Azul Mexican Food and Tequila Bar

Now that I am having to come downtown again for work I might as well make the best of it trying out all the restaurants near my job! I came here for lunch with all my coworkers, there was a large group of us, and surprisingly it was not busy here. It was a Monday around 12-12:30 pm. You order at the register and then they come out with your food and drinks. Easy casual dining. The customer service was excellent and extremely helpful. Again, coming with a large group all our meals were freshly made and we were each served within less than 5 minutes of placing our orders. Exceptional!!! The restaurant is on the smaller side, nonetheless, plenty of seating options were available. From patio, to bar top, booths, and smaller tables with chairs. I ordered the Nachos Libre which is offered from the apps section. Me thinking it'd be a small portion boy was I wrong. This was definitely a meal within itself and could easily be shared amongst two people! Huge bang for your buck with this meal. Amazing flavors and the chicken was super tender and juicy. Hands down will revisit agin the future.

We came in for taco Tuesday around 9pm and as always Azul did not disappoint. The food no matter what you get is always great and still reasonably priced compared to other similar restaurants. As a Mexican person im am sad to see the price of the simple taco sky rocketing everywhere! I know part of it can't be helped but places charging close to or more than $4 a taco is insane. Fortunately on taco Tuesday you can still get tacos here for $1.95 though I miss the days they were $1.25. My friend ordered a burrito Azul style, it was delicious, the sauce on that is so tasty. I asked for the spiciest salsa to accompany my tacos and it was good, hit the spot. We ordered a pitcher of margaritas to share which were good but a little on the sweet side, I could be wrong but they tasted like they'd used a mix instead of real lime juice and agave? I've had the steak salad and the ceviche here on other visits and they were all yummy. My only suggestion would be to heat the tortillas on the grill with a little meat grease for that added authentic flavor. They have a great happy hour from 3-6, check it out. The staff was pleasant and efficient.

The flavors is so good. We came during lunch. You order first, and they give you a number. You can pick wherever you like to sit. The place is nice and clean. I would definitely come back and try something else.

Delicious food! Wonderful attentive kind and bilingual service, staff very friendly and knowledgeable about the whole menu. The chefs are doing a phenomenal job too, cooking the food to perfection diligently. I look forward to coming back to try their happy hour quesadilla! Beautiful interior, quite calm. They even offer breakfast that I am interested in trying! Thank you Azul for the wonderful kind attentive hospitality and delicious food! Shoutout to everyone!

I love Azul! The 2 gentlemen that are there weekday afternoons are hella cool. I love going in there and chatting them up en Español during my lunch break. The food is always good. They recently added Birria and Pozole, tried both and I'm hooked. Reminds me of home. I asked for them to make me a Birria Burrito, they did, and OMG! I get it at least once a week. Yo Azul.

The tomato soup advertised as tortilla soup was not good. Do not get the soup! A can could make it better. Quesadilla was ok. Empanada was also not good.

Was downtown taking care of some business and ran into this gem. The staff were nice, welcoming, but not overbearing. Food was GREAT , prices were good. I had my usual henny margarita and they were bombbbbbbb. I'm so happy this tequila bar had COGNAC lol. I really appreciate that small detail. There's always one friend out the group that doesn't like Tequila and that friend is me- COGNAC QUEEN .I will be back.

I have dreams about this burrito! The Azul Carnitas Burrito. The light creamy red sauce is delicious. The carnitas is on point. Add in cheese and fresh pico de gallo - heaven!They are always fast and friendly here. We almost always eat here when we're going to the Sacramento Comedy Spot. Always a great night all the way around!

Azul is great all around! Food. Customer service. Ambiance. They've got it all! My family's favorite Mexican spot in Downtown Sacramento! Looking forward to celebrating my birthday there!
