Walking through Front Street and the Waterfront, we stumbled upon this local business that also stretches out their support to local artisans who have not yet promoted their art or their designs. Atrium 916 offers a unique space where creativity and community coalesce. By prioritizing sustainable and ethically-produced crafts, Atrium 916 promotes an array of unique products, from honey jars crafted by local beekeepers to intricately designed candles. This support enables artisans to thrive in a competitive market, fostering a sense of pride and accomplishment within the local community. The gallery-style setting allows these creators to exhibit their work prominently, attracting art enthusiasts and everyday shoppers alike.Local artisans at Atrium 916 benefit significantly from the gallery's dedication to sourcing materials locally. These vendors often collaborate with nearby farmers and producers to procure high-quality, sustainable resources. The fun fact is that the businesses who create these honey jars may work directly with beekeepers who utilize ethical beekeeping practices, ensuring the bees' welfare while producing exceptional honey. Similarly, candle makers often source beeswax or soy from regional suppliers, blending these with locally derived fragrances to create eco-friendly, artisanal candles without any chemicals. This approach not only supports the local economy but also reduces the carbon footprint associated with transporting materials from distant locations. The symbiotic relationship between Atrium 916 and local artisans extends beyond mere retail support. The gallery frequently organizes workshops and networking events, enabling artisans to share skills, techniques, and business advice. This nurtures a collaborative environment where ideas flourish, and innovation is encouraged. By bridging the gap between creators and the community, Atrium 916 cultivates an appreciation for locally crafted goods, emphasizing the value of sustainability and cultural heritage. This commitment ensures that the artisans not only survive but thrive, contributing to a richer, more vibrant local culture. I'll be sure to be back soon and buy more from them!

We walked by this cute non-profit while in Old Sac tonight and it immediately caught my 8 year old's eye because you could create your own crafts. We walked around a bit and decided to come back to check it out.My daughter wanted to create her own clay ornament as a gift to her Nonnie which was $15. They give you all of the tools to make your ornament plus paint to decorate it. They even give you a little box to carry it home in plus some at home instructions. It's a very cute idea! You can also paint a tote bag and a pencil case plus a couple of other items. They sell hot cocoa, hot apple cider and even alcohol like Mulled Wine on the weekends. They also sell items inside locally made by Sacramento artists that are eco friendly. They have a nice seating area outside and the women working were very friendly and treated my daughter very sweetly. It's a fun place and I'm glad there is a business like this in Old Sac!

This place is a gem that my friend and I happened to stumble upon this past weekend. Just walking around old Sacramento and wandering we stumbled upon this place as it was colorful and the first thing we noticed were all of the positive signs are posted all over the store. So we stopped in and noticed that outside. They had some table set up with a drink menu but also a painting menu and got curious. When we walked inside, we realized that we could paint an ornament for only $15. This was such a great idea. I painted the cutest reindeer ornament And the staff were just so friendly and let us take our time and really get things right. I highly recommend this place. Everyone is friendly and all of the items inside the store that are being sold are also eco friendly. My cute reindeer now sits on my tree for the holidays!

Atrium 916 is an art center that focuses on sustainability through all types of art and music. They are located along the Old Sacramento Waterfront right next to the Delta King on the river. They consist of multiple spaces including an art gallery and small music studio. Visitors can come by and view paintings and sculptures or play their piano or keyboard free of cost. They offer art pieces for sale as well as different activities for guests in their Art Cafe (painting, sculpting, etc.), and the fees are used to support local artists. Besides viewing the art in their gallery and playing the instruments in their studio, we sculpted a clay magnet while sipping on ginger tea during our visit. We got to shape the magnet, then paint it as we pleased (we attempted to make a "cello" clay magnet). Typically the venue takes the piece to allow it to dry and finalize it so you can take it home later. But the worker said we could come back the next day to pick it up, and it turned out they were closed because it was Monday, so we went home without it since we don't live in the area. It's okay, it was more about the experience. This is a pretty cool spot for anyone who appreciates the arts and/or wants to support the art community.

Not much to say about Atrium 916 other than it's such a cute spot! All the products are made by local artists and I'm not sure if they're doing this just for the holidays but what drew me in was the fact that were selling a hot alcoholic beverage. I forgot what they're called but it was a brandy based drink. It was my first time having brandy and my first time having a warm alcoholic holiday drink. So good! I will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area.

Found exactly what I was looking for after a very long search. Amazon, didn't even have it. This is one of the few places I shop besides Amazon, so this was pure luck of the draw. One thing I really like getting here are their small Batch Kombucha. My favorites of my last visit was apple pie and blackberry fig. The Persimmon didn't match up. I say this as I bought 3 and drank them close together to find a favorite. I hope they still have more apple pie. Next week is the high Christmas dayview. I can't wait.I have been in here many times and they are a perfect gifty store. They also sell reusable towels and other products. They have candles, soaps, earrings, and stuff perfect for you too.Parking is on the street and metered. Usually during December, they offer free parking for small businesses.
