We asked for an early check in and we were able to be accommodated. The staff were friendly, warm and inviting. The room was adorable, comfortable, spacious and worked well for our long weekend needs. They do have a small public coffee house in lobby as well as a brewery in the courtyard of the hotel. Everything was great. The only complaint i have is, a Saturday night at a hotel is busy anyways, with guests. Having a brewery that is quite loved as well, makes for a parking fiasco. We inquired at the desk about where to park and was told we could take the handicap spot until something opened up. There is limited street parking surrounding the hotel and it abuts another hotel so we couldn't park there. 20 mins and one finally opened up. Parking aside, i would stay here again. The rooms, the staff, the ambiance absolutely made it a perfect place to stay! (PS the bathrooms aren't heated )

We picked this hotel for the location and the price wasn't insanely expensive, still though we could have paid the same and stayed at the Marriott. Which we may do next time. We got a family room as we have five people in our family. This room boasts that it sleeps six but that would be extremely tight. The rooms are very small. So if you're gone all day and only sleep here then you'll be fine. If you're have young kids though and do any kind of time in the hotel room it is not ideal. The room was "well worn". The furniture is pretty banged up and there isn't a dresser. The outlets were not screwed into the wall all the way which we noticed becasue of plugging in the hair dryer and our phone chargers. The fridge was wobbly so opening and closing it was a pain in the butt. Same with the microwave and even though the room boasts accommodation for 6 people there were only four towels, so we ended up having to get more towels right away. The toilet was clogged from the get go. So before we got here it must have been clogged. We let the front desk know and they told us we could come get a plunger and take care of it ourselves.... So my wife went down there and they didn't have a plunger. So she came back, we were on the third floor. Then about ten minutes later they found a plunger so we went back down and got it. It's interesting that they don't have a maintenance person to do this stuff...Then later after we fixed it and returned the plunger to the front desk the storage closet next to our room was unlocked and there was a plunger in there the whole time! The hot tub that's over the front office is nice and private and has a decent view of Heavenly. But it is dirty, the water had gross stuff floating in it and the hot tub is old and looks to be in disrepair. The larger hot tub that's near the beer area is nice if it's not full! lol which it was most of the time. The fire pits by the front desk were on pretty much all the time so that was fun. My kids loved that. We didn't visit the little cafe thsts in the front desk area but it seemed pretty popular. Parking here is very tight but doable. The rooms do have shampoo, conditioner, body wash and a hair dryer so that's helpful. The fridge does work so it wasn't the worst experience we have had! The staff are generally friendly which is also nice.

My wife and I have stayed at Basecamp South Lake Tahoe before, but this was undoubtedly the worst experience we've ever had there. The only reason it's even getting 2 stars is because they refunded us for one of the nights--a bare minimum gesture that doesn't erase the issues we faced. The Food: Let's start here because it was shockingly bad. The Nutella toast was a joke--barely any Nutella, making it a sad, overpriced piece of bread. The egg and cheese sandwich was a think layer of egg in between and English muffin and the cheese was barely noticeable. The coffee? Undrinkable, tasting more like water than actual coffee. And their "Tahoe Blue" drink, which is supposed to feature blue spirulina, wasn't even made correctly. If they can't prepare it right, they might as well remove it from the menu entirely. The Room: Where do I begin? The room reeked of mold--an overpowering, unpleasant smell that lingered throughout our stay. It was freezing, thanks to a broken heater fan. While they did provide an extra space heater, it barely made a dent in the cold. Did I mention the room smelled like mold? Because it's worth repeating. On top of that, the noise from the pub in the courtyard was unbearable, like trying to sleep in the middle of a nightclub. in addition a car alarm right outside our window was going off for about 25 minutes at midnight, walking not just my wife and I but my daughter up as well. The bed was uncomfortably hard--so much so that even after an exhausting day on the slopes, it felt impossible to get a decent night's sleep. And the shower? A complete disaster, with pitiful water pressure that made the experience frustrating at best. When I requested extra towels, they handed us small, rough pool towels--an absurd substitute for actual bath towels.Overall Quality: This hotel used to be a favorite of ours, but it's clear the standards have plummeted over the years. The food is subpar, the accommodations are poorly maintained, and the overall experience is not worth the price. For what we paid, we could have stayed at a Marriott or booked a far superior Airbnb. This stay was deeply disappointing, and I can't see myself recommending Basecamp to anyone in its current state.

We got a room here and asked for NO stairs... We're given stairs. Was just released from hospital, 88 years old. They put people with little kids above us who were running around banging constantly and making all kinds of noise. Very disappointed by this.

The location was great, easy to get to many places walking. Parking easy. We were on the first floor and the people above us were quite loud but with our TV on we eventually fell asleep. The bed was comfortable and pillows were good. The shower was small and we are not big people. All in all it was fine for one night which is what we needed it for. The horchata coffee at their coffee shop was great!

This place was super cute. We ate brussel sprouts and had a drink. They have non alcoholic and alcoholic choices. We accidentally went during a wedding but they let us set upstairs. We didn't stay at the hotel, just dropped by for snacks.

My husband and I really loved our experience staying at Basecamp. It has the same feel as a place we loved in Bend, OR -- a motel that feels like a cozy, rustic camping experience except you have a clean room to go to with a comfy bed! They have a welcoming lobby with a place to get coffee and a quick breakfast, a couple hot tubs, and a great brewery with live music! It's located directly across from the Lake Tahoe Outdoor Arena at Harveys. This worked out perfectly for us as we had concert tickets and only had to walk across the street to get back to our room afterward. We were lucky - it was a hot weekend and they were in the process of adding A/C to some of the rooms -we had it in ours! The person checking us in was kind and helpful. We had fewer towels than expected so they made sure to get some for us right away. We wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

I will give it 4 bc we like the vibes. Being able to sit outside by a fire pit or inside. Cool little spot. Has live music sometimes. Their prices are too high for the food quality though. Decent beer and wine selection. Dogs are allowed so that's a big plus. Bathrooms are clean. More than one so that's nice. Also they made my food wrong. Asked for my sando to have no pesto but still came with pesto. Still had a good time tho. We like coming here for drinks.

Good location, decent room (bed was comfortable and clean), property is aged and shows lots of deferred maintenance but the brewery is a nice amenity and large jacuzzi was enjoyable 3 of 5 nights.Jacuzzi - One group of 12-14, kids screaming, adults smoking weed, glass beer bottles and incredibly loud and massive personal speaker. The jacuzzi is a crash pad for locals...we witnessed 2 groups, 2 nights openly discuss being local, OK but at least be respectful to guests!Alexia at front desk was great, so was the younger guy with the Romanian accent but the beanie wearing, longer hair "dude" was a complete joke on so many levels - inept at doing the most basics of his Job.No towels ever in the jacuzzi area and no mention you need to bring bath towels from your room. No cleaning service for 5 nights. No ice machine for guests. You get a room, parking , and then fend for yourself! You don't need to stay here to enjoy the brewery and fire pit, so save yourself from a mediocre experience and stay in one of the better options nearby.

First time staying at this hotel. Knew someone who got married in Tahoe and stayed here so thought it couldn't be all that bad. Check in was easy and we were told they have a complimentary coffee bar in the morning. Room was very small and couldn't have been more basic. Shower was terrible, the head doesn't move and just sprays right at the door you go in. Bed was decent. You can really hear neighbors. 3 stars because it was a fine place to sleep but wouldn't stay again unfortunately.
