We love this grocery store and fish market. We come here specifically for the Salmon. It's a good deal for fresh Salmon. We buy 1 pound at a time, just enough for my husband and I to eat for a BBQ. We also buy there 5 pound bag of jasmine rice. It's cheaper here then it is at Raley's.Last time we were here we replaced 2 of our Chinese soup spoons that had broken by accident when it was dropped on the hard wood floor at home after taking it out of the dishwasher. The new spoons were nice and under a dollar each. They also have nice bowls, my parents requested a set of 4 rice bowls so we'll get them a set next time we're there. All of there products are inexpensive and good quality. They also have a good selection of sauces. I was at Raley's and looking for Black Bean sauce and couldn't find any so I came over here and they had several choices. I picked up the one that had Black Bean and Garlic. It was perfect for my Black Bean and chicken recipe.

Date: Sunday, September 22nd, 2024Time: around 11amMeal: Lunch TakeawayMy parents were heading up to Tahoe to visit. Since we always have lunch when they arrive, they decided to stop by the Asian Food Center to grab some roast duck (siu aap) and pig's feet. The duck was delish. A good portion and roasted well. The meat was savory and the skin crisp with a slight sweetness. It also came with the duck au jus which made it even more flavorful. The pig's feet was a good portion for the price. I can't remember how much, but I think my mom said something like $5.99. The peanuts were super salty and I think the pig's trotters / ham hock could have been more tender. A little too chewy for me.Good spot for Chinese takeout.REVIEW #3570

I normally do not like leaving these types of reviews. I usually go to Ranch 99 or KP but I just needed one item so I came here. When paying I gave them my card and then the lady asks me for my pin. I reply "excuse me?". She asks again for my pin. I tell her I am not telling you my pin. She then asks me to WRITE IT DOWN. What?? She tells me that the machine can't reach the counter. Is it even legal for a business to ask you and then request you to then write it down? She then asked me to pay with cash since I refuse to tell her my pinTo top it off the lady behind the counter was watchng Tink tok the entire time she was ringing us up. We had to ask her if it was time to pay. The place is also extremely dirty with cooked food sitting out in tbe middle of isles. I'm really not sure how this place isn't closed down.

Typical hole in the wall Chinese/Asian store. They have all the typical sauces and noodles. Good prices on fresh veggies. Not too much freezer selection. Seafood and meat counter are good tasting. Parking lot is barely marked. Area is a little sketchy.

A no-frills small Asian mart. Seems like there's a lot of regulars here though because it was pretty busy even on a weekday afternoon (checkout line going sluggishly). Tiny sections for fresh produce and raw meat & seafood (the seafood section looked extra questionable with debris-ridden fish tanks and tubs of defrosted shrimp being sold out in the open unrefrigerated on a warm day).Ehh I'd say it's a mart worth visiting if you live in the neighborhood and/or need to make a quick stop to get some jarred Asian cuisine condiments.

Employees yelling at each other in Cantonese. Trash talking. Line cutters. Indifferent or non existent customer service. Folks bumping into you with carts and/or themselves. Narrow aisles full of jam packed shelves. Live fish in tanks. Hanging whole fresh cooked ducks and chickens. Hanging slabs of cooked roasted pork and barbecue pork. Old school fresh meat counter. Questionable degrees of cleanliness. Madness all around. Ohhh this brought back childhood memories of shopping in SF Chinatown. But I am not in SF and it ain't a zillion years ago. All this action is in midtown Sacramento on Broadway happening at the Asian Food Center. It is a small grocer selling Asian groceries. Like it or leave it. I myself have varying degrees of like. They have some of the cheapest prices in Sacramento for the cooked deli chicken (soy sauce or salted, whole $14, half $9), duck (whole $21, half $11.60) and pork (roast or bbq) . On weekdays, they offer $7.99 hot lunches. It is white rice, cooked cabbage and choice of bbq pork or roast pork. Plain and simple eats. Other things to know is that they have a small parking lot. But park in it with caution. Large delivery trucks roll in and take no prisoners. Parking is mostly street with a mixed of angled and horizontal spaces.

The people who work here are rude and uneducated. It's a typical Asian market, nothing special. They speak broken English. They look down at you like you have no money. Please make sure to look at the label. There are items that are expired.

Asian Food Center on Broadway is a famous Chinese grocery store in the Sacramento Chinese community. The store is not very big. But it carries almost everything for the Chinese kitchen. Meats, Chinese vegetables, spices, seasoning, soy, sauces, and Chinese BBQs are also available. You can get everything in one store. Very convenient! The customer service counter in the Asian Food Center is fast and accurate. They have a line in front of the cashier counter all the time during rush hours. But the line is moving very fast. The store is very crowded most of the time. Weekend mornings are the worst. Also, the aisles inside the store are pretty narrow. Sometimes a shopping carts traffic jams happen inside the store.
