Great service and wonderful vegan food! So many good options. To start- the Avo Verde Salsa and Chori-Queso Dip are fab, I really like their chips! The Double Deluxe was a fun treat. The Bambi and the Al Pastor are a bit too greasy for me but very flavorful. The restaurant is a decent size and seems like a great place to watch a game or meet up for brunch. I can't wait to try the brunch menu.

We came around 5pm on Saturday last October and it wasn't busy so we ordered right away. We had an appointment around 6pm so we thought we got a quick bite but took some time for the food to be ready. However, the food was tasty.- loaded fries: very good. The fries were crispy and the toppings were generously loaded & very tasty.- bambi taco: the 'beef' was tasty and tender. My favorite part was the crispy taco shell!- mole taco: mole sauce was good. They gave generous portion for the 'meat'.- melty melt sandwich: delicious. Hubby said that the filling tasted like meat even though it was vegan.

I wish I had not waited this long to write this review, because I would give credit to the gentleman who wore many hats the evening we visited Bambis. He seemed to be our bartender, waiter, nightlife recommender, and shared many other good vegan options to enhance our stay in sacramento. Kudos to that gentleman, I'm sorry I don't recall his name, but I'm sure the staff know who I'm referring to. We ordered the queso fundido and brussell sprouts in mole for appetizers. The sauce with the brussell sprouts had an amazing taste had me cleaning the sauce off the plate. Drinkwise we had a good Cilantro Spicy Margarita and what my gf called a "fancy horchata" which she really enjoyed. For our main course we basically ordered one of each of the tacos on the menu that intrigued my GF and I. We ordered ...Bambi taco - which was a simple crispy taco but deliciousDouble deluxe - whats not too love about extra carbsGarden Chorizo Taco - Had a very strong chorizo flavor, I liked it, I think it was a little intense for my GF. Al Pastor - my personal favorite with the pickled pineappleSpecial taco of the day which had a tempura fried butternut squash. It was good but as I explained to the waiter, I think if the squash was cut into smaller chunks it would have been more effective and easier to eat, but again delicious. It's always a pleasure getting to see my vegan GF get to enjoy delicous foods like queso fundido and decadent tacos. This place definitely gave us a great night. The added friendly service from the gentleman servicing us made it very memorable. I was able to pass by the kitchen and give a quick thanks to los magos de tacos.

I arrived at what I thought was a Yelp event, only to realize there had been a mix-up. While the atmosphere was inviting and the food looked scrumptious, my experience was a bit of a rollercoaster. Despite the restaurant not being super packed, it took quite a while to get a menu, and service felt a bit elusive. After almost 20 minutes, my order hadn't been taken, which was disappointing. However, I could see the potential! The dishes being served to other tables looked absolutely delicious, and I'm eager to return when things are less hectic. Here's hoping for a smoother experience next time--there's definitely something special about this place! Side Note I asked Carlos why he did not help me. He advised because I was on my phone. He thought I was not looking to be served.

Once again, I was able to attend another superb vegan/vegetarian UYE arranged by Bridget W.! The day was originally held a few weeks before on Sept. 26th, except attendees were not able to make it, so Bridget kindly rescheduled the event to Oct 9th instead. However, 9 Yelpers stated that they were "in" only to not show up again! https://www.yelp.com/events/sacramento-rescheduled-uye-eat-your-veggies-bambi-vegan-tacos?ytl_=68b741a81ba54ceca88561ae3070513d&utm_medium=email&utm_source=email_event_reminder&utm_campaign=Oct-08-2024Anyway, Bridget and I still enjoyed an amazing evening of delicious food that I'm still craving and dreaming about! When we entered the restaurant, I noticed it wasn't busy, and it had a nice, almost romantic atmosphere. There were two TV's on, but they only showed cartoons for some reason. But this place is all about their own creative versions of vegan tacos designed in various combinations of veggies and flavors! The menu and wall specials made deciding on what to get very hard for us both, but I eventually chose 2 tacos: The Al Pastor: Achiote marinated mushrooms, jalapeno crema, charred pickled pineapple, topped with onions and cilantro. And the special: Ensenada Squash Taco: beer battered zuchini, slaw, pico de gallo, parmesan cheese, and peach BBQ sauce. We also shared a Chori Queso Dip: Nacho Cheese, & House Made Chorizo, Served w/ homemade Chips. Every morsel and mouthful was excellent! Another enticing feature about this restaurant is that it serves alcohol! Since I don't have much of a night life anymore, it's been a very long time since I have had a specialty cocktail. I decided on the Watermelon Juicy Fruit Margarita served w/ a tajin rim. Another delicious and thirst quenching drink that really added to the whole dining experience! Despite missing out on meeting some new Yelp friends who were a no show, Bridget and I still had a very nice dining experience. The food, drink, and wait staff really made for a memorable evening! The prices were very reasonable too!

Service is great and the food is delicious! I love the vegan/new American cuisine twist to Mexican food.I enjoy the music and the decor very hipster. My only feedback is that it's always cold so bring a sweater if you're dining in. Great Vegan food!!!

Not just for vegans...everyone must try! SERVICE: Shout out to Carlo! He was great. He explained the menu to us, brought out our food quickly and made sure we had everything we need. Most importantly he was friendly!FOOD: Wow! The food here is delicious. My favorite menu item is the vegan bean queso dip. It was so flavorful, with layers of beans, vegan queso and chorizo. I will surely crave this again. The Bambi tacos was good, a simple taco and reminded me of a Jimboys style beef taco. The Double Decker taco surprised me. It was very tasty and reminded me of a gordita from Taco Bell. For dessert, we had the peach mangonada. It was not my favorite but still flavorful. Lastly we had the grapefruit mocktail...good but I would get something different next time. AMBIANCE: This place is sooo cute!!! I love the retro vibe. You are surrounded by interesting art in a cozy location. I also really like the mural outside of the building. Most importantly this resturant is clean! Overall, as a non-vegan I was impressed and my vegan cousin was impressed. This place will surely tempt you to become vegan or encourage you to try more vegan foods. I will surely be back! :)

This place is SOOOO good, doesn't even matter if you're vegan. Our favorites:Garden chorizo taco (tied for #1)Al pastor taco (tied for #1)Double deluxe taco Brekkie sandwich (this was so delicious, I would have loved it even more if they offered options to add some veggies or avocado)Chorizo queso bean dipOur least favorite was the Bambi taco with a crispy shell, we prefer a soft shell and the flavors weren't as epic as the other choices.Definitely try all the different hot sauces on the table. Our favorite was the Yucatán sunshine habanero pepper sauce.I wish this was a chain and they were in other parts of California!

I really like this place and the food / booze.Funky with a capital F. Paint splattered cracked concrete floor. Weird & confounding art on the wood plank walls. Plain Jane furniture that looks like it was stolen from a vintage 1950's mountain woods cabin. The menu is short. Got some belly warming / filling selections.I had the chick'n tacos and a bowl of beans. Both were soul satisfying. I'm an omnivore with a serious meat addiction. I did not regret the vegan meal here.I drank the Ipanema cocktail. Loved it. Citrus strong and salty. Like a day at a tropical beach.Shared the meal with my two girls. They are vegetarians. They also loved their meals.Recommended.

Ambiance is cool. Service is casual and cool. The FOODS IS EVERYTHING. I still get the melty melt every time - my new thang is adding avocado. Classic margarita ... yup. The OG Bambi, yep. Recently brought a red meat loverer here and he also loves the melty melt. - he wolfed it down. Brunch tomorrow maybe, probably. Thanks Bambi.
