that they normally carry that was out of stock on the shelf and the gal at the check out said she didn't have time anyone to check on it. Only one check stand was open and the gal next to her was folding plastic bags. The first gal had her air pods in her ear and could of easily called the back. I went by the back of the store, casually popped my head in and they responded promptly. The discount items are BS the way it works (or doesn't). You see an attractive sale price but you don't get it even if you have the membership app because you haven't downloaded another app on your phone. Of course they don't tell you this, you only know if you check your receipt. I'll avoid them and just go to Safeway before leaving Folsom.
