Great sushi place. Not gonna go elsewhere. Rare to find a miso soup that comes with clams in them. Their special menu is diverse. Had several different toro selections and all were incredible in texture and flavor. Also passed the eye test.Son had spider roll and we also tried some other nigiri. This place has only been open for two months. Ambiance is nicer than previous establishment and Pia who was both server and cashier made you feel welcome. Sat at the sushi bar and one of owners Lee took care of us. I hope people come here and enjoy the restaurant. I'm getting tired of those tasteless all you can eat places and the sushi on conveyor belt place. Thank you Pia and Lee. We will be back.

Came in on a monday for lunch, excited after seeing so many posts about their new location. We ordered the sassy roll (waitress recommended), agedashi tofu, the eel donburi set, and the chirashi set. The sets have a LOT of food, and look really impressive. However, they are super bland. The somen noodles were in a broth, that basically tasted like colored water. The egg roll had a indistinguishable sauce. The croquet was also bland. The agedashi tofu came plated with the sauce on the side, which was great so that it doesn't get soggy too quickly, but the sauce was so sweet, it did not taste like a normal agedashi dipping sauce. We ended up adding some soy sauce to it to balance out the sweetness and that helped. The portion of tofu was generous, however. The chawanmushi had an unusual amount of broth on top of it, and again, super bland. The eel tasted fine, nothing special. The sashimi on the chirashi was delicious and high quality. Their sushi rice has a light brown tint to it and was a little on the dry side. I will say that the sassy roll was delicious, a good size, and the strongest item we ordered. I would come back for their rolls and sashimi, but their hot items need some work. The service was fine, nothing special, but there was a terse conversation between the waitress and the sushi chef, which made things awkward since we were sitting near the counter. I think we'll stick to our usual Roku for now. Willing to try this place in a few months, hopefully they'll start adding some salt to their food. Looks definitely are deceiving when it comes to this place, unfortunately.

I definitely enjoyed their sushi here! Anything yuzu & yellow tail is my go to. Their service was amazing. They did have a lot of people come in during valentines dinner so I doubt the wait to get a table is similar to my husband and I's experience. We also took a to go order that almost took an hour of wait but once again, not a problem! They had so many people but were still able to deliver great customer service. Not to mention that this was a soft opening that went a bit viral on instagram! One thing is I do with they had a full dining experience of the japanese style seating. But it just felt like a stage for everyone to watch you eat... Which was not ideal for my low social battery at that time. I would definitely come back here for a birthday celebration. They had a separate area to accommodate big parties! Definitely call ahead and reserve.

Most definitely the best quality, tastiest food, and fun Japanese restaurant in Roseville. The staff provides the fun with happy spirits and helpfully kind service.I ate a few months ago at the original Sacramento location and was blown away how good the food was. 5 stars all the way.Tonight the food, ambiance, staff friendliness equalled the Sacramento experience.4 weeks after launch day the staff are still in soft opening mode. So they say to be cautious. Soft openings I always experience somewhat uneven food and service. Here tonight everything was perfect. And the astounding value! The bento box dinner has 6 courses for $18 - $22 depending on the main protein. My $18 Pork katsudon was delicious.Located across the street from Costco. Behind the McDonald's.I plan to eat here so often that the owner will eventually dedicate a table for me with a little bronze plaque.Highest recommendation. GO!

Very excited that azayaka is now in Roseville! No need to go to sac. Comparing to this place with the first azayaka.. I think the hot food chef needs to be train more. My always to go to is the tempura and the katsu set but both items didn't meet what I have eaten in their sac location. Mixed tempura: the batter is not as crispy, fluffier than the other location. The freshness of the veggies was not that good. Its asparagus was so stringy seems like they left the inedible part. The shrimp tempura got smaller too.Chicken katsu set: the chickens katsu's skin was so bad that it was falling apart, so different from what we had in the sac location. Not to mention that it was super oily. Probably wouldn't order again. For those 2 dishes I would have given only 2 stars but since I ordered their special box, which they call their special new year box.. it saves them from the 2 star! The box was very good, however, according to why I saw in instagram, it should contain bluefin toro on their sashimi selection but I was given hamachi instead. Overall the box was very delicious and I was happy that this year, I was able to try it.The service was very good, they were attentive specially the waitress so I gave them another star! Overall food is about 3 star and very good service so 3.5 to 4 stars!I hope their service continue to be this good , not like the other location. The other location has great food but not that good service. Hate to say it but I have stopped going to the sac location due to their mediocre bad service. So, Is this worth a try? Yes. Especially during their soft opening, they are giving 10% off now!

Love their second location! The quality and freshness is fantastic!Stopped by for lunch with my daughter and enjoyed an 18 piece sashimi box. The quality of fish is insanely fresh and always consistent. I've always been a fan of their first location and I'm not surprised their new spot tastes just as great! Service is phenomenal and the interior is astonishing! Highly recommend this place. Tastes great and presentation is on point!

Wonderful experience at Azayaka during their soft opening. Server (Hiro) was great, food was good. The 3 of us decided to check out this place while we were in the area last week. It's next to Crumbl Cookies, where Raku Sushi used to be. Around the corner from Dick's Sporting Goods and same parking lot as Black Bear Diner. My friend and I ordered a rainbow roll and a spider roll, while the other friend ordered some beef udon. Presentation was nice. We were surprised when we saw the udon; somehow we thought the udon would be in soup form instead of on a plate. Too spicy for my taste but my friend loved it and gobbled it up!We were given two little complimentary dishes, some kind of squid salad and another raw fish item. My friend and I don't eat the raw stuff, so we gave it to the other friend, who absolutely loved it. After our meal, that friend announced this was the best Japanese restaurant she's ever been to, and that she plans to bring her husband next time. Wow! The rainbow roll and spider rolls were good. Not the best I've had, but decent. Pricing was good, around $13-15 per roll. They have "sets" on their menu, which I guess is the closest thing they have to bento boxes. Wish they would broaden that part of their menu to have more choices like sesame chicken, and to be able to incorporate items like gyoza into the set. Gyozas (my friend's favorite) were available as a side dish, but not part of the "sets." Having a few more bento box options for customers who aren't into the rolls or sashimi as much would be perfect. Other than that, a good experience. Server was very attentive and friendly. Restaurant was clean. Maybe could use a little more decor, but maybe that will come over time.----Went a second time with my husband. Food was good. Tried the beef teriyaki set this time. Lots of variety. Agedashi tofu was good too. Wish they had two item bento boxes like a lot of Japanese restaurants do (like with sesame chicken and beef teriyaki, etc). The rice on their rolls is different than other places. Not sure if it's the texture or the brand. They used mixed greens for their salad in the sets. Not as tasty as salads from other Japanese restaurants but maybe more healthy with the extra fiber. Beef teriyaki was a little too undercooked for my liking. Took it home to grill it a little more.

Congratulations to Azayaka on opening their 2nd location in Roseville on December 28, 2024! 10% soft opening discount is available now.Restaurant name is pronounced AH-zah-YAH-kah. It means delicious! How fitting.Restaurant is still setting up, so no landline phone and no AMEX accepted yet. Omakase and tatami seating are coming soon. Omakase price per person will be $15 less if you make advance reservations online ($123 vs. $138 per person for 16 courses).I enjoyed sitting and chatting at the sushi bar with the amiable Chef Li. Poor guy says he'll be working 7 days a week, so he joked to feel sorry for him! I think he has a cot set up for him in the restaurant. I noticed the sushi chefs were speaking Mandarin Chinese.I loved my $21 Beef Teriyaki Teishoku Set, which is similar to a bento box. The Beef Teriyaki was boneless New York steak cooked to your desired doneness. I chose medium rare. The teishoku also comes with clam miso soup, salad, vegetable egg roll, somen, white rice, and your choice of Corn Chawanmushi (steamed egg custard with a thickened broth) or Japanese Croquette. Beef Teriyaki and Chawanmushi were the highlights for me. I think the fried potato croquette will be the safer, more familiar option. The clam miso soup comes with 2 clams. I wished the miso soup was served hotter. Somen (thin wheat flour noodles) is traditionally served chilled with broth, so not my favorite. The mixed baby greens salad with cucumber slices was fresh and in good volume. The veggie egg roll was fun to eat. The restaurant realizes their Teishoku Sets are a bargain, so visit sooner rather than later! For the soft opening, I received a complimentary sample of the octopus salad, which I enjoyed very much.I also ordered the Hamachi Toro Nigiri and Kanpachi Nigiri. Long strips of fresh, attractive fish over small balls of rice brushed with a sauce and/or lightly torched. I think my Kanpachi nigiri was missing the lime zest.To figure out what to order, I recommend admiring and referring to Azayaka's Instagram photos. IG: @azayakasushiExciting sushi menu. Sashimi boxes (12 pieces or 18 pieces). Chef's Choice Nigiri (7 piece or 9 piece). Special nigiri selection, including both Japanese and Santa Barbara uni, halibut, striped jack, amberjack, sea bream, ocean trout, monkfish liver salmon roe, and Wagyu beef. Chef Li recommended the Shima Aji (striped jack) and Hirame (halibut) to me. Because I inquired about what White Kombu was, he gave me a sliver to taste. Sweet and chewy, like a thick fruit roll up texture. That is the topping for the Shima Aji nigiri.Pics of the Donburi look amazing. Unagi Donburi is grilled eel. Kaisendon includes 10 pieces of chef's choice sashimi, ebi (shrimp), and dashimaki (tamagoyaki or rolled egg omelette). Bara Chirashi Donburi looks like a beautifully arranged chef's choice mix of bite sized sashimi, uni, and ikura over rice. Tip: Add $3 to make it a set (clam miso soup, salad, veggie egg roll, somen, and either chawanmushi or croquette).Available until 1/15/25, the Christmas & New Year's special is the $70 Jubako Box, which is 3 boxes of food: 1) Sashimi 2) Maki (I think you have your choice between raw and cooked from the Google and IG pics) and 3) New York Steak with rice.On the Specials Menu, you can find Smoked Duck Breast Salad and Kan-Buri Kama (only 2 grilled collars are available per week because it comes from a 32" or longer Yellowtail!)The Jungle Party and Sassy rolls looked yummy. Large colorful rolls with many toppings. The signature Azayaka roll includes Lobster Tempura!I found out the Agedashi Tofu is made with soft tofu. It comes with bonito flakes and dashi sauce, so I look forward to trying that.Other fun and unique menu items include Lobster Tempura, Wagyu Tataki, Miso-Marinated Black Cod, Kaki Fry (fried oysters), Grilled Tobiko Eggplant, Geso Karaage (fried squid tentacles), and Toro Shokupan Toast (pan fried milk bread topped with minced tuna & ikura).Daily dessert option was Crepe Cake: strawberry, matcha green tea, or vanilla flavors. Owner Hiro's favorite is green tea. I went with vanilla because I liked an IG photo of it.The restaurant is bright, clean, and modern with a light natural wood decor. The main dining room consists of mostly tables for 4. There is a wall separator for a 2nd dining area with tables for 6 and tables for 2. That section was closed when I was there. Behind the sushi bar, you can see neatly stacked beautiful and interesting sushi plates.Restaurant is located across the street from Costco in Roseville. It's next door to Crumbl and near the Dick's Sporting Goods plaza. It's where Raku Sushi used to be.Best wishes to Azayaka, and a warm welcome to Roseville! We've been longing for omakase, fancy fishes, and tatami rooms. So many menu items I am eager to eat!

They are in their soft opening phase still but wanted to try it out. We were the only party when we walked in which was odd. The place is nicely put together with some elements still missing. They even have an area to sit on the ground on pillows. It wasn't available to utilize though. Next time. The food came out quickly but probably due to being the only customers. All the rolls were amazing. We are definitely coming back to try others. The miso soup came with clams! First time ever seeing that. See pictures. The staff were very attentive and friendly. I'm looking forward to the next time my wife has a hankering for sushi.
